The universe of the “Wedding Proposal” varies from the green forest moon to the mega metropolis of the future New York City. The Magi family flees their home on Moon Six Ceti Alpha Four to escape a tyrannical militarized government. On their moon they owned the largest mine and lived in the most modern mansion the future has to offer. On Earth the Magi family holds no legal status and is forced to beg their extended family for logging. Fortunately for the Magi’s, their younger cousin believes he has a responsibility to family members he has never met. Lexy Hill is a highly trained technological enhanced soldier on leave to pursue a temporary career as an educator. He meets the Magi family who have fled their former wealth and power to be free people on the Earth. Earth is the center of a great empire at war with the upstart colony of Moon Six Ceti Alpha Four. Lexy’s generosity of spirit creates a path for the Magi to move towards Earth citizenship. The price the Magi’s must pay is to risk everything of value they bought and arrange a marriage for their eldest daughter with her cousin, Lexy. The “Wedding Proposal” looks at the possibility of love at first sight, fostered by mutual respect and familiar duty. Within this story we see the power of greed and the all composing fear of losing that which has been the most valuable stabilizing element of a young life.
