Life is good for Dasha Davidovsky. She lives in a weathered old house deep in the Catskill Mountains. She took a vow of poverty and service to the poor when she was baptized and Jeremy, a local guy she likes, is interested in marriage.

But on one brutally cold and fateful night Dasha is mugged, knocked unconscious and left for dead on a dark street in Brooklyn.

Gage Clarendon, a handsome stranger, appears out of the dark and whisks Dasha away to his home to recover.

And of course, this being a romance novel, they fall in love.

But Gage is rich beyond what most people can comprehend. He lives in a tinted glass penthouse designed to look like an iceberg and he doesn’t believe in God or anything else.

Dasha isn’t going to abandon her religious practice to live the mindless life of the super-rich in the city and Gage isn’t going to leave his life of opulent wealth to live in a trailer park of religious extremists deep in the mountains.

Finally, with a painful heart, Dasha wrenches herself away from Gage and returns to Jeremy and her life in the Catskills. But nothing is the same now. Dasha is tossing and turning at night. Leaving Gage was hard but living with the decision is even harder. And Gage is alone in the city, missing Dasha terribly and wondering if his sole worth is the money in his bank accounts.
