Joe, a 35-year-old advertising copywriter for a slick New York company, feels disillusioned with his life. Soon he starts dreaming of a mysterious man and, not long after, begins seeing him on the street and hearing his voice. The voice overwhelms Joe and he starts to listen to it, camping out on the front steps of his stoop, waiting for instructions. The media take note. "Arjun Basu is a master of writing tiny narrative jewels, with surprises built into every single sentence. Waiting for the Man is, somehow, a whole novel full of such surprising and perfect delights." — Stephen Marche, author of Love and the Mess We're In and Raymond + Hannah

How do you ask someone to imagine Waiting for Godot written by an internet-addicted Joseph Heller — or, even less likely, a warm-hearted Bret Easton Ellis? This book is wonderfully hard to pin down. You'll just have to read it for yourself." -Shaughnessy Bishop-Stall, author of Down to This and Ghosted
