Cameron and his mother are on the move again, running from his violent father who never stops searching for them. When Cameron's mother shows him their newest "home"- a deserted old farmhouse in a backwater town- he's less than pleased. The place is creepy, no one will tell them about the previous owners, and the kids at school taunt Cameron about the bloodthirsty dogs that supposedly haunt the farm.
He tries to let it get to him, even when he thinks he sees a young boy hiding in the old barn out back. But it gets harder to believe he's just imagining things when an old picture surfaces of a boy in a coon skin hat- the boy Cameron saw in the barn. Before long, Cameron finds himself obsessed with discovering the boys story. As the terrifying truth begins to unveil itself, Cameron begins to remember moments of his own past.- moments that he soon wishes stayed forgotten...
