This read was short, sweet and oh so entertaining. I didn’t read any of the other books in this series, but if they’re anything like this book I’m definitely going back for more.
A class reunion brings Jessie back to her hometown, to face the past and make amends for all the ‘mean girl’ pranks she pulled as a teenager. People got hurt in the process and especially her ex boyfriend, Jake, who she left behind. But Jessie is a changed woman, and after 10 years and a little push from her best friends, she decides it’s high time to apologise.
What she didn’t expect was Jake. Even though a lot has changed in their lives since the last time they saw each other, being with him was easy and familiar. But it’s always a dangerous game to dream about things you cannot have, and with separate lives with hundreds of miles between them reconciliation is a difficult, if not an impossible task.

That was fun! And I didn't expect this to be emotional too, I shed quite a few tears. Anyway, I love Jessica from the start; wouldn't have pegged her for a Mean Girl, tbh. We didn't really get a flashback on her supposed meanness in high school, except for a quickfire exchange on reunion night where we got a glimpse of the girl she used to be.

Overall, it's a short and sweet second chance romance, and I'm really intrigued about the thing going on between Drew and Leah so I guess I'll be watching out for that one next.

This was a nice, short story based on a second-chance romance.

The characters were endearing and despite their previous breakup, were able to reconnect quickly on a physical level after being reunited, in an unusual way, for a school reunion. There were elements of drama in the story as the characters initially fought their rekindled feelings but overall the story was just too short and too simple to get my teeth into in order to fully enjoy it. The concept was good but it just left me wanting more from start to finish.

Jessie left her hometown and her boyfriend Jake ten years ago because she was practically a selfish person. Now she's going to the reunion and because she refuses to go alone she hires an escort, but the escort comes as a surprise.

This was a fun and light story and I liked it. However it was not as filled with all the emotions that I normally find Robert's stories. I felt it lacked a bit to make it stand out.

The writing style is engaging and makes the story easy to read. There is no unnecessary descriptions of surroundings and lots of dialogues so it's worth the read.

I liked that Jessie used to be a real mean girl in school but found her path as the years rolled by and has another view of life and people now.
Jake was very forgiving and sweet, in some ways I found him weak but in the love scenes he took control.........and I liked that.

Her mother I would loved to give a slap, she needed to come down to earth.

The story has a happy ending so all is good 😊

If you like a good easy to read story this is a strong 4 star read.

It sounds to me that Jake has some control issues, “you need to find some effing underwear for this weekend.” He withdrew long enough to spread her wetness up and over her c*** and then pushed two fingers in her while he worked her with his thumb. “Unless you want me dragging you off to every empty room we come across.” Jake sometimes makes bad choices, “Massage.” He pointed at her table and then waited for her to obey before he carefully laid face down on the other. “This was the worst effing idea I’ve ever had.” I liked this novella, I loved Jake and Jessica.

Prom Queen is book 3 in the Bad Boy Homecoming series and wrote by Katee Robert. This was my first book I'd read by the author so I had no real expectations. I also went into this blind as I didn't read any other reviews and picked this one on the cover and synopsis alone. I hadn't read other books in the series and will add I believe this could be read as a stand alone.

If you like books set around second chances, then Prom Queen could definitely be for you. I've never been to a high school reunion (I do think its more of a US tradition than UK) but having read about a few I do find the whole 'how we've changed and grown' thing quite fun. This book was certainly that too. It was great to see Jessica and Jake's story unfold. I loved how the 're met' each other in this book and see how Jessica went from 'the queen bitch' at school to how she changed over time. I do think many of us don't resemble who we were at school (And I'm not just talking physically). I really liked Jessica's character and although I'm not really anything like her from the past I could relate to the 'now' Jessica.

I loved how the story unfolded which I don't really want to go into as I hate spoilers in reviews. I will say I felt the tension and enjoyed the ride. Jake was a great character too and I really loved the banter!

This was a fairly quick read and has made me want to read more of the books in the series so I'll probably be picking those up shortly. 3.5 stars.

Jessica Jackson and Jake Davis were the IT couple of their high school. He was the football star and headed places with his possible sports career, and Jessica was the cheerleader and Miss Popular but also the mean girl. Their happiness was short-lived though as they broke up and went their separate ways. Now ten years later it's time for their high school reunion. Jessica isn't looking forward to going as she was the ultimate Mean Girl at their high school and wrecked havoc with everyone. Think Blair from Gossip Girl meets Regina George from Mean Girls and you have Jessica Jackson. Her life though isn't filled with the glamor she had hoped for, and in fact, she is single too. Dreading going back to the reunion especially since she isn't the same girl she was then as she had a Saul/Paul moment. Jessica's friends tell her about this site where they can hire dates for things like reunions. Her friends sign her up, and unbeknownst to them, the site is owned by none other than her ex-boyfriend from High School - Jake Davis. Seeing this as a possible revenge ploy towards Jessica, Jake agrees to go as her date but imagine Jessica's surprise when she notices her date is Jake. As the book goes along, is this second chance at happiness for the pair? Also, we read as maybe coming home for Jessica was the best thing to happen for her to grow as a person and finally stand up to her family especially her mother. What will happen though when Jessica and Jake realize that letting go of the past and past mistakes isn't as easy as it sounds ? Will Jessica and Jake make it through this Reunion weekend together or will their second chance romance be over before it has even begun ?

‘Prom Queen’ by Katee Robert was unbelievably a first time for me by this author and I have to say I enjoyed this quick second chance love story. It was a 3.5 star from me.

Although I would have loved a bit of a longer book I did get into the story. It was a high school reunion with a bit of a difference. Jake and Jess had their lives mapped out before them when they were at high school but unfortunately for the bitchy class prom queen and the jock things don’t quite work out.

We see them as they come together for the reunion as Jess is met by surprise when Jake is the fake date she has hired to accompany her to the reunion. As they get to know one another again they find the chemistry has never left them but things cannot be glossed over so easily and they need to come to terms with their past.

I liked that this was told from the side of the class prom queen that hadn’t been the best of people before as usually these stories are told from the person who is usually picked on by the prom queen and jocks. It was a good quick read with enough heat to keep me interested and with characters that kept me intrigued as I wanted to find out if they did manage to get their happily ever after or not. Good read that will have me looking out more books from Katee Robert.

I received an arc from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I love Katee Robert. She is a gifted writer who takes the reader on an adventure of a lifetime. I have read all of her O'Malley series books and I know that she writes an amazing alpha. She will make you look at your high school boyfriends in a whole new life with Prom Queen.

Jack Davis is a little different but still and amazing leading male. He was scorned in high school. His life ruined by an accident and his girl left him. Years later the girl returns for the high school reunion. He takes control of the situation playing it delicately. She doesn't know his secret but he can't stop the return of this high school feelings.

Jessica left her high school life behind for greener pastures. But the saying that the grass isn't always greener on the side has never been truer. Faced with returning to her high school reunion to help her healing. She doesn't want to do it alone. So her roommates hook her up with an escort.

But when that escort turns out to be her ex, and her biggest regret. She is at a crossroads. Move forward and apologize for the past or stay in the past and be a shell of person.

Jack and Jessica have a fantastic love hate things going on. But it is easy to see why they were so perfect together. They know each other so well even after all of the these years. Will they be able to move forward or will the past be to big of hurdle to jump?

Quick second-chance love novella. While the story was short, I felt a lot of history and backstory was effortlessly packed in giving the reader a well rounded view of their past and present relationship. I loved the way they remembered and knew each other's quirks, likes, and dislikes. 10 years didn't dim their attraction at all. Looking forward to the others in this series!

A great second chance story that's sweet, very hot plus tugs at your heart strings.
Jesse needs a date for her high school reunion, she's not looking forward to it, she used to be the mean the girl but she lets her friend set her up with a fake date.
Jake had a promising future a head of him until he injured his leg in college, he lost a career and his girl. Now he owns a company that provides women with dates for special occasions and events. Jessie used to be his girl, little does she know that he will be her date once.
The sparks fly when Jesse realizes who's waiting for her, and Jake takes great pleasure out of Jessie's discomfort, great bantering matches going on between them.
This was only a short story but still a great one, I highly recommend it!

Prom Queen by Katee Robert was a good second chance novel and the first book I've read by this author. High school reunion books are fairly uncommon for me and I felt that even though the main characters chance encounter was unrealistic I still enjoyed the story all the same. I wish there had been a bit more character building in showing the reader how she's changed since high school instead of just telling us she's a better person but all in all, I enjoyed this read. I appreciate the opportunity to read the book and Thank Netgalley and the publisher for the ARC in exchange for a honest review.

Yow-za! Katee Roberts always writes a great story and this one was stellar. The best of second chance romance.

Best friends since they were 10 Jessica and Jake were high school sweethearts and more. They'd tell you they've been in love since age 10. Jake is a football player and Jess is as she describes herself the class Queen Bitch. She was just flat out mean among other things she did to people just for spite. And don't you dare cross her. Jake was a little full of himself and at 18 they had their life together planned out. Jake a football scholarship to UCLA and Jessica just to get out their small town of Catfish TX and a dream of becoming an interior designer.

The story begins with Jessica now living in California with her two friends on the beach, Jess never got to realize her dreams and in fact hit rock bottom a couple years ago. Saved by her friends she's working and doing better and refuses to acknowledge the invitation to the 10 year class reunion, she doesn't want to face all those people she was so cruel too or Jake. She's never quite gotten over him.
She walked out on him when he was laid up in his hospital bed after the accident that put the end to his career dreams. Her roommate Cora who is an attorney comes up with a brilliant idea, rent a date and before Jess can even utter "No" it's done.

What the girls don't know is that Jake owns the company based in Dallas. When he gets her paperwork his wheels start turning and he's planning. Deciding he's going to be her date. Jessica has no clue who she's meeting only that they'll pick her up at the airport and they have her photo.
When she hears his voice, she freezes.

The story takes off from there, the two of them mending old hurts, layer upon layer of apologies and her witch on a broom Mother who's most of the reason Jessica was the way she was and despite therapy reverts back a little to her younger years listening to her mothers' bitter tongue and not a pleasant kind word passes this woman's lips toward her daughter.

Jake and Jess enjoy their time together. When the big night arrives it does so with some expected nonsense and then Jessica is blindsided by what is now her brothers girlfriend. Her high school nemesis. She talked to him right before leaving for the reunion and knew he was hiding something, but this was the ultimate.... no wait, not the ultimate because she gets smacked down again when the girlfriend opens her mouth about something Jake should have told her and did, he planned on it. Wanting to do the right thing, she apologizes for what she did to Leah in highschool and then walks out. Jake is calling to her.... she just keeps walking. You have to read the book to get to see what happens, all the little nuances and who is who. They play a part in the storyline.
This is book 3 in the upcoming Bad Boy Homecoming series, each written by a different author about a different couple and their issues.

I love Katee Roberts, she did this book justice. The book kept my attention, steamy enough in the right parts and emotional enough in others.
This is going to be a must read series.

Such a good book! I have loved Katee Robert since I've read the marriage contract. Her writing is something special and I can't wait to read more from her.

Who of us didn't dread going to our high school reunion? Well Jessica has more reason than most, as the mean girl she's afraid how her high School misdeeds will play on her now reformed world. Add to the mix her jilted first love and things get complicated.
Jake wants some petty revenge against the woman who broke his heart. Best laid plans often have hiccups and his goes haywire from the start. Can they move past their animosity and find a way to forge on?
Side note, not sure why Jake is deemed a bad boy and really wish we'd had an epilogue to tie up loose ends.

4.5 Stars!

What drew me to Prom Queen (besides the sexy cover) was the blurb. I love second chance romances, and this one sounded like so much fun! I mean, who wouldn't want to know what happens when a former prom queen unknowingly hires her ex-boyfriend to be her date to their class reunion? I certainly wanted to know.

Prom Queen really was a fun second chance romance. It was a quick read filled with tons of passion. It didn't take long for Jake and Jessica to realize their attraction to each other hadn't waned over the ten years they'd been apart. It had only grown and become more mature. It wasn't simple to fix their problems, but I loved the way they worked through it together.

I loved both characters, but Jessica's back story stood out to me. She was the quintessential mean girl in high school, but it wasn't because she thought she was better than everyone else. Jessica was only trying to be the girl her mother wanted her to be. Being perfect wasn't easy for Jessica, and over the years she had transformed herself into who she wanted to be. This was a great addition to the sexy story.
My only teeny tiny complaint was how quickly this story wrapped up. I would have loved for it to gone on a little longer, and for Jessica and Jake to have spent more time working things out. Otherwise, I thought Prom Queen was an excellent second chance romance.

Prom Queen is my first Katee Robert read and I was intrigued by the synopsis. I felt like the heroine might be a bit different and wanted to see if an author could redeem a 'bad girl' and turn her into a sympathetic character.

Jessica was the meanest of mean girls in high school, trampling anyone who got in her way (and some that didn't). They only person she showed a vulnerable side to was her boyfriend, Jake. Jake was destined to be a football star but after an injury lost that dream along with his girlfriend.

Now years later, they have a ten year reunion to attend. Jessica has realized the err of her ways and though she feels remorse for all the terrible things she did in the past, she's scared she will be ostracized at her reunion. As her 'fake' date, Jake shows a lot of character in his willingness to let the girl who trampled his heart redeem herself. Honestly, I thought he was too good for her for much of the book. But I do think the author did a good job of redeeming Jessica.

I think the author had a difficulty choice... I wish we had seen their relationship in high school as it would have added some to the chemistry and believability of the story. BUT I don't know that the author could have shown that without making the readers hate Jessica. So I was a little stuck on the character development. The book jumps almost straight into sex and I would have enjoyed getting to know them before that happened as it turned me off a little.

But all said and done, this was a mostly enjoyable read with some steamy scenes, some angst and for the most part, likeable characters. I did not read the first books in this series and found it to truly stand alone!

What a great read! Fun, sassy and sweet! I can't wait to read the other connected books!

Mean girl redemption at its finest! And a sweet hero with a tragic past that doesn't hold him back (The lack of drama is so refreshing!)
