Thrown into a secret, magical world on her birthday, college-student-turned-magi Melissa struggles to find her place amidst a raging conflict she never knew existed. Between her enigmatic and deadly servant, Fawlk, and her entire world crumbling down around her, Melissa finds she needs to take the offensive before she loses everything.

Paul, an experienced and generally apathetic magi, spent the last several years of his magical career bouncing from thrill to thrill, unconcerned with the consequences of his dangerous and deadly hobby. However, when his own real interest takes a turn for the worse, he suddenly finds every motivation he ever needed to throw himself into an underground crusade.

As the two come hurtling towards their prospective targets, they’ll find not only is war brewing, but they’ve thrown themselves directly into the middle of it. There’s one important rule in the world of the magi: survival is not guaranteed.
