Murder and betrayal in Renaissance Venice spark an intriguing love affair.

Bianca Salva’s love of science and helpful spirit leads her to defy the conventions of the day and illicitly practice medicine among the poor of Venice. When Bianca discovers one of her patients, a young courtesan, has been murdered, she’s immediately thrust into a shadow world of intrigue and betrayal.

Ian Foscari, a womanizing aristocrat, is the owner of the dagger Bianca has found on the body of the victim. Certain the unconventional doctor is the guilty party, he makes a deal with her: he will pose as her fiancé for one week while she tries to prove she’s not the killer. Should she fail, she will be executed. Ian’s home makes for a perfect hiding place for the body as Bianca illicitly conducts her investigation.

As Bianca closes in on the real killer, Ian fights his own struggle between his suspicions of Bianca and the undeniable attraction he feels for her. As the deadline looms, and more bodies turn up dead, Bianca and Ian find themselves in a deadly race to save themselves.
