A doomed scouting trip to the open seas proves that even when you can see the future, you never have the whole story. And you still may not be able to stop it.

Christopher Clark is not a normal boy. He is an amber—a subspecies of humans who possess superhuman abilities. But even amongst his kind, he is a rarity. He inherited his gift of precognition from his late mother, but if she couldn’t prevent her own death, what hope does he have? In an attempt to move past his trauma, Chris embarks on a boating trip with his friends in scouts. Everything is going fine until the crew and passengers begin to die, starting with the oldest, though, not before it robs them of their memories.

After the tragedy runs its course, Chris becomes separated from his friends and his true love. He awakens with no memory of his past on a hidden island in the middle of the ocean. Here he finds himself responsible for reawakening the local population of elves, sea-dwellers, and other races, who call the disease The Enchantment. They have been asleep and in stasis for centuries, and he may be the only one who can fix it permanently. But with the good comes the bad, when the victims start to remember their conflicts as well as their joys.

War is brewing. Will Chris be able to maintain his personal thesis of radical non-violence, or will the opposition he faces push him past his limits?
