Erin Macalister left the city to take care of her sick grandmother in the place she grew up in. This could not have come at a better time since she is dealing with the breakup of her marriage. There she encounters Jamie McBride, the boy she loved when she was seventeen, who is still the one that makes her heart race.
I like this book because of the topics it covered like Infidelity, infertility and dementia. As a woman who is dealing with her inability to have a child that caused the breakup of her marriage this character had me rooting for a happy ending. How do you accept that the life you had planned is not the life that you are living? How do you deal with your own problems along with your grandmother?
In rediscovering her grandmothers past she discovered her future. I admire Erin’s ability to not give up trying to the best of her ability to get up after she had fallen. These characters were well developed. The conversations that flowed was real. As you learned about the grandmothers past and how it affected her daughter and grandmother, you cannot help but hope for the best. You did not want this to end.
I received this book for free from NetGalley through Tyndale House Publishers for an honest review. This review will be posted on Goodreads, Amazon, etc.
