Guided by light. Hunted by shadow.

Eryn longs to destroy the twisted beast that was once the woman she loved. All weapons that touch it crumble, and after years of failure, Eryn holds little hope of ending her beloved’s suffering. So when an imprisoned immortal offers what Eryn needs, she has little choice but to accept their terms. All she has to do is stop the fool who’s trying to free the immortal’s enemy.

A clue leads her to meet Arlan, a lord who craves justice for the deaths of his father and sister at the hands of a mage. Without magic, he has no power to confront the Mage Guild over concealing the truth. But when Eryn is targeted by a masked mage, the Guild’s lies begin to unravel.

Caught at the centre of a questionable Mage Guild operation, the pair finally realise what the immortal really sent Eryn to stop. Both must face their painful pasts to survive the remnants of an ancient conflict, and Eryn will have to decide what she’s willing to sacrifice to finally put the woman she loved to rest.

What can I expect?
Echoes of Chaos is dual POV, with a fiery, independent female lead, and a kind, thoughtful male lead. It also has a dog-sized-cat animal companion, prophecies, empathic bonds, a romance subplot, and LGBTQ+ characters.

Do I need to have read Gabrielle Steele’s standalone book Reborn in Ash?
No! Set two hundred years after the events of Reborn in Ash, ECHOES OF CHAOS is the first instalment of Elements of the Fallen, an epic fantasy series with a new cast and new ways to break your heart.

This book contains content with adult themes. See links for content warnings.
