J.F. Spieles is a native of Wauseon, Ohio. He is a graduate of the University of Dayton and holds an M.A. in Education from The Ohio State University. Spieles currently lives and teaches in Englewood, Ohio. He has been awarded Educator of the Year in his school district and nominated for Ohio Teacher of the Year. When he is not teaching or writing, Mr. Spieles enjoys running and playing tennis. Sometimes he can be found hiking through a park or squirming his way through a spelunking adventure. His other books include In Sherman’s Path, a historical fiction novel for which he also published an accompanying teacher’s manual.
