No Time To Say Goodbye by Bill Adler Jr.
This was a weird read. Dennis kept losing Time. This was an ok read. I did find it slow. I wasn't sure how i feel about this book. I don't hate it but I don't like it either. 3*.

When a young doctor starts losing time, he at first thinks that he is ill and perhaps blacking out. But, when he wakes up in his own apartment and his wife is older, he realizes that he is traveling through time. How far into the future will he go and why?

Time travel and mystery are my favorite topics when reading. This, although short, captured my attention and did not disappoint.

Meh. It started out intriguing, then got too introspective for me. Also didn't realize it was a short story as I tend not to read those because they don't ever end. They tend to always leave you with questions, which this one does as well. Le sigh.

If I could capture what this book is like in one word, it would be "Different". I both liked and disliked this book. How can that be, right? I thought the author did a good job of drawing you into the main characters and their confusion about what was happening. Let's face it, Dennis did everything he could to try to figure out what is going on. He doesn't really get any answers when he had himself checked out physically. The emotions are stirred as he sees his life with his wife slipping away. That's the part that I didn't like so much but lets face it, it is an important part of the story. And it kind of grabs you, I thought it was pretty well done. The people building and the different world building was pretty well described and I was surprised at how much the author packed in the short amount of pages.
Answers come as the story ends but I also see some possibilities to take it further too. I kind of hoped that he would rage just a little bit when he finds things out at the end. But the good doctor responds to need and he is needed. I don't really want to say much more and possibly ruin it for others.
By the way, the cover of the eBook, really got my attention too.

Dennis found that he was missing time. The first time it happened, he lost almost an entire day at work. He was so shocked, as anyone would be, that he went to have blood tests done. The next time it happened, his wife claimed he’d been gone for two years!! It did not stop there. Dennis just kept traveling through time, hopelessly, without control. Why was this happening to him?

This little book is very well written. It is surprising what this author could accomplish in so few pages! This author creates some realistic characters and some interesting future worlds as well. The reason for Dennis’s travels is interesting. This is a fun, quick read.

I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an unbiased review.

Thank you NetGalley for providing me with a free copy in exchange for an honest review.

I really enjoyed reading this short story. It definitely caught my interested and I wanted to read more. While I understand that this a galley and is still in the process of being finalized, it still felt a bit to rough (i.e., many missing words and spelling issues); however, this roughness did not take away from the enjoyment of the overall story and I really enjoyed reading it.

The concept was fantastic. I love time travel. It was fascinating to read about Dennis and the difficulties he encounters being pulled out of his own timeline. I definitely think that this story has the potential to be expanded and built upon to ensure a more substantial and detail filled novel. I really want to know a LOT more about the ending and the causes of his time travel.

I would recommend this book for all YA readers who enjoy Sci-Fi.

Happy Reading and Enjoy!

Dennis Tanner finds himself inexplicably going forward in time.It starts with a jump of few hours or days, with his wife and work colleagues wondering where he disappeared to and he thinks theres something medically wrong with him but then the time jumps become years, decades and then centuries. He sees the world around him change drastically as time moves quickly on but can do nothing to stop it. He then meets a woman in the future who he gets to know and by the end of the novella we find out that Dennis, this woman and thousands of others forced into time travel are going to the future for a great purpose. Its crying out for a sequel.I enjoyed this novella and read it in one sitting.

I received this ARC from netgalley.com in exchange for a review.

Dennis was being hurtled forward in time, a few hours, then weeks, then years. He didn't know why or how to stop the propulsion.

A short story that was quick and fun to read. I liked the observations that were made comparing our current society to the future.

3☆

I really didn't know what to make of this little story I was interested enough to keep reading I like time travel books but this was very odd and I am still trying to process it.In one sense it showed great imagination and was perfectly well written but somehow it lacked spark its difficult for me to put my finger on it and It was satisfactory in one way but it just lacked some thing for me all I can say is that it was ok but I can't rave about it. If you are looking for a quick read to fill a journey or a spare half an hour or so its fine but also quite forgettable . Thanks to Netgalley and the publishers for an ARC in return for an honest review.

Captivating, engaging and fabulous. I loved this book. The book is a must read for every one. The flowing prose and strong characters and the well developed mystery hooked me in from the beginning till the end. I loved it and would recommend it to everyone,. A really great read

The provocative cover and the tantalizing description enticed me to read this book. Unfortunately, most of the positive aspects ended as soon as I began reading. Here’s why, without spoilers:

Plot: Basically, a decent idea. Dennis begins to travel into the future, can’t stop it from happening, and has no idea why he is being propelled forward through time. Author Bill Adler, Jr. might have been able to do something with this concept, but never developed it past the premise. Consequently, when the story reaches the climax, the explanations conflict with each other or don’t make sense, and the tale falls flat on its face.

Characters: The main character, Dennis, is barely developed, and the minor supporting players who flip in and out of the story are paper-thin. I kept reading because I wanted to find out why everything was happening, but didn’t care it was happening to Dennis.

Dialogue: Conversations between characters are forced, and at times, unreal. After being separated from his wife for decades, Dennis explodes and shouts at the ceiling “Why are you doing this to us?” He then drops an f-bomb, complains about being tortured, and shoots a fist at the ceiling while shouting “You have no right!” His wife’s response? “It’s okay, sweetheart. Long ago, I accepted our fate. Don’t be angry about it.”
Consider also the speech styles of people who lived 300 years ago. While we could understand them (for the most part), we would probably think they talked “funny.” The future residents of the story’s Earth, except for a stray word here and there, don’t talk much differently than you and me.

Bottom Line: Imagination breathes life into sci-fi stories, and when it is absent, the tale struggles. This story struggles on many levels and I find that, in its present form, I cannot recommend it to other readers. Two stars.
