Why does life have to be so interesting, lament Mr. Wolf? He wishes for a boring happy life and finds his interesting life a terror. For Mr. Wolf life is a wonderful ride into the fantastic and magical, however that is his problem. Poor Mr. Wolf wants to live a quiet, anonymous life and not be bothered by fanciful creatures such as talking leather clad cats and the occasional beautiful girl.
After a beautiful stranger professes her love for Mr. Wolf one morning on a New York City subway train, he finds he cannot escape an interesting life. He tries to wake each weekday morning with the goal of keeping his life as devoid of interest as possible. Being that Mr. Wolf is a new high school art teacher, he imagines his goal should be easy.
Mr. Wolf’s teaching mentor at his new school in the Bronx has not prepared him to deal with ghostly students. That student wants desire Mr. Wolf’s guidance on the finer points of drawings and answers to how she ended up a ghost. His living students desire to know how to be young forever and sad Mr. Wolf wonders why they all believe he can answer their questions.
This is a story which spans lifetimes beyond count and deep time that shocks the imaginations. Mr. Wolf is a young man who carefully tries to hide and delude himself about being more than a man. He does not want to know that he has existed before this current universe. He tries to deny that love and hatred can predate the birth of a universe and transcend the boundaries of time and space.
