This was a nice quick romance story! It was so nice to see a shifter different than a wolf though!!

I received a copy of this book from the publisher via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
I'll admit it, I requested this book from Netgalley just because of the amazing cover. I wasn't sure how good the book itself would be, but I was pleasantly surprised!
Erik(a Vedjorn bear shifter) and his three month old son, Garth have moved to rural New York to escape Erik's insane ex. When she was pregnant and after the birth, she said that she wanted nothing to do with her child and signed all rights away. But then, she showed up and decided that she needs to take Garth away because he will have special powers.
Erik moves in the bottom floor of JJ's new house. She also moved to New York to start a new life, hiding away from her abusive ex. Although they are both wary, they hit it off and have instant chemistry. Unfortunately, both of their pasts won't leave them alone, and they will have to depend on each other to survive.
I really liked the main characters in this book. They were very likable and their stories were well developed and interesting. The ending did seem a little rushed, but it also left it open to other books in the series. I did find myself wishing for a little more romance(there was only one scene!), but the plot was very interesting.
