Lori Foster’s contemporary “Worth the Wait” has humor, suspense, and those steamy, sexy scenes we’ve become accustomed to.
“Worth the Wait” can be considered a companion book to last summer’s “Don’t Tempt Me” since it gives us Jason Guthrie’s brother, Hogan’s road to romance. Even Hogan’s son, Colt, meets a girl. We also get to watch the sheriff Nathan fall in love. Most books have one romance, but this one essentially has three!

The central romance is, of course, is between Hogan and diner owner Violet Shaw. Out of his job at the accounting firm, Hogan turns his part-time job as barbecue master at the diner into a full-time one and as a way to get closer to Violet.
Violet is stubborn and independent and doesn’t want to lose control over her business. She’s fiercely attracted to Hogan and their chemistry is off the charts, but Hogan is still not over his past and losing everything, including his wife.

“Worth the Wait” is more than a title. The words prove true for Violet and for this reader who’s been waiting for Hogan to find his HEA since last year. Kudos to Ms. Foster for writing another sexy read.

What a fun yet intriguing book. You never get right to the point all at once, I mean what's the fun in that. You have two stories going on in here. Hogan who is know for his barbecue ribs and working at a dinner temporarily. His boss Violet always seems to give him mixed vibes. He can't figure her out and she doesn't fit into his plans but one night might of changed all of that. Then there is our Hot Sheriff Nathan who is trying to keep his eyes on being a dad, even though Colt not a baby anymore. OH then in comes Brooklin his new hot neighbor who doesn't want his help but she'll accept Colts. He can't figure her out but he knows something is going on and maybe he can be the one to help her. I love small town stories. It makes you wish Mayberry existed. LOL. Fantastic read and one you won't be disappointed with. "I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book."

I like the first book and I enjoy this one!. I am enjoying the small town setting of this series.I think that all of the characters are great.It was sexy and great read.

When I want to read a book that I know is going to be fantastic, I pick up one of Lori Foster's. The characters are so real I feel like I know them. Hogan is a single dad who falls hard for Violet and their relationship goes from flirty to red hot. Brooklin is trying to escape her past and doesn't want to get involved with anyone but Nathan, the town sheriff, is persistent. Love conquers all in the end and that's exactly how it should be! Another winner.

Now I haven't read the first one, and I felt like I didn't really miss out on anything.

I really enjoyed my reading time with this story, what's not to love about a single hot dad?

I really enjoyed the characters, I found there chemistry real and sexy they were fabulous together. I enjoyed the authors writing I was pleasantly surprised how fast this one read. A great Sunday chill out book.

Romance books that feature single dads are my ultimate favorites! And if these single dads are sweet and charming I can almost guarantee that I will fall in love with the story. And this my friends is EXACTLY what I go in Lori Foster's upcoming novel, Worth the Wait. SQUEE!! I loved this book so much. I adored Hogan (he can barbecue for me anytime) and loved Violet. She is the perfect heroine and I could see myself befriending her in real life.

Fans of sweet and swoony romances NEED this book. I am telling you, it is utterly amazing and I couldn't put it down for a second!!! It's been quite a while since I have read a novel by Lori Foster and now I can see why I loved her novels in the past. This is the perfect romance to cozy up with and a must read for 2017!!!

What a wonderful story. I loved the development of Violet and Hogan's relationship. It was definitely patience personified but it was great seeing Hogan finally put his past behind him and embrace his happiness. And just like the first book in this duology, Don't Tempt Me, there's also a secondary love story between Nathan, the hot sheriff, and Brooklin, Nathan's new neighbor. And Brooklin brings with her a past that brings a little bit of mystery and suspense into this story that makes this story that much more interesting. Overall, this was a very sweet and wonderful story filled with some fun and cute moments. Loved all the interactions between all the characters. Such good people in Clearbrook, OH. And let's not forget about the hot chemistry between Hogan and Violet and Nathan and Brooklin. I enjoyed every moment of this story.

Amazing book!!! I absolutely love violet! Shes my favorite heroine in thr series. Violet and Hogan are perfect for each other, so are Nathan and Brooklin! Hopefully colt gets his own book and happily ever after soon!

It’s another swoon worthy hit for Lori Foster. In “Worth the Wait” Foster returns to focus on Hogan Gutherie, a single dad trying to make sense of his life while raising his son, Colt and Violet, a single women running a local diner and as independent as they come. When the sexual tension between them goes from sparks to a full on fire they both need to figure out what they want and how to get there without losing who they are in the process.

We also get to meet a Brooklin, a very detached new girl in town who catches the eye of Nathan the minute she arrives. But Brooklin is hiding something and while Nathan tries to breakdown her walls her past finds her and puts all her new friends in danger.

As a bonus, all of the beloved characters from “Don’t Tempt Me” are back in all their glory. We see Jason and Honor, Lexie and Sullivan and of course Colt (who I hope is next up for a book). Actually we get to see a lot more of the guys they expected….who knew the “Barbeque Master” owned cowboy boots (you’ll understand when you read the book).

Another must read. I received a copy of this book for an honest review.

If you are looking for a smoking hot and sweet romance, look no further. Ms. Foster combines the perfect mix of sweetness, humor and erotic scenes.
The combinations of Violet and Hogan and Nathan and Brooklin are dynamite. This book is as amazing as her past body of work.
Violet strives to make her diner profitable, while Hogan struggles to raise his senior son in a new environment, close to his brother Jason.
Nathan, the sheriff, former SWAT, falls for Brooklin at first sight, even as he realizes she is hiding something. You will follow closely as the story progresses, eager for answers, but so sorry the story ends. Feel good ending with characters you'd love you meet.

I found it very slow paced and not knowing where it was going. Hogan starts out very attracted to Violet but she isn't interested in anything more than his barbeque sauce recipe. Suddenly she gives him the green light it's a go and he can't stay away from her enough. Talk about mixed signals. Then they sneak off like little kids behind the bleachers because they don't want the town to know about them or his son.
Nathan and Brooklin were cute. And his way of slowly wearing her down I found charming. I liked her back story. Wasn't a fan of the ending. It was the only action in the whole thing and I wasn't following how the bad guy was the bad guy.

Violet owns a little diner in town. She's beautiful, smart, and bossy. Hogan is an accountant with a boy who's a senior in high school and works at the diner making ribs. He was hurt by his ex wife and when he first moved to town was a complete manwhore. But he's settling down but doesn't want to ever get married again. When he gets fired, Violet convinces him to work for her full time. With his son Colt starting college soon, he'll need all the extra money he can get.
Nathan is sheriff and was former SWAT team. Brooklin moved in next door but she's hiding something. He chases her until he finally wears her down. When Brooklin and Violet are run down by someone in a van, all their protective instincts come to the front. Now Nathan must figure out how to get Brooklin to trust him with her secrets.
Excellent story. Suspense thrown in. And mixed with some sexy guys and beautiful women. I love reading a story where I can get lost in it and feel like I'm right there with them.

Definitely worth the wait!!!! I love the double story line and getting to see two couples find their HEA, I don't think I've seen that before reading this series. Hogan has a lot of trust issues revolving around women after his now deceased wife betrayed him. He tried burying his anger and grief with meaningless flings and has finally realized that those flings were not only hurting him but also his 17 year old son Colt. Hogan works for Violet Shaw, a red headed temptress and diner owner, as her new barbecue master grilling his awesome ribs with his secret sauce. The chemistry between them is off the charts but Hogan doesn't think he can give Violet anything but a temporary relationship. Violet wants and respects Hogan but is married to her diner and isn't used to depending on anyone but herself. She knows loving him would be a mistake because he won't let himself love again. With the diner's business booming more then ever thanks to Hogan, their relationship also starts blooming as they decide to give in to their chemistry and see where it takes them. Hogan is a wonderful character, he lost everything when his wife betrayed him but he picked himself and his son up and moved on. Violet is awesome, a red headed firecracker with a temper to match. She is independent and in charge, she speaks her mind and truly cares about the people around her. I think Colt is my favorite character, he is everything I think a person should be, courteous, respectful, fun, brave and caring, he definitely deserves his own story.
The second storyline was about Nathan, who is the sheriff, lead singer of the Drunken Monkeys and friend to Hogan, Jason and Sullivan. A new neighbor moves in next door to Nathan and he is attracted to her from the first time he sees her. She is very private and avoids him the best she can but Nathan is persistent and finally learns that her name is Brooklyn and she creates jewelry. Nathan continues to pursue Brooklyn and she finally lets him in enough to start a tentative relationship. When she become friends with Violet and together the pair is almost ran down by a van, Brooklyn will have to entrust Nathan with her secrets so they can find who wants to hurt Brooklyn and now Violet by association. The second storyline isn't as detailed since its in the background to the main storyline but still fun to read, it isn't a distraction as it is seamlessly interwoven with the main storyline. Nathan is a protector through and through and Brooklyn definitely need a protector. It was awesome to learn some of Nathan's history to give him more depth as a character, Brooklyn was a perfect match for him.

So happy with this one! The first book was a bit disjointed for me. This book felt like I got two completely fleshed out HEA's. Loved the couples. Loved the over arching suspense. And, by God, Ms. Foster better jump ahead 3-4 years and give us Colt's story next! What an awesome kid!

I always love diving into Lori Foster's books, her legendary Buckhorn series is an all time favorite of mine! Worth the Wait is the second book in the Guthrie Brother series and I am thrilled to say it was So.Darn.Good!! I flew through the book because we not only get us Hogan and Violet's story, but we get Nathan and Brooklin's story too--two romances in one book!! In the first novel (Don't Tempt Me) we got to know a lot of the people from this small Ohio town which worked perfectly because from page one I was already invested in these amazing characters! I think the book has the perfect mix of sweet and sassy, but with depth that will touch you're heart. I also loved getting updates throughout the book on Honor and Jason!! I recommend this addictive book to any romance fan, actually I highly recommend ANY Lori Foster book because she NEVER disappoints! Go check out Worth the Wait!!

Hogan Guthrie has been through a very tough time and the good life he once knew is over. He and his son, Colt, are trying to pick up the pieces. Hogan has had a rough start in their new life, but is now settling down and trying to be the man he knows he should be. Violet, his boss at the diner where he cooks ribs part time, has caught his interest. When he finally convinces her that his player days are over, they give in to attraction. As the relationship between them begins to deepen, a newcomer to town inadvertently brings danger that soon envelops Violet. Hogan must protect those he cares about while trying to decide what he wants in his life.

This was a great book! I'm already looking forward to Foster's next one. Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for providing a copy of the book in return for an honest review.

I absolutely hate to say this, but this was the first ever Lori Foster that I did not like.
I might even go so far as to say that I disliked it :(
Violet was not sassy and independent and spirited as so many of Ms Fosters heroines; she came across as sort of a bitch. She was snarky but without the usual humour that we expect from Ms Foster that softens harsh comments and makes them cute and quirky; she was jealous without an apparent soft vulnerability and she was thoughtless and selfish in actions. She got a single Dad fired (which, what the heck? Do Americans not have sexual harassment standards in their workplaces? How was that weird scenario even comprehensible?) The success of her business appears to rely on some part-time employees BBQ skills, and she's run it without making changes until the behest of Hogan. It just strikes a wrong and unlikeable chord.
I was really intrigued by Nathan's story, but the two books seemed entwined and I couldn't preopery skip to find his parts. Even Colt was entertaining and I'd have loved to read more of him; but again, I couldn't filter out the Violet/Hogan.

A really sweet installment in this series. Violet and Hogan are an engaging couple and the previous couples show up and keep the story going.
