It starts in the night, a whisper on the wind that awakens Fjörna from sleep. It calls to her, a quiet invitation to know what she cannot yet see—the magic deep within herself, gentle and unyielding. It asks her to follow it into the secret, mystical places long guarded by the forest.

Frightened at first, Fjörna soon learns that she can trust not only her magic, but most importantly, herself. Even if it means embracing all the ways she is different. Even if it means defying her family, and accepting that she is falling in love with her best friend, Streya. 

Fjörna’s sensitivity leads her to seek the solace and richness of her inner landscape. But when the town healer, and her mentor, Naima, is secretly recruited by Princess Ichante to save the life of the king from a mysterious illness, Fjörna finds herself thrust on a quest deep into the Thoraki Mountains in search of a magical cure. Together they must find Ylva, a mystical wise woman hidden deep in the woods, whose magic is the only chance they have at saving Ichante’s father and preserving peace in the realm. 

But all isn’t as it seems, and when Ylva’s magic reveals a terrible secret hidden by the crown for generations, Fjörna and Ichante find themselves tasked with a new purpose: to heal the wound at the center of the kingdom and restore magic to the land they love.
