Falling for the Fake Fiancé is the story of Jill, 29 going on 30. The book starts when Jill discovers her beloved grandmother’s will. Turns out, Jill will get a lot more money if she’s married on her thirtieth birthday which is about two weeks later. She’s astounded by the meddling and archaic view of her grandmother but still follows her friends and mother advice by going out with her friends and trying her hand at speed dating.
It goes as disastrously as you think it may, especially since Jill has extremely bad luck with men and hasn’t dated in seven years, since her daughter was born. But, after she escapes a boring as fuck man, her best friend sends her to a hotel room where an old best friend of hers is. Aaron used to be her neighbor when she was in highschool and they used to be very close, until he left for the military. And Aaron got HAWT. Jill can barely believe it. The two start to reconnect and shit goes down.

I enjoyed the story. It was a classic Entangled book. I liked the characters, especially Emily, Jill’s daughter. But Jill was awesome too. I also had fun reading the banter between Jill and Aaron. Jill’s mother drove me crazy though. I would have yelled and hit her a couple times if I were in Jill’s position, but Jill was a lot less hot-headed and resentful than I am.

Anyway, this was a pretty short, cute, classic love story that basically flew by. I easily read it in one sitting.

Jill Michaels is a single mother, her daughter Emily's father having taken her money, left her high and dry and then died in a car accident. Despite her mother and grandmother having plenty of money, she has to work two jobs in order to keep her clever daughter at her fancy private school. After her grandmother dies, she learns that she could inherit one quarter of her Grammy's estate IF she is married by her 3oth birthday - only two months away!

After a disastrous speed dating evening with her friends (and don't get me started on those frenemies), Jill thinks she is meeting one of her friends in her hotel room, instead she meets her former next door neightbour and high school friend Aaron Collins. Aaron is back in South Carolina to help out his Dad (who still lives next door to Jill's mother) with his handyman business, but is ithcing to get back to a private security job with one of his ex-Marine friends.

I have to confess I misread the blurb for this book and was expecting more of the falling in love to take place AFTER they decided to secretly get married in order for Jill to get her inheritance, whereas much of the novella takes place before Jill and Aaron agree to have a sham marriage.

Again, this is an Entangled Brazen imprint so the reader should expect a short, steamy novella. YOu definitely get this but I think I would have preferred less sex in public(ish) places and a bit more plot.

I have only read one book by Jennifer Blackwood previously which was [book:The Rule Book|29478744], I preferred that book, it had more depth and humour. But of course it was for a different branch of Entangled.

Feel good read, that had me smiling the all the way through. The characters are lovely and their relationship was realistic, with the right amount of chemistry and heat.

Jill and Aaron were such fun to read about. Aaron has had such a crush on her since the moment he met her and is given a chance to enact his love for her and live out his fantasy. Jill is in a deadline to get married and get her inheritance and Aaron is all to willing to help her out. great fun.
