Sometimes you just need a little bit of fluff...Until It Fades is just that; a light and airy romance. It appeals to the part of us that loves fairytales and happy endings.

A journey two people take to discover and keep love. There are no major twists in this plot, at times it was quite predictable but that made it a light and easy read to just relax and enjoy it.

A slow paced story that is full of heart and soul, Tucker delivers a tale of learning how to love and live happily ever after.

Until It Faded may be a little lighter read compared to what KA Tucker fans are used to, but you definitely don't want to miss out on this Cinderella-esque story.

When I read romance, I can't help but be totally mesmerized and focused on the male lead, but Catherine stole the show for me in Until It Fades. She has overcame some hurdles from high school and made life work as a young single mother. I admire that kind of strength because I'm actually living it.

Readers who are suckers for strong females, cute as heck kids, and hottie hockey players really need to pick this book up. It's the perfect summer read.

K.A. Tucker Knows her stuff... she knows how to put us right there in the story... she knows how to creat characters we care about and she knows how to deliver every time.

This is a heartwarming story of two people who despite their differences find a way to each other through tragedy. The characters are extremely relatable. If you like sweet romances that bloom from adversity you will like this one. It’s not as steamy as the usual books I read but it was still an enjoyable read. I really wish the book had been written in a dual point of view. I think it would have been interesting to know what the male main character was thinking in some parts of the story.

Most of the obstacles in this story were self imposed by the main female character which was a bit frustrating at times. This is my first time reading a book by this author and I will definitely be reading more. It’s fun to read a lighthearted love story every once in a while.

I enjoyed this book. It's an easy read and moves at a comfortable pace. I was a little underwhelmed just because it was so predictable. But if you want to just escape for awhile into a nice romantic story, it's a good read.

Fans of the the slow burn, take notice, UNTIL IT FADES by KA Tucker is a lovely story. It was written very well, told first person POV via Catherine with a few flashbacks that don’t add much to the story until the end of it. This story has layers, layers that include teenage trouble, rocky parent relationships, good friends and believable fears.

One of the things that I truly appreciated about the story was the way that Catherine was written. As someone who doesn’t like attention, I thought the Cath anxiety of the limelight very believable. And of course, you cannot help but fall in love with Brett, who was in a horrific accident, lost a really good friend, was injured and still always tried to see the positive. Add in an adorable little girl and I would say that Tucker has another winner on her hands. Seriously…she was adorable and one of the best written kids I’ve ever read.

This was so disappointing. The heroine was very immature and I just have nothing to say because I could not continue reading about this relationship I spent too much time rolling my eyes.

I can't get in to this at all. I feel zero chemistry between the two MC's and I don't care enough about them to push through till the end of this.

This started out as a fun read, but got kind of cheesy after a while. It also ended rather abruptly and I kind of would ha d liked to see more from the characters.

As a teen, Catherine Wright makes a splash after her relationship with her art teacher goes public. Fast forward into the future, Catherine is a waitress and mother to a five-year-old daughter, and relatively anonymous considering her tumultuous past. Enter hockey star, Brett Madden—whose life she inadvertently saves one foggy night. Even though she's a regular "Plain Jane," Catherine completely enthralls Brett, and...yup—you know where I'm going with this.

"Until It Fades" plays along the Cinderella narrative. Yes, it's pretty predictable. Yes, it's a ridiculously slow-burn romance. But I didn't care in the slightest. Every once in a while you just NEED a good, swoon-worthy love story and this was exactly what I needed to survive a vacation with "that" side of the family. Having a "Brett" in my life would completely overwhelm me, but I love reading about these kind of relayshes.

Thank you Atria Books and NetGalley for my eArc!

Catherine has had a rough go of it in the past and is just trying to keep her head above water for her daughter and herself. Once Brett comes into her life, she's afraid her whole world will be turned upside down again.

Until It Fades does an amazing job of showing people in tough situations but still coming off as incredibly uplifting. You feel so much for these characters and their struggles that you're just that much more connected to their happiness. I found myself smiling and internally cheering for these characters when things went right in their lives.

I loved Catherine and how strong and self sufficient she was. I also loved the amazing support system she's built herself, from Lou to Keith to her brother and her dad, to even Misty (at times). Her mom had her moments when I really wanted to dislike her, but in the end, she's just a parent, trying to do what she believes is best and you can't hate her too much for that.

Brett is the ultimate perfect guy. Everywhere you look, he's all kinds of perfect and dreamy. The best part is, he feels that way about Catherine. He sees her for everything she is and loves the whole package.

Brett and Catherine's love story is not without obstacles, but I loved the way they dealt with everything that came their way. Honesty and communication drive this relationship (except that one big secret) and it was so refreshing to see that. Often we see so much miscommunication in books, where problems could have been easily fixed with just a simple conversation and I loved that Catherine and Brett actually talked to each other.

This book made me so happy, it's a perfect beach read!!!

This book might surprise fans of KA Tucker. Usually her books are either high angst, or high suspense. This one wasn’t like that at all. This book was a sweet, warm, slow-burn romance with tons of feels. Overall, it was a WONDERFUL surprise.

Typically, I like my romance novels to move along at a snappy pace. I generally expect the hero and heroine to meet in the first chapter and for there to be lots of action (nothing dirty...not necessarily, anyway) right away. The pacing of this novel was much, much slower than I usually care for, but it worked really well nonetheless. The slow pacing served to let me get to know Catherine, who was a GREAT heroine.

Catherine isn’t perfect. She made some dumb mistakes in her teen years and she was definitely proud to the point of stubbornness, (Note to Catherine: if a rich dude is responsible for the destruction of your car, let him buy you a new one. That doesn’t count as charity) but she’s a hard worker and a devoted mom. She was SUPER easy to root for because she was so relatable and so...real. I truly enjoyed the fact that though she’d been let down by men and she was understandably gun-shy, she didn’t let that destroy her. She was still open to the possibility of love and a life with Brett.

“I want the happily ever after. Even if I’m having a hard time allowing myself to believe it can exist.”

Brett was damn near a fairy tale hero. He was patient and charming and down-to-earth (which is surprising, as he’s a rich dude, a celebrity AND a super-talented athlete). The scenes where he interacted with Catherine’s daughter were adorable and swoon-inducing.

I will warn y’all that if you’re looking for a hot and sexy read, this one might not be for you. There’s a ton of sexual tension once Catherine and Brett meet, but their relationship is pretty much non-existent until the later part of the book. I enjoyed the slow burn, but if you’re looking for instant gratification, you might be disappointed here. (Your loss, though.)

Overall, this one is sweet and delightful, totally a “comfort” read that fans of Cinderella stories will simply adore.

(And a quick aside to the author: I would 1-click the crap out of Keith’s story, should you choose to write it!)

I loved this book. It was the kind of romance/love story I've been wanting to see written and published for a long time. Realistic, sweet but not gross, and not full of angst and heartbreak. A simple, straightforward story of two people meeting and falling for each other.

I really wanted to love because I usually love stories of the rich, sexy, athlete falls for the average girl next-door type but unfortunately Unit It Fades did not do it for me.

First it had to do with the characters. These two had zero chemistry. They were so boring and blah together. It seemed like such a fake romance with such a fake story. I just did not like nor could I believe they could be a couple at all.

Secondly, the story. I liked the idea of the single mother saving the life of the star hockey player and falling in love but the story fell apart before it even begun. There was way too much thrown in to really stereotype the female lead. Anything awful seemed to to happen to her… yet she was the strong single mom. As far as the romance these two hardly ever talked to each other but fell in love? I just couldn’t get into it.

I did finish the read but it was a real struggle. I usually really enjoy K.A. Tucker’s work but this was a big flop for me.

I give Until It Fades 2 stars.

*1.5 stars*

I'm a big K.A. Tucker fan. Huge. I associate her with some of my best, most angsty YA reads, and I think she really knows her stuff. That is why I was absolutely shocked that she wrote Until It Fades, which was surprisingly boring, utterly predictable, and full of cliches.

First of all, you have to know that this book is sweet. Sugary sweet, that utterly improbable kind of sweet that makes you roll your eyes. While the female MC might have had a somewhat checkered past, she is the quintessential "angel" female MC. She is pretty but doesn't even realize it!, she won't accept any money from people (even though she could really use it and people are practically tossing it her way), and she hasn't been with a man in years (re-virgin, alert!. Honestly, this type of perfect female character has never sat well with me. I like an MC with more flaws, less fake bashfulness, and more... oomph.

Despite the fact that I never connected with the female MC and that she and the male MC have zero chemistry, this book's worse crime is that it is boooooring. The plot moves at a snail's pace with little of anything to draw the reader in. It is tiresomely repetitive, with the same few points brought up over and over again. It is just... bland. Not offensive, but totally, utterly bland.

I also didn't love the male BFF being in love with the female MC. It felt almost love-triangle-ish, and it made me feel sorry for him and more grumpy with her.

That princess ending, that personality-less male MC, the lack of substance to the story... it all was a miss for me. I expected more from this author.

Until It Fades was a different sort of story by K.A Tucker, but it still maintained some of those quintessential elements that make her books her and special. I wasn't expecting to be so swept away by the story as I was. But damn, K.A Tucker got me attached to these characters, and this slow-burn romance. My heart is full after reading this one!

Catherine's past wasn't a pretty one - she has an affair with a 30 year old art teacher at 17. When her mom catches her, she is forced to make a testimony to the police. Only days later, she retracts the testimony to help the art teacher, in the process tarnishing her reputation. Fast forward 8 months, Catherine winds up pregnant. Like I said, Catherine can't catch a break, and it was hard to read about some of the decisions she made as a teen. A grown up Cath was a lot more easy to relate to. She had learned from her past, and was making amends in her life by giving her daughter the best possible life she can, and trying to repair the damaged relationship between her and her family. Given her circumstances and reputation, things were anything but easy for Cath, but she worked hard, and was so completely selfless, especially when it came to her daughter.

In a fateful turn of events, she winds up saving the life of hockey player and media darling, Brett. Brett, who I grew to love so much. He was very unlike any of the fictional hockey players I've come across in books. He was compassionate, sweet, and a gentleman in every way. The car accident that left him in crutches and one of his best friends dead altered his life entirely, but tried to work through it. Luckily, he has a great family to help him through his difficult time. And Cath!

The romantic relationship that grew between Cath and Brett was very slow burn. There's a lot of attraction between them, but because Cath has been hurt so many times in the past, she was hesitant to pursue any relationship with Brett, especially because of his fame. She, of course, eventually gives in to his persistence, and what followed was a lovely romance that gave me all the feels. He treated her with patience, and was an absolute gentleman with her. I loved the depth of his emotions for her, and even better? Brett grew a relationship with her daughter too. He honestly swept me off my feet with just how swoony he was! He was the perfect hero for a romance novel like this one.

Until It Fades was emotional and gorgeously written, and while the romance took a while to get going, I found the waiting to be one of the best things about the book. K.A Tucker is a must-read author!

Addictive, beautiful, a perfect fairy tale!

What did you love best about this story?

Everything, absolutely everything!

⭐ The story: A single mom, whose dreams were crashed after making several mistakes when she was a teenager, saved the life of a famous hockey player in a tragic car accident.

What looked like a huge nightmare for Cath, she being on the spotlight for being the “good samaritan”, turned out to be the best fairy tale/love story for Cath and Brett

⭐ The Characters: Cath was strong, determined and very responsible. She was a great mother, very loving and amazing. But she was still vulnerable for what happened when she was 18 years old. She couldn’t open to have a relationship anymore, so she focused on her only good thing in her life: Her daughter. Until she saved Brett’s life.

Brett was funny, talented, strong and confident, not to mention his heart was pure gold. Unique. He only had one goal in his life: play hockey, and he was the best at it. One of the best things about him: He always knew what he wanted and went for it.

And the secondary characters were all amazing. Little Brenna, Lou, Cath’s family, Brett’s family. All of them were awesome.

⭐ The HEA: Amazing!! Beautiful!! The perfect kind of HEA that Cath and Brett deserve.

Which character was your favorite?

Brenna was the cutest little girl in the world!! She was smart and full of joy. I love how Cath raised her, she taught her that dreaming was important in life, she taught her how to be always optimistic even though their reality wasn’t always the best.

What about Shayna Thibodeaux’s performance did you like?

Shayna’s narration was flawless. The pronunciation, the pace, the inflexions and emotions were 100% accurate with the book. I’m so happy I decided to wait for the audiobook before reading this book, because the performance made it all better. My favorite part of the narration: All the emotions Shayna put into every character. There was a part when Cath was crying, she was having a hard time with all the media attention and I could feel all the hurt and anxiety she was feeling. It was an great narration, I could say this is my favorite from all the narrations I’ve listened by Shayna.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Until It Fades is not the kind of story full of angst—thank God—but there was some drama in it, that kept me stick to the audiobook until 3am. I wanted to know what was going to happen next and I was completely satisfied with the ending.

There were moments when I was tearing up, especially when Cath was having doubts about her deserving to have a romantic relationship, and there were moments when I was laughing with the cuteness of Brenna, Cath’s little girl.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Absolutely. The story is beautiful, full of lessons for life, not only just a fiction novel, and one amazing HEA. 200% recommended.

Holy swoooon!

I adored every second of this book! I’ve read every book by K.A. Tucker so I definitely consider Until It Fades one of her more “lighter” stories. It’s actually unlike anything she’s ever written. Until It Fades was sweet, swoony, emotional, and full of heart.

I loved the build up of Catherine and Brett’s relationship. It was slow moving, which I can appreciate. Slow burns my favorite kind of romance! Brett was so sweet and impossible not to fall for.

Until It Fades truly is a fairytale kind of story. We get a sweet, dreamy hero and a butterflies-in-your-tummy type of romance. It’s the perfect book for all romance lovers out there!

I’m a HUGE fan of K.A. Tucker, especially her Ten Tiy Breaths Series and Burying Water, so I was really excited when Until It Fades was announced.

The author herself warned that this book was different from what she usually writes, so I was excited AND curious.

And yes, UNTIL IT FADES is definitely different, it may not belong to the “angsty” category I so much LOVE about K.A. Tucker, but this is a great reading anyway.

The characters are really appealing, the pace was great and I never felt bored.

Yes we could say it’s kind of a modern Cinderella fairytale, but K.A. Tucker adds big parts of crude reality, tenderness, humor ad of course, passion.

Catherine really had a very hard start in adult life, her relationship with her family is really complicated, especially with her mother, but she always go ahead, takes her responsibilities and never gives up… Despite difficulties, loneliness, an early pregnancy and motherhood, starving and being in need.

Catherine’s character is stubborn but deeply honest, she’s the epitome of integrity, in a city full of gossips and prejudice, but she goes on with her life, rises her daughter, with the help of some really good people, this family we create, not blood related.
Brett is really the “ideal man”, sexy, healthy…. But also famous… Each one is from a very different world, and after what Catherine went through, being back on the spotlight surely is the last thing she wants or need.

So with those tragic circumstances, the way their lives collided, it’s safe to say Cath’s and Brett’s story should be doomed from the start…

I really loves this modern Cinderella love story, because it has K.A. Tucker’s writing, so yes, it’s not like anything I read from her, but I loved it because it was refreshing, but also sexy and funny, ad with the perfect amount of drama.

A really great reading, and I was really glad to discover this side of hers. Less angsty but equally good, because…. K.A Tucker knows how to tell a story. YA, NA, Fantasy, Thriller, a modern fairytale, you name it!

Until It Fades is a bit different from the stories we have came to expect from K.A. Tucker, however, it still has just a little bit of suspense to draw you in. Like all of her books I was pulled in from the beginning.

Catherine is not our typical female character. When we meet her she is a teenage girl making mistakes that get her name in the papers and pretty much ostracized in her community. Years later she is just trying to take care of her daughter and lay low. Things change when she comes across a car crash and manages to save a man's life.

Brett is a world famous hockey player and thanks to Catherine alive.
The connection between these two felt real and I enjoyed every minute of this book! Aside from the car crash, this felt like a relatively light read. Yes, there was some secrets but it really was just a good book and felt realistic.I enjoyed reading this side of K.A. Tucker's work.
