Description

Welcome to the New Nuclear. Welcome to NANO.

American scientist Dr. Michael Faris is blackmailed into creating doomsday nanotechnology, but then travels to the Middle East, China and Russia to avert a global catastrophe … from the weapon he has helped make.

NANO is a global sci-fi techno-thriller with the highly contemporary theme of asymmetry: between nuclear warfare and A.I.-enabled nanotech; between the disruption of technology and the balance of humanity; between the world, its superpower states and the nuclear family; and ultimately between a man, his wife and daughter.

NANO has been envisaged as the innovative fusion of global geopolitics and science-fiction; balanced between the contemporary journalism of TIME and WIRED magazines and the best-selling thrillers of Tom Clancy and Michael Crichton; between real science fact, such as the White House’s National Nanotechnology Initiative, and global science fiction, as featured in Hollywood blockbuster movies such as Spider-Man, The Avengers and James Bond.

As part of the new exciting global franchise series, Technopolis, NANO is internationally released as the cutting-edge fast-paced cinematic novelization of a highly acclaimed screenplay and forthcoming film, which readers first can enjoy as a book, then as audience members at cinema theaters. Published on July 4, 2026, to mark the 250th Anniversary of the founding of the USA, NANO pays tribute to the literary cultural milestone of the Great American Novel, the cinematic cultural milestone of the Hollywood Movie Blockbuster and the innovation cultural milestone of the Global Intellectual Property (IP) Franchise.

NANO is written by Talal Malik, CEO, Founder and Senior Writer-Producer of global media and entertainment firm, Alpha1Media. Educated at Oxford University at the same college as J. R. R. Tolkien, famed author of ‘Lord of the Rings’, and trained at the same prestigious writing program as Ian Fleming, famed author of ‘James Bond’, Talal Malik has written NANO specifically for global readers to enjoy as a cinematic page-turner in their hands.

Commercial Praise for NANO as as Film Project

NANO and the Technopolis franchise have been created also for their commercial potential, which has also been recognized by the global film industry.

Sami Arpa, CEO of Largo A.I., the Hollywood and Swiss artificial intelligence film projections company which received direct investment from Hollywood cinema icon Sylvester Stallone, renowned for the film franchises ‘Rocky’ and ‘Rambo’, in February 2025, said the following about NANO as a film project and screenplay at the Berlinale Film Festival in 2022:

“We have strong sci-fi, thriller and action(genre) patterns, and actually this pattern – once I look at that it … reminds me of ‘Interstellar,’ which we have very similar patterns with … and (also) this corresponds to a 324 per cent return on investment (ROI) on the budget.”

In reference, ‘Interstellar’ is a 2014 original epic sci-fi film directed and co-written by Hollywood mega-auteur Christopher Nolan, which ranks 8.7 out of 10 on IMDB.com and was produced on a budget of $165 million made $758.6 million.

The following is based on Hollywood studio coverage of the project and its potential, listing the project as ‘Recommend’ for production:

“Films like these only take off the floor when A-listers are attached to it, or an established, commercially-successful director agrees to direct it.”

“Optimistic about its saleability quotient, despite the film being an expensive undertaking.”

“Strong pitch as part of a franchise - studios love franchise projects, especially action thrillers that have a proven market.

“This film banks on a familiar premise and it explores universal themes. It has all the ingredients for a commercial blockbuster.”
