Description

New Release Historical Thriller
It is the time of Jack the Ripper, the widowed Queen Victoria sits on the throne of England. The whole of London is on edge wondering when or where Jack will kill next. The Palace, Parliament, and the press are demanding the police do more to find him.

In another part of London, rough-around-the-edges war hero, Metropolitan Detective Inspector Rudyard Bloodstone has his own serial killer to find. Inter departmental rivalries, politics, and little evidence to go on hamper the investigation at every turn. In a battle of wills, Bloodstone presses forward following his instincts in spite of the obstacles.

Adding to those problems, away from the strains of the investigation, he is engaged in the ups and downs of a new relationship with a lovely hat maker.

Advance Praise

Set in Victorian London, Karlsen paints a colorful and at times painfully realistic picture of the time and the people. Written like a classical suspense, the author holds the readers interest with complex characters. Detective Inspector Rudyard Bloodstone, the rough and tumble homicide investigator, is a man of shrewd determination, methodical and very funny at times. The villain, William Everhard, is a worthy foe Detective Bloodstone. - Tommy K Amazon

Amazon Reader- Silk is a must-read! It reaches out and grabs you from the opening page and doesn’t let go until the very last bit of suspense. Silk has brilliantly drawn character and skilled dialogue. The pages whipped by. It’s been decades since I was so captivated with a book.

And Detective Inspector Rudyard Bloodstone is quit the character. A little rough around the edges, but very loveable. There is a little love interest going on by mainly wonderful suspense. Tons of twists and turns to keep the excitement going. Big warm feelings for Silk.
