An epic heroic fantasy of invading armies, dark sorcery, forbidden love and an orphan’s unexpected claim to the throne.

Peace has held in Wrodor for generations. It ends in a single season of fire.

An army has risen from the southern sands, hundreds of thousands strong and led by the ruthless Ra-Haizur and his sorcerers. It’s carving its way towards the King’s capital, leaving burned villages and the dead in its wake.

Behind the high walls of the Abbey of Bronze, Galeran lives among the illegitimate children of Wrodor’s nobility, hidden away so no rival house can murder them for their claim to power. On the eve of his eighteenth birthday, he must choose between taking the monk’s vows and running away with the woman he loves.

Fate makes the choice for him.

The enemy’s elite soldiers descend upon the Abbey, leaving Galeran as the last thing standing between hundreds of children and slaughter. To save them, he must lead them across a war-torn land towards the Kirc Woodland, through soldiers, outlaws and horrors conjured by the Ra-Haizur’s magic.

As Wrodor’s nobility falls, Galeran discovers he may be next in line to the throne. First, he must survive.

The Last Sanctuary is Book One in the Blood of Wrodor series. Perfect for readers who love heroic fantasy, brutal battles, unlikely leaders and the epic storytelling of David Gemmell, Jeff Wheeler, Kel Kade, Bernard Cornwell and Alec Hutson.
