I will concede that this is a well-written book by an author who knows what they are up to and is confident in their prose and storytelling. However, I didn't like this book AT ALL. It's not a pleasure to read which is fine, lots of books are uncomfortable or challenging or dense in a way that does not make the reading experience....gentle, if you will. But I just felt like I was being dragged over hot road with this. That being said, I'd recommend it because that's a strong reaction that not many books give you, but just be forewarned.
