Tell Them Goodbye is based on true stories blended together to show the epic journey of two teenage immigrants.

Sino and his cousin, Martín, are running from their cousin Adal's marijuana operation after witnessing Adal murder their cousin Javier, who was responsible for growing the plants. Fearing for their lives, Sino and Martín run from El Petaco—their family ranch—in hopes of escaping danger and protecting their loved ones from Adal's wrath. However, before leaving, the pair hatches a plan that includes stealing two goats, making it to Arteaga, getting on as many buses as it takes, and paying a coyote to smuggle them across the U.S.-Mexico border.

The journey ahead is already challenging; however, the duo must also evade Adal's assassins, fight off ruthless robbers, and navigate their way through Mexico's class prejudices, violence, and exploitation.
