A sweet story about Josefina and Aidan. She's searching for something tangible but as she soon discovers, emotional as well. Aiden seems gruff but fans of the genre know that he's sweeter than the candy he makes. A good read.

A fun chick lit escape about a woman named Josefine who is a lawyer that has been the good girl all of her life. She has to travel to Scotland when a ring in her family goes missing, and the adventure abounds! Cute chick novel I would recommend!

Josefine Sonnethal is just weeks away from marrying her fiancé. A bridal ring heirloom has been stolen and said ring has legends and mysteries that were passed down through the generations. Josephine had to drop her life as succesful lawyer and neatly planned life plan for a family and children on a hunt to find the missing ring. When she got to Scotland her twin great-aunts (who are so charming) were already there along with a man who may put a stop to her happily ever after.

This is a cute story where roadblocks are thrown in front of main character Josephine's way (cosmos trying to tell her something she needs to see) so that she can have a fulfilling life, Adorable and funny

A light escape that had me reminiscing about Scotland and wishing I could go back!

Josefine is looking forward to her marriage to fellow lawyer Justus. They have been together for a long time and things are comfortable. A couple of weeks prior to the wedding, her mother breaks the news to her that the family heirloom ring that each bride wears on their wedding day is lost. Distraught because it's been handed down through generations and whenever the bride doesn't wear it the marriage has been doomed but on reflection the family work out the Josefine's cousin Charlie (or Charlotte) has run off to Scotland with it to her Scottish boyfriend.
This is where the adventure begins as Josefine is sent to Scotland to retrieve the ring and Charlie, with only a postcard that Charlie has sent to go on. After having a panic attack on the flight over and being comforted by a very charming man called Aidan Murray, she has to overcome the shock of seeing her two elderly great aunts waiting for her at the accommodation in Edinburgh. They believe it's their duty to support her while she is searching for cousin Charlie and they provide great comic relief during the story. Embarrassed to cross paths with Aidan again, it takes Josefine a while to accept he is also part of that journey.

I really enjoyed this story, it just rolled along at a nice pace. It brought back vivid memories of Edinburgh and travelling up the the Cairngorms, it was almost like I was there with them. I loved Aunt Bri and Li and the mischief they got up to, providing some very light heart hearted moments to counter a very serious Josefine. I did like Josefine's character but there were times when I thought she acted like a selfish teenager and not a 30 yr old lawyer that practises in family law!

A nice book for some light escapism, thank you to Netgalley and the Publisher for a copy to read and review.

Sometimes you just need a bit of an escape. “Kissed by the Rain” was just what I needed after a few heavier books in my reading list. Who doesn’t like a nice love story with a lovely Scottish baker? With a strong female lead, and a series of events that force our two lovebirds together, Claudia Winters latest romance novel is familiar in a comforting way. If you enjoyed Leap Year than this will seem similar to you. But instead of simply chasing after a fiance, Winters gives us a pair of feisty aunts, a magical ring, and a whole slew of characters that help wrap up the whole story. I enjoyed that it wasn’t simply a love story but also a family story with just enough of a cozy storyline to move everything along. It was light and fluffy and just what I needed to cleanse my palate for the next few dark mystery novels I have lined up. There is even a couple of recipes at the end that look delicious.

Kissed by the rain is a book about Love, Romance, adventure and a little bit of magic!

Josie is currently engaged to Justus. They work together in a Law Firm.

Josie's Grandmother has a family ring that is given to each young lady on their wedding day. Without the ring, the marriage is doomed and the brides fate is sealed!

Charlie is Josie's cousin and she believes Justus is not right for Josie so she steals the ring and heads off to Scotland.

Josie quickly learns of her Cousins deceitful deed and embarks on a journey to Scotland to get back her ring so she can happily Marry Justus.

On the plane to Scotland, Josie has a panic attack and a mysterious stranger captures her attention for the wrong reasons!
Aidan is on the plane talking on he's mobile phone, Josie gets angry as she is petrified this will interfere with the plane so she takes it upon herself to tell him to stop.
Aidan soon takes an interest in Josie and questions her journey to Scotland, without realising it she clings onto he's hand in fear.

As they land they go their separate ways.
Only fate has other ideas in store for them!

Bri and Li are Josie's twin Aunts. They arrive in Scotland to help Josie find Charlie.

I loved Bri and Li's characters they were full of fun and humour with a little mix of naughtiness. They added fun to they adventure. Keeping Josie out of trouble.

I really enjoyed Aidan's character he was strong and sexy everything Judus isn't.

The chemistry between Josie and Aidan is really special, the have a love/ hate relationship in the beginning which then develops slowly into something a little more sizzling.

Without giving anything away, Josie's adventure is one of self discovery, she learns the true powers of the ring and the path it leads her towards.

I enjoyed this book. It was a little slow to begin with and in some places, but once it got going the story was enjoyable and easy to read. It was a feel good book with a little romance and a little bit of chemistry.

Claudia Winter's Kissed by the Rain is a fun romance translated by Maria Poglitsch Bauer. If you loved the movie Leap Year (Amy Adams, Matthew Goode), this will definitely strike your fancy. Bauer chooses the right words to convey this story and make it enjoyable and unforgettable.

Josefine Sonnenthal is all set to marry her colleague, who is Jo's definition of perfect. However, the precious family ring that every bride in her family should wear is missing and without it she can't get married. If she gets married without the ring her marriage is destined for doom. When she finds that her troublesome cousin took the ring and ran off with her boyfriend to Scotland, the adventure begins in earnest. Scotland seems to be a reflection of Josefine's inner turmoil. Everything that could go wrong, goes wrong. It's constantly rainy and the ridiculously handsome man, who tried to crash her plane with a cell phone, seems to be following her around. Add to that her twin great-Aunts tag along for the ride with their constant bickering.

Kissed by the Rain is an emotional rollercoaster with a comedic edge. Jo is as stubborn as they come and she forges ahead with her plans no matter what. Walking around in an ugly oversized sweater doesn't slow her down, and neither does Aidan Murray. It seems fate has its own ideas about Jo and Aidan and steps in every now and then to bring them together.

Josefine wasn't always the most upstanding character throughout the novel, but her journey to Scotland opened her eyes to a better way of living. It brought her a better understanding of herself and her family. Kissed by the Rain is not a superficial romance, but one that will fill your reading experience with laughter and joy.

A copy of this novel was provided through NetGalley by the publisher in exchange for an honest review. This does not effect my opinions in any way.

Despite the concept and general speed, I wasn't all that impressed by Kissed by the Rain. I thought it was a solid release but also very, very standard in terms of plots and characters--almost feeling familiar in the wrong sort of way. You know the type, right? It's a decent enough book (and the writing is quite velvety and smooth) and all, but I had this feeling the entire time that I'd already read it several times before. For me, that makes reading the novel itself very tedious and because of it, I almost put the story down on more than one occasion.

This isn't to say that it didn't have its good parts--I did find myself enjoying a few scenes and characters, which is why it's right in the middle in terms of my own rating. You've got to remember while reading my thoughts on it that they are mine and mine alone; it doesn't determine your taste or the overall quality of the novel. I did like the twist of mystery in it--the whole idea that a ring was something that would determine the fate of our main character. Something about this superstition lifted the quality higher and put the plot in a direction that gave it a much-needed boost.

That, paired with the settings, and the characters, spiced up an otherwise standard story. I appreciate that a lot. However, it wasn't enough for me to feel compelled to pick up the novel ever again or give another star to my rating. I thought Kissed by the Rain did what it could with its plot and at times felt like it was going to lose its footing but didn't.

Kissed by the Rain has a series of likable characters to connect with, that find a balance between heart and soul as well as sport a solid approach to someone making a decision of coming into their own. This is what will make the read satisfying for its target audience--and keep them on the edge of their seat in curiosity and enjoyment.

Fans of a quick, fluffy yet mysterious read, will enjoy reading this one, though. I see it as a really good beach read for the

We meet Josefine, the woman who has it all under control - with a successful career and a stable relationship - with the same partner for 9 years. All is fine and she is about to get married. This is when Josefine suddenly hits a dilemma, her grandmother insists that the wedding cannot take place without the family ring. Before she realises, Josefine is on her way to Scotland in the hopes of tracking down her cousin and the ring. After a chance meeting with Aidan on the plane, we become aware that their stories are more closely entwined than we first anticipate.
I became completely engrossed in this book, Josefine is very likeable, perhaps a little serious, and Aidan is a complete dream. On the sidelines we meet the three sisters: Josefine's grandmother,Adele and her two younger twin sisters, Bri (Brigitte) and Li (lieselotte). They are all very entertaining and provide additional background to the story of the ring.
A great tale. Recommended.
