Description

New York City, 1987. Eighteen-year-old Santana Velez has the talent to be a star. When she’s scouted by a rising record producer, it seems like her dream of breaking into the music business is finally within reach.

But behind the flashing lights and pulsing 1980s dance beats lies a deadly underworld of drugs, corruption, and murder. When her gang-affiliated brother steals from a powerful criminal syndicate, Santana is forced to navigate a treacherous maze of crooked cops, violent enforcers, and predatory power players just to keep herself and her loved ones alive. As bodies pile up and betrayal cuts close to home, Santana must choose: walk away from her dream or use it to expose a conspiracy that reaches all the way to the steps of The White House.

BREAK OF NIGHT is a gripping, high-stakes urban thriller, a nail-biting tale of revenge and redemption.

There’s no telling how far you’ll go, when there's nothing left to lose

I really was invested in this urban thriller novel, it had that feel that I was looking for and enjoyed getting into this world. The characters worked well in the urban setting and had that feel that worked in this type of book. Damian Wild has a strong writing style and was glad I enjoyed this as much as I did.
