Ruthless by Gina L. Maxwell is book Two in the Playboys in Love series. This is the story of Addison and Roman. I haven't yet read the previous book, so for me this was a standalone book.
Roman is Addison best friend Jane's boyfriends friend and they happen to meet when Jane wants to introduce them all. Addison and Roman have an instant lust connection but Roman doesn't want to risk his friendship on a quick relationship with Addison. But Addison isn't giving him much of a choice for a quickie. Roman has special 'taste' in the bedroom and his starting to think that Addison might be the first women he has met that would meet them.
But can they overcome the things they are hanging onto that might cause upset in the rest of their world?
Hot quick read!

Ruthless by Gina L Maxwell is the second book in her Playboys in Love series. I read this book as a stand alone and had no problems at all even though I didn't read the first book. I do have to say that this is one HOT book so be prepared for a very sexy read.

Roman has two lives one as a lawyer and another as a stripper with his two best friends. But he has also another part of his life that involves a more kinkier side of his life...he likes to share the women with his friend. When he meets Addison at the club one night they share a very hot encounter that night but little does he know that when he splits from his father's law firm to form his own that he'll be meeting Addison again. She agrees to try his kink and they become a couple, but when Roman jumps to the wrong conclusion both of them will need to find a way to find their way back to each other.

Addison has always fought for what she wants to do not her parents and when she decides to chose Roman's small firm over a well known firm, she wonders if they'll be able to keep separate their attraction for each other vs working cases together. Once she discovers that both Roman and Austin share their woman (Oh man the phone sex scene is a doozy!) can she decide that this is what is wants even when she falls in love? Their misunderstanding will need Austin to clear up the issue that broke both Addison and Roman but is it too late?

I have been looking at the first book the this series. It sounded interesting, but it wasn't to sure about it. Then beginning of the book had me stop and check out if there was more. I was impressed with this book. It's grabs your attention quick and doesn't let go.

Ohhhh yeah!!!!

Ruthless is some good ol' fashioned naughty fun with a side of "oops I fell!!!!" This smoking hot story is fun all around. It has a sassy honey badger heroine, a kohl wearing stripper with dual looks that could rival any fantasy, and an arrangement that is sure to make your clothes fall of in jealousy.

I am feeling needy now. I jumped into this series with Ruthless and feel torn. I know I need to read Chance's story (Shameless)...but I'm dying for Rowdy's. Guess I will need to read one while waiting for the other!!!

Really good romance. I liked both of them. The chemistry was good. I would read more of this author.

Steamy, sweet and sexy romance with a playboy full of contradictions.

Roman is ruthless lawyer and a stripper playboy who enjoys his kinky sex and sharing woman. Addison is a starting lawyer and a friend of Romans friend what makes her off limits. They are both determined to get their own way what gets things interesting quickly.

One night on her friend’s party they hook up – in the alley with another couple watching… It is hot, erotic, hard and amazing. They both lie to themselves that this was it until she comes to work for his law firm and stops fighting their mutual attraction and chemistry. They “relationship” is intense and full of sex. But things don’t go smoothly until the end when they find happiness and soul mates in each other.

I loved how we have two strong characters that just click together. Their attraction is visible to everybody. There were some clichés and predictable moments but it was entertaining nevertheless. I liked how everyone (in the series) has their particular kink and are not ashamed of it. The second book follows similar pattern as the first but with different characters.

So sexy and so very hot. Roman and Addison's chemistry is off the charts and the heat is nuclear. But, what really adds to this book is the surprising emotional depth. The connection between these two is so tangible that you can practically feel it through the pages of the book. Addison is a strong female character. She is wild, determined and a danger junkie. Roman is almost two different characters in one and yet, neither one complete. What happens when these two come together is both emotionally and physically explosive. Intense, compelling, and scorching hot!! A five star read that should not be missed.

I’ve found this one on Netgalley, even though it was released more than a year ago.

I gave it 4* because i didn’t quite get the hero being a lawyer by day and stripper by night, because even if he’s a total alpha, towards the end he seems less confident <spoiler>see their fight in the end</spoiler> and finally because it started really great, but then it simmered down somehow. In the beginning the main characters had this wicked smart, funny banter, with sexual innuendoes, but then nothing.
The smut part of scorching hot, though.

All in all, i really enjoyed it and i don’t regret reading it.

Holly Mother of Smut!
What on earth was that?
I finished this VERY hot and steamy book in one sitting and I don't know what to do with my feelings. One thing for sure though, I need a fan :) this was hot hot hot
AND it had humour! always a plus.
My favorite adult romance writers all add a healthy dosage of humour to their books and Gina Maxwell had me intrigued and laughing from the very first pages.

Roman was pure perfection. Successful attorney by day and hot dancer by night! I was intrigued and in love immediately. His two sides were unique, blended well together, and were both breathtaking.
Addison was a firecracker and deserving of her Wildcat nickname. Her sassiness and confidence won her many points with me.
They were truly perfect for each other.

Why not 5 you ask? Well, there are kinks I cannot get on board, even if only on a book... The one involving 3 being one of them... but that is a matter or personal preference!

Is it hot in here or is it just me?

Because boy oh boy was this one sexy ride you guys! Who knew lawyers could be such a dichotomy of pure efficiency and raw sex appeal, but Roman and Addison pulled this off effortlessly. He's a buttoned up lawyer one moment and a sex God in the next, and she's a take-charge ball buster with a side of sex kitten. Together they are simply incendiary!

While the chemistry between these two was intense and complete lust at first sight, the relationship aspects between them took awhile to build. I think this worked out well considering the fact that their personalities were as such that you knew they were a even match for one another right from the start. That scene in the alley at the beginning of the book...wow I can't even begin to tell you just how hot they are together, so I'm not going to keep trying, but definitely read this one for yourself because it is sooooo good!

Bad boy meets the girl he just can't resist. Sexy girl wants the man she can't have. The two collide in "just this once" steaming roll in the sheets. However, they both know once will definitely NOT be enough. What begins as a sexual cat and mouse game turns into something deeper than both of them is willing to admit that they want. The story was okay, though the "sharing" aspect kind of tarnished its luster.

Ruthless is the second book in the Playboys in Love series by Gina L. Maxwell. Each book is a standalone story and they do not need to be read in order for you to enjoy or understand them. This book was hot and I really enjoyed it! The Playboys in Love series focuses on a group of guy friends that are male strippers after hours and outside of their day jobs. I love this concept, and Gina L. Maxwell definitely doesn't disappoint with these guys!

Roman Reeves is a hot shot lawyer by day and Ruthless the sexy exotic dancer by night. He doesn't have many rules, but he definitely doesn't date friends of friends. Everything changes when he meets Addison Paige though. Since she is a friend of a friend, she is completely off limits, except that he soon finds himself unable to stop the attraction between them. But things get more complicated when she is hired for his firm, and he suddenly finds himself her boss. Roman isn't known as Ruthless for no reason though, and he is determined to have her even if it means breaking all his rules.

These two were super hot together, and I couldn't get enough of them. I will say that this book is on the erotic side, and readers should know that there are some situations involving menage and sharing partners as well as voyeurism. If any of that bothers you, this book might not be right for you. I honestly loved the chemistry between these two though, and definitely recommend giving it a shot if you like a romance with a healthy dose of steam! Roman has specific desires and kinks, and I loved that Addison was accepting of those. The banter was good, and I enjoyed this group of characters a lot.

Overall, I enjoyed this one a lot and would definitely recommend. There were a few things that kept this one from being a five star for me, one being the lack of communication and assumptions/judgments that were made. I understand the need for some conflict, but I find myself getting frustrated when characters can't talk to one another and let simple mistaken beliefs and miscommunication damage what they are building. Still a good story though, and the heat in this one was definitely worth the read. I am looking forward to reading more in this series from Gina L. Maxwell.

Another fantastic read by Gina L. Maxwell! I love this series (Ruthless is the second book in the Playboys in Love Series) and can be read as a stand alone.

This author writes a steamy story but its not just sex. The book has a great story & her characters are so interesting.

I can't wait to read the next book in the series.

Sexy hot, arousing, and funny!!...5+stars!

Ever since the first book, Shameless, I’ve been in love with this series.

The wait for Addison’s story is well worth it. Addison Paige is Janey’s feisty BFF who ordered up the Thor look-alike handyman who happens to be a stripper with Playboys 4 Hire. Now, she finally gets to meet the rest of the crew of P4H, and she’s got her sight on “Ruthless.” Only to be told “Ruthless” is off limits as he doesn’t involve himself with friends of friends. Well, that’s like waving a red flag to her “honey badger” determination: working hard to get what she wants if told she can’t have it. So funny to watch Addie at work on her challenge of seduction to get Mr. sex machine!

Favorite tongue twister line: “..the man I’m about to seduce just for funsies is my best friend’s boyfriend’s best friend.” Love it!

Roman Reeves is a successful lawyer by day, and a hot, badass stripper by night. He’s the quintessential Dominant who has particular tastes, loves control and has a penchant for sharing. He never expected Addie to show up as the new junior attorney in his law firm. And Addie is equally surprised. After their back alley tryst, both Roman and Addie can’t deny the attraction and chemistry that sizzles between them. Keeping it professional and keeping their affair under wraps is the hardest thing for these two. But Roman introduces Addie to his darkest desires, and watches Addie come alive with everything he shows her.

Ruthless is the second book in the Playboys In Love series and it’s become one of my favorite series by far. Ms. Maxwell infuses so much humor in her stories, and her characters are so well drawn. This story is well written, uniquely funny and seriously romantic. Oh, and the smexy goodness is off-the-charts hot. I love Roman and Addie, they are such a great match. I highly recommend this book for all fans of romance, it’s a must read. I can’t wait for Austin’s story.

After reading Shameless, there was one other character's story from the series that I was anxious to read; it did not disappoint. I honestly did not think ANY other character could be any hotter than Chance but boy was I mistaken! Again I say, IF ONLY THESE MEN EXISTED IN MY LIFE!! I have to calm myself down as I'm typing this because there is so much I want to say but I know I can't so I don't reveal too much.

Roman, *fanning myself*, a successful lawyer by day and an off the charts sexy stripper named Ruthless on the side. Roman has a set of rules that he never deviates from, the most important not to get involved with friends of their girlfriends. He enjoys his drama free life and wants to keep it as such. He hasn't had any issue with not breaking his rule, but in strolls Addison. She isn't like any woman he has ever encountered. She has over the top confidence and possibly more ballsy than most men 10x's her size. When it comes to something she wants, rarely does Addison take no for an answer; and she has eyes set on Roman.

I loved every freaking word in this book from start to finish. As of now, Roman is my favorite from the "playboys in love series". I just knew he would be the dirtiest (and freakiest) of them all, but I could not have imagined how far Gina Maxwell would take it; the name Ruthless truly fits him. There was never a dull nor hot moment in this novel. Besides the characters in her stories, that's one the top reasons why I love Gina Maxwell's novels. The writing flow's so easily and grabs a hold of you and doesn't let go until you've reached the end and realize its 3'o clock in the morning. Overall, I great read that will not disappoint.

Ruthless is the second book in Gina L. Maxwell's Playboys in Love series and boy was it super-duper hot!!!

I've always had a thing for super sexy lawyers in books and Roman fits the bill perfectly... did I also mention that he also is a stripper known as "Ruthless"... I have to admit that having read the blurb initially, I thought this premise wouldn't work (sounds a bit cheesy right?!), but it works and it works WELL!

Gina is a new author to me and certainly with this book, she has revved things up a notch and makes this book stand out amongst the myriad of other contemporary romance books being released at the moment

You met Roman and Addison in the first book of the series (which I immediately had to get hold of and read after having finished this book). I really liked Addison. She definitely wasn't a weak female character. She is ambitious, strong and isn't afraid to go after what she wants...

This book ticked all the boxes for me: it was engaging, fast-paced and very well-written. The characters were believable and there was humour, romance, passion, emotion and off-the-charts chemistry. This book is not for the faint-heated - Roman is a dominant kinky alpha, but Addison gives as good as she gets too

I really really enjoyed this book and can't wait for more in the series by this author. I do also hope the series gets an audiobook release as well
