In the spirit of beloved fantasy classics, the For Light And Song series was born from the age-old struggle between Light and Dark. A fantasy at heart, even more so, it is an epic yarn awash with the human experience. It has supernatural elements, but they are meted out deftly and judiciously, like the sprinkling of fine spices to make foods more palatable.
   There is action, romance, suspense, intrigue, resiliency, sorrow, redemption, and humor. At times you may hold your breath in anticipation almost chuckle out loud, want to stand up and cheer, and your heart may swell with emotion. Above all else, this is a tale of hope.

   Aleidon was once an ideal world to abide in, but due to regretful actions taken in the distant past, its inhabitants lost their supreme salvation. They have only their brief, corporeal existence to look forward to; for them, there is no Heaven, no covenant of a place in the thereafter. In effect, they are all damned for eternity. There only hope hinges on an obscure promise made so long ago, most have forgotten it, that one day the opportunity would come to change that.
   Tain is a disconcerted man, accustomed to tragedy. He returns home from attending the College of Minstrels, only to find his life shaken to the core once again. Through odd circumstances, he is imprisoned with a diseased cellmate, powerless to do anything but await his imminent death.
   The kingdom that is home to Tain, Carmagh,  has mysteriously lost its sanchenmach, the royal songman chosen to represent each participating country at the celebrated Games of Gathering held in the international city of Donnieglan. A replacement needs to be found quickly in order to make it on time to the events transpiring in the next few weeks.
  Meanwhile, there seems to be a plot against Tain and his oldest friend, Jehennal, a suspicious reshuffling of power that is taking place in certain countries, and a strange illness is spreading across the land. Moreover, this year things are going to be quite different at the Games of
