This is the first in this series I have read and I wish I had read the first two books to get a better understand on the characters and the direction the author was or is trying to take them. Many times readers will feel lost and wonder what the connections the characters have to each other. The first half of the book is about Xin Zhu and his world. While the author is able to create a interesting world at times things felt slow and in need of better pacing.
The author has too many characters to keep up with. The many many different points of view can work but not in this story.
As a Reader I wish I had read the first 2 books to better understand the Milo and the different characters.
Thank you to Netgalley for a copy of Olen Steinhauer An American Spy
