I have read a few Lauren Layne titles, and for the most part, I have enjoyed them. I was avoiding Walk of Shame at first because I thought it was NA, and I am not a huge fan of the New Adult genre. In fact, most of time I can’t stand the angsty whining. I decided to take a chance on it after some research on Amazon and GoodReads, and I’m glad I did, though the book had mixed results for me.

Georgie is a happy go lucky socialite. She lives in a luxury apartment in Manhattan, parties at all hours with her clique, and tries to brighten the mornings for the concierge staff with daily donut bribes. The one low point in her life is Andrew Mulroney, a divorce attorney who also lives in her building. Andrew is like an attractive robot; everyday at 5am he leaves for the gym. Georgie plans her day around being in the lobby to verbally spar with him every morning. Theirs is a relationship built on verbal jabs and putdowns.

I did enjoy the banter between Andrew and Georgie. I also found the opposites attract aspects of the story incredibly fun. What I didn’t enjoy so much was Georgie. I guess I have absolutely nothing in common with her, and found her chosen life-style of partying (followed by charity work), annoying. It must be nice to have nothing else to worry about but which new dress you’re going to wear clubbing. I just found her very shallow. She’s 28 and is only now considering taking the job her dad keeps dangling over her head. Really? While I imagine that it might be a relief to not have to worry about keeping food on the table or a roof over your head, Georgie’s life-style made her completely alien to me. I could not relate to her, and I don’t think I wanted to.

Walk of Shame was complete fluff. It was a quick read, it consumed little brain power, and it was exactly what I needed when I picked it up. It’s just not anything that’s going to stick with me for very long. Pick it up if you enjoy light-hearted romances.

Ahh...Where to begin? This was a fabulous love story. It was funny, sweet, and sexy. Georgie is a socialite who parties all night and fundraises during the day. Andrew is an uptight divorce attorney. They met each other when they moved into their apartments on the same day. They didn't like each other and thus began a back and forth bickering every morning as Georgie came home from partying and Andrew starts his work day. He finds her cheery, animated attitude ridiculous. She finds him too stuffy. Their relationship builds and builds and it's just the sweetest thing to witness. I smiled almost the entire time reading this. It just made me happy. A truly wonderful romance. I voluntarily read an advanced reader copy.

Socialite Georgie Watkins is the kind of person that brings donuts to her building's doormen. The kind of person to buy a Burberry onesie for an acquaintance's new baby. The kind of person that donates her time to one charity after another rather than settle down in an actual paying job. Andrew Mulroney, Esquire is the kind of guy to think that's ridiculous.

Georgie and Andrew are sworn enemies -- but running into him every morning is the best part of her day. Georgie is determined to make the cynical, stodgy Andrew fall for her charms, just to prove that she can. See, Georgie is a sunshine and rainbows kind of girl. She believes in love. She chases the happily ever after. Andrew, though? As New York City's most sought-after divorce attorney, Andrew spends his days dividing up the assets for happily ever afters that didn't work out. To say that he and Georgie are polar opposites might be an understatement.

I've read a bunch of Lauren Layne, and this is the sort of story that I've come to expect from her. It's well-written, super cute, and so easy to read that I flew through it within a few hours. I absolutely loved the tension that built up between Georgie and Andrew as they fell harder and harder and yet refused to admit it. Slow burn doesn't always work for me, but I absolutely loved it here.

When I first picked up this book, it was exactly what I needed to forget about the stress at work and at home and just get completely sucked into Georgie's sparkling personality and sunny outlook on life. I can't wait to see what Lauren comes up with next. I will surely enjoy it.

☆☆☆☆

Oh my goofiness!! Ahhh...I loved this one so much. It was so cute, and funny, and serious and intense, all at the same time.

This couple definitely made my day. It's been a long time since I have been able to sit down and read a book in a day. This one caught me that hard, and wouldn't let me go.

What happens when a rich party girl with no job and a stuck up, no nonsense high profile lawyer go at it? You get this book.

Georgie is a New York socialite with no job, and nothing better to do than party. Because of an inheritance left to her by her grandmother, she was able to buy an apartment in a rather fancy building. Little did she know, on move in day, she would be getting on someone's bad side. Her and Andrew clash almost instantly. She loves to annoy the heck out of him, and does it ever chance she can. She was living a dream life, only working for charities she cared about. Coming and going as she pleased. Partying whenever she wanted. It was everything she wanted. Until she realized it wasn't anymore. Every girl wants her happily ever after. But no one ever said prince charming would be such a piece of work.

Andrew has worked hard to get where he is in his career. Making partner at one of the top law firms at his age, is unheard of. But brains and smarts come easy to him. So does his routine. His structure. Until Georgie! Not only does she make move in day rough, she makes every day complicated. She's messy, and parties too much. He's never seen someone more 'ridiculous'. He knows she annoys him on purpose, and it drives him crazy. Crazy is the last thing he needs in his perfectly boring life. But soon he realizes, maybe a little mess is worth it. Georgie turns Andrew's life upside down, backwards, and rightside up again. In all her craziness, she is one of the most sweetest and caring women he has ever met. He just doesn't know if he can handle it.

I was constantly giggling through this one. I have never seen bickering before, like I have with these two. One is so serious and the other is just along for the ride. It was rather interesting.

I loved Georgie. I loved her craziness. I loved her randomness. I loved her spunk. Just everything about her is rather awesome.

Andrew, Andrew, Andrew. Lord, I did not know what to do with Andrew. Lol. He had me wanting to strangle him, then kiss him. I'm so glad that he was able to loosen up a little and see the other side of the world. The more colorful side. The 'perfectly ridiculous' side.

Walk of Shame by Lauren Layne
Every so often, I come across a book that reminds me why I love the romance genre so much. Walk of Shame is that book. This was simple, gorgeous love story about two opposites attracting in the most explosive way. Whenever I pick up a Lauren Layne book, I know I'm going to get a well written story that keeps me interested, but what I sometimes forget about is the feels.
So. Many. Feels.
From the moment Georgie walked across the page, I was hooked. How could you not fall in love with this sweet, considerate socialite, who waited in the lobby of her apartment at 5am to catch a glimpse of, and spar with her dull, rude, infuriatingly hot neighbor? Georgie lived for those moments. She couldn’t start her day without it. Andrew may have made it seem like every word he spoke to Georgie was forced, but what he really cared about was self-preservation. The stuffy, too smart for his own good divorce attorney was about to have his world rocked, and he never saw it coming.
Too often, I feel like quantity takes precedence over quality, but not here. There was just so much to love about this book. The writing was flawless. Every time you pick up one of Lauren Layne’s books, you are getting high caliber writing. You are getting a well thought out story with great flow and development. You are getting characters that feel like old friends. My heart started racing at all the sweet, and my stomach would plummet whenever Andrew was a total jerk. I wanted to kick him, as much as kiss him. I suspect Georgie felt the same way
I have a total girl crush on Georgie. She was just so much fun to hang out with. She was tough when she needed to be, but wasn’t afraid to show her softer side. She made no apologies for who she was. Andrew was Georgie’s complete opposite. Stiff and gruff, nothing seemed to make the man smile. While I loved Andrew and his evolution during the story, Georgie was the real hero. She just had it all. More females in romantic comedies should take a page out of Georgie’s playbook. You don’t have to be a ditz to be endearing.
The storyline is a bit predictable, yet still perfect. It has a bit of a slow burn to it, but the simmering serial tension keeps it hot. Overall, this is another five star boom from Lauren Layne.

Walk of Shame by Lauren Layne is a cute story of opposites that attract. I thought it was a cute story with great dialogue and characterization. However, I was expecting a clean, fun romance and I was surprised that it was not that. I will not be reading other books by this author because of that, which is a shame because she writes great stories. I received a digital copy of this book from the publisher in exchange for my honest review.

WALK OF SHAME - Lauren Layne

HOT AND SEXY - 4.5 stars

Plot - 4.5 stars - Georgie makes no apologies about coming from money. She lives in a swanky apartment and spends her days working on fundraisers and her nights partying. Which means she's usually coming home at around 5 a.m., but carrying a box of donuts for the security guys in the lobby. After a while it becomes a habit for her to run into Andrew, the up-tight attorney who is just starting his day at 5 a.m., heading out to the gym before work. They've fallen into the habit of verbally baiting each other.

Writing - 4.5 stars - As always, Layne has drawn me in to the story right away by way of the characters. She has a knack for creating characters that are fun, interesting and varied--and usually someone I'd love to hang out with. Their back stories are well-drawn but not detailed enough to be tedious. And there are certain turns of phrases that make me smile, such as "martini-solve the problem," for one. Cute.

Characters - 4.5 stars - The sexual tension between Georgie and Andrew is immediately obvious, but it comes out as irritation (on his part) and a challenge (on her part). Georgie is much more well-rounded and intelligent than it seems on first glance at her lifestyle. And Andrew is hardly the stodgy lawyer that he appears, although his shyness and tenseness give that impression. They are totally perfect for each other. Georgie is light-hearted and friendly to everyone despite her upper-class upbringing. She brings a warmth and softness to Andrew's life that he definitely needs. And Andrew's solidity is also his strength, something safe and secure that Georgie is looking for. These characters are wonderful, and I liked them from the first page.

Title - 3.5 stars - The title is meant to grab the reader's attention, I suppose, although I didn't really think it described the book very well. I suppose it was meant to refer to the meetings they had in the wee hours of the morning, but it led me to think of something less-than-romantic when it couldn't have been further from the truth. I will admit that it got my attention though.

Cover - 4 stars - Attractive cover, a little more artistic than the usual male abs. The female character was perfect for Georgie. Despite the handsomeness of the male model, I didn't think he did justice to the image I had of Andrew in my mind. Good, but not a total winner.

Overview - 4.5 stars - Total fun! I happen to love the "accidental" romances from this series, and this one was no exception. Layne has a knack of creating wonderful characters that drive the story and make a romance inevitable and something to be applauded. She is able to create tension in such a way that it builds gradually from enemy (frenemy) to friendship to sex without getting boring or losing the reader's interest. Layne is a go-to author for me, and I'm rarely disappointed. I highly recommend this book...and this series.

A new Lauren Layne book? It makes my heart leap for joy because I just tend to fall in love with everything she writes. And well, I am a total cliche because I definitely fell hard for Andrew Mulroney and Georgie Watkins in Walk of Shame. There is just such a boundless energy of bliss between these two (much as Andrew would like to deny it). Their first meeting sets the stage for the book as these two battle their growing affections for each other.

Georgie is a bit of a party girl, a rich heiress who does not need to work for a living. Yes, she has that Kim Kardashian vibe about her, she even admits it. But if that is not your typical favorite kind of character, don’t despair because I just about guarantee that Georgie will win you over. She is smart-mouthed, funny, sweet, and kind. She knows she has the world at her feet but she isn’t going to brag about it.

Andrew is pretty much her exact opposite. He is THE up-and-coming divorce lawyer to the stars and is very much in demand. Which is why he has to workout at 5:00AM. That is when Andrew and Georgie’s morning run-ins start taking place. She’s coming in from a night at the clubs, he is heading out to get his day started. Totally night and day as it were! The crackling tension between them definitely belies the fact that they supposedly don’t like each other very much.

When Andrew and Georgie are caught kissing by a paparazzi, their worlds truly do collide. What begins as a bit of a fake-out gets real all too quickly.

There is just so much to love about this book. I thoroughly enjoyed Georgie. She is irreverent, smart, works hard and plays hard, and is all around charming. She screams vivacious but not in an annoying way. She appreciates life, loves her family, and adores being around her friends. Fitting Andrew into that picture is not easy at first but she soon realizes that it is crucial to her happiness.

Andrew is definitely more closed-off. He seems a bit mysterious at first until Lauren Layne digs into his character a bit more. It’s hard to imagine when he has time to sleep because it seems like he is working or exercising most of the time! (Not that the exercise can’t be appreciated, believe Georgie). Lauren Layne wrote one of my most favorite romance book quotes in sometime when she has Georgie describe Andrew thusly:

“If you’re wondering what Andrew Mulroney looks like while he’s in workout mode, picture this: Thor and Captain America somehow defeat biology and have a love child together. And call him Andrew.”

Andrew may look like a superhero but he doesn’t always have the right words to articulate his feelings for Georgiana. He makes mistakes, so does she. There is a great growth to their feelings for each other. And even though their romance takes place in a short span of time, for me, it felt very believable.

I really liked both of these characters. There is so much warmth to Georgie that it really does draw you in as a reader. She’s not a ditz, she’s not stupid, or any other stereotype you might believe about socialites. In fact, she’s a woman looking to shake things up in her own life. As for Andrew, I love the strong and silent type in my romance stories and while Layne plays up this aspect of his character in the beginning, by the end, Andrew’s own warmth and caring shows through. It’s not as in your face as Georgiana’s version but it is clear as a bell that when he cares, he cares deeply.

Walk of Shame is a feel-good romance with sex appeal coming out of the pages. Walk of Shame is available now and it deserves a place on your to-be-read pile.

Love Unexpected Stars

The Love Institute brings to you today's Seminar:
Today we have the pleasure of observing one an interesting couplings brought to you by the renowned author Lauren Layne. We have had many guests presenting their finding on the human condition know as Love...all of them revealing in their own way. Today's presentation is focused on two subjects who at first glance would have nothing in common. It is only after a more detailed look are we able to see how they connect.

Our first participant is Georgianna Watkins. At first observation she seems flighty, shallow, easily classified as a Trust Fund Baby who sleeps all day and parties all night. The most important things that fill her days are hair appointments, decisions of which night club to attend and whether she can make the right choice of Jimmy Choos to buy.

But with a more intense and revealing examination of Ms. Watkins, we see there is much more to this woman. She has an Economics degree from Brown and arranges the workings of many charity events. She is loyal, caring and sincere with her friends and makes the effort to listen when others are talking... no matter who it is. She goes out of her way to acknowledge those she is in contact with everyday...The doormen in her luxury building are not just doorman... they are like family... with daily donuts as she arrives home at 5AM. There is more to this pampered New Yorker....

Our other participant is Andrew Mulroney. Mr. Mulroney is serious. He is a highly sought after divorce attorney whose clientele is either famous, notorious or both. He also is one of the youngest men to reach partner in a prodigious firm. This would follow the path he has had... graduating high school as a young teen, doing college before most and finishing law school when others would be starting. At first glance, he seems collected, assured and confident. He can also come across as somewhat distant and abrasive.

However, with a more discerning eye, there are moments of insecurity, a sense of trying to keep up and the leftover feel of not belonging ... it is momentary but there. For if there would be one way to describe Mr. Mulroney, it is professional.

These two people become entangled due to their habitats. They both live in the same building. They both have habits which cause them to cross paths daily. However, the way and reasons for their crossing is unusual...

For when the clock strikes 5AM, Georgianna Watkins is coming in from a night of club hopping with her social set. She comes bearing Donuts for her doormen peeps and spends time chatting about soon to be had babies, wives and any other topics that happen.

At this same time, Andrew Mulroney is making his way out to do his run. He has his green drink in the stainless steel mug, his gym tote and dressed in black running gear. He will stop by and say hello to the doorman as a polite greeting and then the games begin....

Because Georgie, as everyone calls her, loves to push Andrew's buttons... and Andrew seemingly distant will retort something then say Georgianna is Ridiculous and leave. This has been happening for quite some time... and the both of them will never say it... but they look forward to these exchanges more then they want to admit.

They experience the classic confusion of What Does That Mean... they have to analyze comments said, blunders made while trying to have snappy responses...and it is enlightening to who these people truly are...Because both are lost...They both need each other and when the barriers fall and each is let in...They become better people.

This undertaking by Ms. Layne worked on many levels. It had all the feels, fun and intimate times to explore this search for Love.

The Love Institute would like to thank you for your participation in today's seminar.

Lauren Layne gave us a new snippet of Walk of Shame...
I don't know about you... but I was thrilled to have an additional taste right about now....
Excerpt:

“The server comes over to take our drink order.

“Champagne, please,” I say with a smile.
“Iced tea for me,” Andrew says. No smile.

“He’ll have a glass of the champagne as well. We’re celebrating,” I say with such friendly self-assuredness that the waitress writes it down and walks away without confirming with Andrew.

He’s giving me that half-amused, half-exasperated look that I’m getting to know quite well. “What are we celebrating?”

“My victory.”
“Do I even want to know what you’re talking about?”

I lean across the table with a triumphant smile. “You thought I wouldn’t last a day in your world. I’d say I’m flourishing.”

He leans forward as well. “In case you haven’t noticed, we quit being in *my* world the second you dragged me out of my office for a boozy lunch, and gave my assistant the rest of the day off without telling me.”

I smile. “Like I said. My victory.”

The waitress reappears with two champagne flutes, and I lift one towards Andrew. “Cheers?”
He rolls his eyes.

Lauren Layne gave us an itsy bitsy tease today...a quick reckoning of maybe these two have been confused about each other...

“Georgiana-"

I shake my head and bend to pick up my bag. “Have fun at the gym, Mulroney. I hope you choke on your wheatgrass.”

I’m still blinking back tears, but at least I manage to walk away with my head held high.

He catches up with me before I can make it to the elevator, his fingers wrapping firmly around my bicep and pulling me back around. “Georgiana.”

“What?” I snap, turning around. “What can you possibly say that you haven’t said a million times already with every scowl, with every eye roll, with every *you’re ridiculous*. You think I’m stupid and worthless, I *get* it.”

The guy’s expression is one tangled knot of emotional constipation. “That’s not what I think.”

What a super entertaining read! And while writing this review, I couldn't stop chuckling to myself! A couple of details have to be mentioned before I tell you why this romantic comedy had me flipping the pages from the beginning to end without stopping. The author's used first-person narration in present tense for the female protagonist which not only helped me invest in her heroine on a more personal level, but also made the story come alive. I often find myself struggling with stories told in third-person past tense and for this reason, have difficulty relating to the characters; so to say I was taken aback when reading the first paragraph of the male protagonist's story would be an understatement! In fact, I had to re-read it to make sure I wasn't seeing things! In my opinion, Ms Layne has been extremely adventurous by telling her hero's viewpoint this way, and I must say it's worked extremely well. Listening first-hand to Georgiana Watkins side of the story was a real treat. However, the change in writing structure for Andrew Mulroney’s story was for me, a great experience. If you enjoy laugh out loud romantic comedies and decide to one-click, you'll see why Georgie has a lot more to say than Andy!

“Someone’s playing games. I don’t like games, Georgiana.”
“Which is why you need to play them, Andy.” “It’s Andrew.”

Engaging in the female protagonist was hard work! I really didn't like her to begin with. Rolling my eyes while writing this, I found her obsession with certain makes of clothing, accessories, in places to wine, dine and dance the night away at hurt-your-purse (not hers) prices and gold credit cards be damned, profoundly shallow. Lucky for her, she'd never had money problems. Clearly, Georgie and I started off on the wrong foot. My mistake was judging her too quickly but once I got to know her better, she showed me she wasn't mummy and daddy's spoilt little rich girl; that her motivation to accomplish a change in what had become a monotonous life was steadfast. Georgie gained my respect, her huge heart sold me. Always aware of everything going on around her, she's totally on the ball regarding everyone in her life and goes out of her way be nice because that's just the way she is.

“Brought you something.”
“My wife says you’re going to make me fat.”
“Tell Marta that the dad bod is totally in style right now,” “Unless, of course, you don’t want a maple bacon donut?”

The banter is nothing less than superb. When Andy oversteps the mark, Georgie’s got to defend herself and doesn't think twice about taking a dig at him. While he's ready and waiting for her with dry-humoured comebacks, his tempered remarks are a combination of exasperated frustration and confusion. Much to his dismay, he also finds himself attracted to her. Yep, Andy's not quite sure what to do with his chatty distracting neighbour who sneaks in at the crack of dawn while he's about to start his day. Socialite extraordinaire, Georgie’s dead set on catching his attention though, but she stands for everything he abhors and is not about to succumb to her flirtations. Staid, workaholic, and a very successful divorce lawyer, Andy has little or no faith in relationships and certainly no time for the likes of this young pleasure-seeking beauty.

“You really are ridiculous, Georgiana.”
“So does that mean you’ll stay for dinner?”
“What? No. I swear, the lack of logic in your thought process never fails to astound—

It was a pleasure observing how Georgie wiggled her way under Andy's skin. And what I found more interesting was watching them meet in the middle. How she made him appreciate the smaller things in life, the things he'd been missing out on, was blinkin’ marvellous. I felt as if the palpable steaminess between them was going to ignite my Kindle and loved how their schedules conveniently crossed each other's.

“Okay, so I do know him, but like him . . . I’m not really sure about that. It’s more like . . .”“Delicious sexual tension.”
“I’m not sure the man has hormones. He’s sort of an ice king.”

The cover. Mmm, not my cuppa and in my book; excuse the pun, didn't even come close to doing the story justice. Nothing about it seemed right but the story per se, is great and its characters even greater, so all I had to do was change their looks in my head, et voilà! Although the storyline of Walk of Shame is a tad predictable, this tinsy-winsy setback didn't hinder my enjoyment. Its one of those reads that's guaranteed to cheer you up if you're feeling under the weather and I can't say how much I'm looking forward to reading all the other full-length standalone novels in the Love Unexpectedly series. Bravo Ms Layne!

Fantastic book... not a surprise coming from Lauren L! Opposites attract and in this story, while it takes them some time, they do attract to each other... a lot!

This book gave me all the feels. It was so much fun to read with lots of great banter between happy-go-lucky, breezy Georgiana ("Call me Georgie") and rigid, uptight Andrew ("DON'T call me Andy!"), but also plenty of heartfelt, touching, and sometimes painful moments. In general, I'm not that big of a fan of enemies-to-lovers plots, yet somehow, just as I knew she would, Lauren Layne totally made this one work for me.

As the book opens, Georgie appears to be a shallow socialite, just breezing through life, in total contrast to Andrew, a successful divorce lawyer, the youngest partner in his firm, who appears to live his life according a rigid set of rules, and who never strays from the straight and narrow. However, as the book goes on, the reader sees that although Georgie has no particular ambition or direction in her life, she's sweet-natured, warmhearted, and really enjoys brightening people's lives. Meanwhile, beneath his rigid exterior, Andrew is hiding a pretty formidable attraction to Georgie, but he's socially awkward and has absolutely no idea how to express this to her, so he resorts to figuratively pulling her pigtails, just like boys do in grade school to get a girl to notice them.

I loved watching Georgie try to draw Andrew out of his shell all the while trying to figure out whether his actions indicate that he likes her, or if he just wants her to leave him alone. The dance between these two was perfectly balanced and so much fun to read. I've only read a couple of Lauren's other books, but I definitely need to check out her back list.

Lauren Layne is back with another stand-alone in her Love Unexpectedly series. Walk of Shame is everything we have grown to love about Lauren Layne. It’s fast-paced, the characters are layered, and the chemistry always smolders. Yes, I said smolders. It’s true. It’s what I love about a Lauren Layne book.

This story incorporates some of my favorite tropes—opposites attract and enemies to lovers. Georgie Watkins is a socialite who’s not as shallow as we initially are led to believe. Yes, she loves to stay out late and party, shop, and enjoy a good time. But she’s got depth and Layne does a nice job of peeling away Georgie's layers.

This unfolding works perfectly, because we need to understand why Andrew Mulroney—the protoype workaholic divorce lawyer—would be interested in someone like Georgie. Likewise, why would Georgie, who’s holding out for a happily ever after have a fascination with a man who is waking up when she’s heading to bed, and solidifies the end of happily ever afters for a living? Everything about these two screams collision. They’re so opposite I scratched my head at the first couple chapters. Would this be the first Lauren Layne book I might not like? Blasphemy, I know.

Never fear. The bickering and bantering Andrew and Georgie have in passing at five in the morning sparks interest. And the more interactions they have, the more we realize they could work. Moreover, their differences make the relationship unique and interesting, to say the least. How they communicate and express themselves is priceless, keeping the pages turning.

I’m wearing a perfectly gym-appropriate Lululemon sprots bra, not at all different from what half the other women in here are wearing.

But the way Andrew is looking at my exposed tummy sure as hell makes it feel different.

His eyes burn not against my skin, and I realize I’m so totally in over my head. But backing down is so not an option, so instead of rezipping it like I want to, I place my hands on my hips.

“So?” I say, my voice a little lower than usual. “Show me your workout. Let me prove I can keep up.”

Andrew takes a step nearer to me, and my pulse goes crazy. Touch me. Touch me, touch me, touch me...Andrew’s fingers skim up my torso, over my rib cage, lightly, teasingly.

His breathing is harsh and I’m pretty sure I’m panting.

But it’s not just this unspoken attraction simmering beneath the surface that pulls us into their coupledom. It’s their banter that seals the deal.

“You have a bad habit of misinterpreting everything I say about you for the worst. Why do you think that is?”

“Oh, I don’t know,” I say breezily. “Maybe because you hate me? And because I’ve never seen you smile. Like, ever.”

He inhales for patience and punches the elevator button with an impatient finger.

“You’re ridiculous.”

You see, Georgie and Andrew are always at odds with one another. At least they start out that way, making judgments and verbally one-upping each other. That is, until they find themselves spending more time together. Helping each other out, God forbid. The antagonism shifts to intrigue—

“Fine. Fine. You win, Mulroney. I’ll get out of your hair...”

Which brews lust—

My eyes drop to his mouth, and even though I know he’s sick, my body remembers all too well what it felt like to have him pressed against me, remembers how hot and possessive his mouth was.

How I didn’t want the kiss to end...

Opening the door for so much more.

His hand drops from my shoulder, and he starts to cross his arms defensively, but instead lets his hands fall to his side as he exhales. “You always do that,” he says.

“Do what?”

“Assume the worst of me.”

...I turn back. “What should I stay? Just because you don’t dislike me? Because—news flash, Andy—I’m starting to think I really do dislike you.”

He flinches but doesn’t look away. “Please.”

Need you.

His voice is wooden, but his eyes are sincere, maybe even a ittle pleading, and...oh, damn. Damn.

Yup. We all know this will lead to love. Their journey takes time, but the wait is worth it. If you like enemies to lovers who are more opposite than snow and beach sand, this is the book for you.

A wonderful feel good romance about Andrew an divorce lawyer to the stars and his opposite Georgianna, an pamper socialite princess that lives in his building. At the beginning their relationship had consisted of seeing each other at 5 am in the lobby where she was coming in after a night of partying and he was starting his day by going to the gym.

Georgianna, is a free spirit, kind, friendly with everyone and loved by all. Andrew is reserved and finds her behavior ridiculous, like he loves to tell her every time chance he gets. Can they get past the bickering and become more then friends as 5 am becomes their favorite time of day? Be sure to read this delightful romance.
