Description
Brick by brick - the Holy Grace Church is taking over the northern Idaho town of Dunkirk. Jason’s business has been evicted, and he needs to find a new spot for his musical instrument shop, but available spaces are rare. The growth of the church seems inevitable, and the options for resistance are few, but the community slowly recognizes the need to meet the challenge.
Book by book – the State legislature is banning “objectionable materials” from libraries and restricting minors’ access to library collections. Jason’s Panhandle Authors’ Group recognizes this as a threat to their art and they take action to protest the censorship; however, there are many roadblocks to their efforts.
Jason has problems of his own - born with a condition that makes it hard for him to find acceptance. After years, he finally has a circle of friends in Dunkirk, but state politics and the ominous spread of the Holy Grace Church make leaving town an increasingly attractive choice - until something happens that makes leaving seem like the only possible option.
