This is the sixth story in The Sinful Suitors Series, four full length novels and two novellas. I have read them all and recommend them highly.
This story if about Niall Lindsey The Earl of Margrave and Brilliana Trevor. Young and in love they thought nothing could come between them. Then Niall is forced to fight a duel to protect his sister and is exiled to the Continent. Briliana is devastated but she cannot go with him because if she left there would be no one to take care of her ill mother.
Seven years later Niall is back in England given a full pardon and is determined to avoid Brilliana. She is now a widow with a young son. He doesn't understand why she married another man just a few months after he left England. She betrayed their love and he cannot forgive her.
Brilliana was broken hearted when Niall left London, but she was only 17 years old. When pressured to marry another man to rescue her Mother and Father from Debtor's prison she relents and marries. But she has never stopped loving Niall and her marriage was a mistake from the beginning. The only good that came out of her marriage was her son Silas. Now Niall is back in England and she is desperate to avoid him. She cannot go through that kind of heartache again.
This is a tale of young love, betrayal and redemption. Niall and Brilliana have secrets that have to come out if they have any chance of a happy ending. Niall is ready but Brilliana is not so sure. She cannot trust her judgement anymore when it comes to men and what her heart feels. Add in a family mystery that includes illegal activities.
This book will surprise and delight. Sabrina is a truly talented romance author who writes wonderful characters and surprising plots that are of the highest standards in Historical Romance. Her stories are wonderfully original. Witty dialogue, laugh out loud moments make her books must reads. I have been reading her stories since her first book was published "A Dangerous Love" which made me a lifelong fan. I will buy, read and keep her books, including her all of the Deborah Martin novels.

There is a lot going on in the first 50 pages so you better pay attention. This is a lovers-to-enemies-to-lovers trope that works because Ms. Jeffries is really adept at this kind of plotting. She does quite a bit of info dumping in the guise of dialog, which does make it more palatable. There is a mystery going on as to whom is the counterfeiter with some red herrings thrown in the path of our solving. As with most misunderstandings in HR we do wish that the Hero and Heroine would just confess their secrets to each other and get on with it, although, there are good reasons to stay quiet. This gets a bit exciting when the villain is uncovered.
Sabrina Jeffries has once again crafted a lusciously sensuous and intriguing addition to a very entertaining series. This is a standalone book so no problems if you are new to the series. I have enjoyed all the books in this series and recommend them to all Historical Romance readers.

The forth book in the Sinful Suitors series follows Niall Lindsey, the Earl of Margrave, sister to Cassandra whom you might remember from The Study of Seduction, and who we later learned fled the country to avoid being prosecuted after fighting a duel with a man who harmed his sister, subsequently killing the man. Seven years later, Niall is back, pardoned, and trying to move forward with his life, including moving on from Brilliana the woman who he was forced to leave.
Brilliana Trevor's heart broke the day she had to say good-bye to Niall. Despite being forced to wed her now-deceased husband, she never stopped loving Niall, but the rumors surrounding why he dueled all those years ago keep her from being able to trust him again. However, when her father is implicated in a counterfeit ring, she and Niall are forced to work together to either prove his innocence or his guilt. While working together their undeniable attraction forces them to confront their feelings for one another.
The relationship between Niall and Brilliana was heavily teased to us in The Danger of Desire, and of course Niall's own story was partially revealed in the second book, so I loved that we finally got the full story between the two. A lot happened in their time apart from one another, they both exponentially changed. Seeing them figure out whether they could learn to trust each other, coupled with the heat between them, was what really drove the story for me. I felt like the counterfeit storyline took too much of a backseat to be intriguing. I know that this is a romance first, but I felt like it should have warranted a little more balance between the "mystery" of the counterfeiters and the relationship between Brilliana and Niall.
Overall, though, I enjoyed this read as I've enjoyed the others in the series thus far. There's a definite hint about who the next couple will be, and I'm hoping it does go in that direction.

Bree loved him and Naill loved her, but circumstances forced them apart.
The characters are fleshed out nicely and true to life. Even most of the secondary characters are well developed. such as her father and her aunt. The descriptions allowed you to see what was around them. Such as the naughty watch Naill had and Aunt Agatha and Bree saw when he gave it to Silas. The plot wove this and more into an amazing story. It was complex but very satisfying, in that it answered all your questions. I loved it and felt it was an excellent read.

I really like this series. Niall loved Brilliana, but she was still only 17 and he has kept their love a secret. Niall has to flee the country and asks Brilliana to go with him. She refused. Brilliana refused because of her sick mother and she was uncertain what their life would be like. After he leaves, Brilliana marries another man and Niall is left broken hearted. Seven years later, Niall is back and they are faking an engagement to keep Brilliana's father from being hanged. They both have misunderstandings and secrets and neither of them are ready to give them up just yet. They need to bring it all out so they can trust once again and move forward.

The last book sure made me wonder about this one and what was up with Brilliana and Niall.
It starts with their lovestory, which I know ended badly, but not why. She married someone else. He was in exile after a duel. I know why he dueled, it was for a good reason. But it did cost him her.
And now they are back together. Well they are put together to solve a mystery. And they so do not want to work together. She despises him, he resents her. And I was all, omg talk talk talk!!!! Talk it through, but they are both angry for different reasons. Talking is not really what they want.
I liked Brilliana. I liked Niall. They obviously belonged together but there are so many lies and secrets in the way. But they will get closer, even if they are still angry, they really want each other.
Then there is the danger too, what is her father up too? Can they solve it?
Conclusion:
It was a good lovestory- A bit of suspense, a lot of lies and lots of passion.

This book tell us the story of Brilliana ''Bree'' Trevor and Niall Lindsey, the Earl of Margrav, two people who had a romance in the past which was interrupted after Niall had killed a man in a duel and was forced to flee to another country. Niall wanted Bree to leave with him, or at the very least wait for him, but she couldn't leave her sick mother behind, and soon after Niall was exiled Bree was forced to marry another man, believing that Niall had abandoned her to a dreary, loveless life, and had fought the duel over a light-skirt, proving that he didn't truly love her.
Some years later Niall had been pardoned and came back to England, now disillusioned and cynical as ever, while Bree become a young window and a mother to a young child, and wants nothing to do with the reckless rogue who broke her heart in the past. But, due to being blackmailed by the government, now they need to pretend to be a betrothed couple in order to solve a mystery.
In general I think ''The Pleasures of Passion'' was a enjoyable read, but sadly I couldn't really like the main couple (especially the heroine), though now I'm curious about the previous books in the series.

The Pleasures of Passion by Sabrina JeffriesWe've heard about Niall Lindsey in all of the other books in this series. He was forced to flee the country after he killed a man in a duel over his sister's honor. But nobody except his sister and her husband know that. Everyone else thinks that it is because he slept with the wrong man's wife. You see, he was a bit of a scoundrel. Or, he had been until he met Brilliana (oh, I had such a hard time with this name) Trevor. But theirs was a secret affection. He tried to get her to come with him, but she stayed to be with her dying mother.
Now it's seven years later and they both have lingering resentments. Bree believes that Niall had another lover while Niall thinks that Bree was just trying to capture a rich husband with the evidence being that she married mere months after he left, rather than waiting for him. The pair will have to work together though to discover who is passing counterfeit bills. Niall owes the man asking them to do this and Bree just wants to clear her father's name since he's the person that they know has been passing around the bills.
A nice addition to the Sinful Suitors series, the romance was a little rushed for me and the Big Misunderstanding a little bit to drawn out. Definitely still looking forward to Ms. Jeffries' next book.
Three and a half stars

THE PLEASURES OF PASSION (THE SINFUL SUITORS #4) by Sabrina Jeffries was a joy to read. A story of lost and found love Niall and Brilliana both have secrets and problems with their families... Drawn back together after seven long years to solve a crime brings back old memories of heartache and feeling that won't die. I hated to put the book down and didn't want it to end.

I received an advance reader copy in exchange for a fair review. The love story of Brillana and Niall endured a 7 year separation during which time he escaped to the Continent after killing a man in a duel after the man raped his sister. He was pardoned and returned to England to claim his father's title. Because of his father's twisting the truth, each thought the other no longer cared. They were thrown together when they were recruited to spy on a counterfeiting ring and this was when they learned of his father's deceit. The story is well written and enjoyable. In the end they have a HEA. I would recommend this book.

Strength. Sometimes the least likely person has it and it surprises you. Brilliana is that person for me – in the previous book I thought she was nice but not strong. Definitely proven wrong. Both Niall and Brilliana are wonderfully-written characters that drew me into their story of love, misunderstandings, intrigue and back to love. Again, Ms. Jeffries’ brings out the sometimes sarcastic and always enjoyable humor. I also love second chance romances. This one definitely delivers in the angst department. Loved it!

Niall and Bree are two characters you are rooting for this whole book. This book is part of a series but you can certainly read as a stand alone. The two characters are torn by mistrust and have to find their way back to each other. Steamy romance scenes that make you look at trees in a whole new light. You will love this book.

This is the 4th book in the Sinful Suitors series. While I personally enjoy reading the books in order, this can be a stand alone book. I think the Pleasures of Passion was a good title choice. It really bring attention to the cover, which is quite sexy. Niall Lindsey, the Earl of Margrave, has to flee England because of an unexpected duel, he is hopeful that his love interest, Brilliana Trevor, will go with him. Brilliana has family obligations she must uphold, so really, her decision is made for her. The reader will get a glimpse as to where the misunderstandings occur between this couple and then we flash forward to the present (in the novel) as the couple gets a second chance at romance. Both Niall and Brilliana have gone through some personal struggles that they believe changed the essence of who they once were. They seem to both be filled with some regrets, but as non-communication goes between men and women, it is not resolved until towards the end of the story.
I think the characters are well developed. Niall’s description turned him into my perfect book boyfriend for the weekend. The dialogue was witty, there was humor woven throughout some scenes and we have a bit of a mystery. The reader will be wondering about who the real counterfeiter is. I love the idea of Niall being a spy, even though it can be a common occurrence in historical romances. I think what makes Niall unique is that he is a reluctant spy, who lost the love of his life for duty to his family. That makes him noble and quite swoon worthy. I think that Brilliana being forced to wed, is historically accurate and makes me think about how lucky we are to live in this age of equality! She is a strong female character, forced to deal with the circumstances that life has thrown at her. Readers will be able to empathize with the love that Brilliana has for her son and makes a nice secondary story within the book. This is a fun, sexy story with a little bit of mystery and intrigue. The sexual tension is palpable and you will want to grab a glass of wine when they finally surrender to their desires. Then you will probably re-read the sex scenes. If you are looking for a happily ever after, this book delivers.

Every time I read a new Jefferies book, I know I am in for a treat - this one did not disappoint.
A long lost love is rekindled, despite all the obstacles in their way. This story hits, with plenty of passion, intrigue, and historical romance high jinks. There were times I wanted to smack the hero for being so obtuse, but then he FINALLY comes around.

I am giving an honest review in exchange for this ARC. Always a pleasure to read a Sabrina Jeffries book. She brings so much to any tale. In this one, there is a search to find a counterfeiter that becomes even more complicated by past loves and a future one. Not difficult to read at all.

Sabrina Jeffires writing is warm and engaging and her characters are well developed, witty and emotional. This is one of the best offerings from this series and I can't wait for the next one! Highly recommend!

A horrible incident caused Niall Lindsey to have to leave his beloved England and the woman he loved. Brilliana Trevor wanted so badly to go with Niall but the unknown future and the illness of her mother caused her to say no to leaving England with him. After years apart and lies and betrayal by those around them they run into each other when Niall is allowed to return to England. Neither is interested in seeing each other again but now they are being forced to pretend they are engaged. There are secrets that still need to be revealed if these two have a chance at a happy ever after.
It always hurts my heart a little when I'm reading a story where the H&H have been torn apart by lies and deception by those around them. I felt so sorry for Niall and Brie who only tried to do what was good for those they loved even though it cost them their love. Sabrina Jeffries has a fantastic way of writing the story where there is an edge of your seat - "will they or won't they get together" and then she throws in a bad guy or two to keep you guessing at who is causing trouble. This was such a good plot and I really liked the H&H from the start. They were both strong characters with neither being more so than the other. The balance was good between these two. I loved that Niall didn't give up on the relationship he wanted with Brie. The Great Aunt was a great addition with her saying the most outrageous things, which added fun to the story. I thoroughly enjoyed this book.
I received an ARC from Negalley for an honest review.

Niall Lindsey kills a man in a duel for the honor of his sister. He is sworn to secrecy and he realizes he must leave England. He asks Brilliana Trevor to run away with him because he loves her and does not want to leave her behind. She refuses and he leaves alone. Seven years later, Niall has been pardoned and returned as an Earl. Brilliana is a widow with a small son.
Niall and Brilliana are forced to work together for the good of the country. There is forged currency being circulated and it is possible Brilliana's father is involved.
All the physical attraction between the two comes to the forefront. The lust is still the same but because of the past there is little to no trust between the two.
I would have liked both of them better if they were honest about things. Niall has worked as a spy while he was on the continent, so he is used to not being who he appears. Brilliana seems to fall right into misrepresentation very easily. But, the biggest lack of honesty is within their relationship. Neither one of them seem capable of talking to the other. The lack of communication became tedious for me.
Most of the misery from their past is because of the actions of others. Both had fathers with huge character flaws. And both fathers manipulated things until they each got exactly what was their choice, not the choices of their children.
Ms Jeffries is such a talented author who writes wonderful stories. Her writing brings this story above and beyond. She has created characters who are complete people. Niall, Brilliana and the supporting characters are interesting and entertaining. Brilliana's aunt and her son, Silas, add a great deal of humanity to the story. Their presence creates life in a real family.
The mystery of the forgeries moves things along, but the mystery is not too difficult to solve.
Ms Jeffries has presented us with a book about two people and their families. Along the way, love is rekindled and trust rears its very human head.
I enjoyed this book. I received the book from the publisher through NetGalley. I am voluntarily writing this review and all opinions are my own.

One of my favorite themes in Historical Romances is that of lost lovers finding each other again. In this case, Niall and Brilliana met and fell in love before she even had her come out. Niall was involved in a duel and had to flee the country. Meanwhile, Bree got married - not for love but to help her family. now, years later, they are both in London, he is an Earl and she is a widow and they must pose as an engaged couple to help solve a crime.
This is part romance, part crime story where the two try to find out whether her father is the counterfeiter that the government is looking for. To do this, they pose as an engaged couple. But, the longer they are together, the more the old feelings come back.
Sabrina Jefferies does a wonderful job with the characters. You can't help but love Niall and Bree and feel the pain of the betrayal they each faced in the past that kept them apart. I received an advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

First time reading a Sabrina Jeffries’ book – and it was a good start, but it could have been better.
The entire book revolves around two connected plots: the main couple’s history and a counterfeit scheme.
Niall and Brilliana had met seven years before our story, and had had a secret relationship of love declarations and sweet gestures (nothing else). When Niall is forced to flee England and asks Bree to run away with him, she refuses because of her sick mother. Niall feels betrayed when Bree doesn’t send any news, and he only knows through his father that she married Mr. Trevor a few months after his departure. Bree knows he ran away because he killed a man in a duel, but she doesn’t know why, which made her vulnerable to speculation when confronted with a different idea about Niall’s true character.
All of these misunderstandings make them hate the reasons that kept them apart and of course, hate what each thinks the other had done wrong. Trust needs to be rebuilt, at the same time as they must find out if Bree’s father is creating and distributing counterfeit bank notes. With a fake engagement, doubts and suspiciousness, the book ends up losing something by repeating several times the same ideas of why the trust was lost and how it’s so difficult to regain it – but for us readers, it’s not necessary to keep pushing the same button so much.
It seemed like there were some plot holes: what really happened to Bree’s mother? Did she end up living with Bree and her husband or did she stay with her husband until her death? What was her condition? How long was she sick, did she pass away shortly after Niall’s departure or was it years later? Bree wrote to Niall – why didn’t he write to her? He knew where to find her and England knew exactly where he was so that’s no excuse. These questions, among others, were left unanswered.
The most interesting part for me was the counterfeit scheme and how, even though they were forged to pretend to be engaged to discover the criminal (who I identified from the very moment he first showed up), every character just worked like a well-oiled clock. Without question, the best characters were (the eccentric) Aunt Agatha and the mysterious Lord Fulkham.
It was a pleasant book, a quick read, read at ease, which kept me interested the entire time.
