Sometimes you’re just in the right mood for the book you pick up, and that was the case for me while reading this one. It was a fun to tag long with Chris as he tried to figure out the secrets behind a piece of alabaster that seems to have ancient origins and mystic healing powers. His journey includes lots of legends, bits of history, unpleasant treasure-seekers, a misguided MI5 investigator, surprises, and some moments that restore your faith in humanity.
