Avalon: Companions is the first book in a science fiction series about the alternate world of Avalon and the "Hidden Folk" of Icelandic myth. The Hidden Folk escaped harrowing persecution in their early days on Earth, using their native abilities to reach Avalon, a sister world to Earth. There on Avalon, they gained great powers. We have both friends and enemies in Avalon, but the enemies have now gained the upper hand, releasing a deadly virus to exterminate all humans and conquer Earth once and for all. Dan Monroe and Claudia Chantal race against time to uncover the deadly plot and find the cure.
Marketing Plan
An avid science fiction and fantasy reader and aspiring author, Andy Free grew up on the east coast of the US and now lives out west. Along with George Lucas, he is a big believer in the "mono-myth," Joseph Campbell's term for a hero's story (in his book The Hero With a Thousand Faces). Having fought many battles with perfectionism in his own personal "mini-mono-myth," (which accounted for the 14 years it took to complete book 1!), Andy is now hard at work on books 2 and 3 of the series. Book 2 is planned to be self-published by the end of 2016.
