Description

In the year 2057, in a post-apocalyptic world where a polar shift threatens the survivors of a widespread pandemic with extinction, sixteen-year-old genetically enhanced Lily Carmichael has more immediate problems. Her uncle is dying of cancer and her healing abilities are ineffective against the blood ties that bind them. In order to find a cure, Lily must leave the protection of her quiet town and journey to the trading city of Albany, all while avoiding the Industry, an agency that would like nothing better than to study and exploit her abilities.Seventeen-year-old Will Callahan has been searching for his father since severe storms blasted through the Midwest, killing his mother and sister. When he learns that his father may be in the city, he catches a ride with Lily, a girl who has come to his rescue more than once. As the two embark on a dangerous journey, the tension between them grows. But the secrets Will’s keeping could put Lily in far more danger than traveling to the city with him, and if he was any kind of man, he would have told her to run the minute she found him.

4.0 out of 5 stars A YA dystopian to get excited about October 25, 2012

By L. L. Treacy

Waning Moon is an excellent, entertaining read and I can honestly say I loved it! I really liked Lily and the mysterious Will. Even the secondary characters were likable and what can I say about those two wolves? The futuristic world was unique and easily believable. Lily and Will's growing attraction only added to the intensity of their situations. The actions scenes played out like a movie and I hated for the first part of the series to end. I was just up in Albany two weeks ago and thought about Lily traveling the area in the future. P.J. Sharon has created a story fans of dystopian, futuristic, and general good storytelling can get excited about. Recommended.

I read this book in one sitting because I was drawn into Lily's world and desperate to get to the end to find out how it all turned out, and oh what a nice twist surprise I found waiting for me!
The novel was well written, and I instantly cared about Lily and the others characters. They were well drawn and believable. I can't wait for the next installment from this talented writer. Way to go PJ Sharon!

I absolutely loved this suspenseful read by PJ Sharon. I may be an adult, but I'm a huge fan of YA fantasy. Sharon doesn't disappoint with plausible and creative characters and innovations to the world as it could be in the not-do-distant future. In addition to compelling characters, the action is so forward-driving I couldn't put this book down! Can't wait to read the next book in the trilogy!

5.0 out of 5 stars An enjoyable dystopian read July 15, 2013

By Jessica Fox

The book didn't have a dull moment with every page featuring suspense, action or leading to it. Overall it was an enjoyable reading as the author did a good job at giving information while developing the story instead of wasting chapters with background before anything meaningful happens. She still managed to keep me guessing and I am led to believe that there will be more shocks to come in the next installment.
