When archeologist Sam Bellamy agrees to help salvage a sunken ship abroad the Integrity, she little realizes she will be thrust into a whirlwind adventure. Through unlikely circumstances, Sam meets Ezra, a water Drakon and falls madly in love with him but with danger looming very close, will she be able to bask in this new found relationship or will their demons catch up with them?

I liked it but I didn't love it...

I really enjoyed the paranormal aspect of this book and the originality of the story. I did also enjoy the characters and their romance but found some parts dragged on a little and I found myself losing interest at some points throughout the novel. Despite this, it is a good contender if you are looking for a light and quick paranormal romance.

It had its flaws...

The story would have been better for me if there had been a little more action. It was okay in that department but it did lack in my opinion. Not a whole lot happened, save for the very beginning, and that contributed to the slowness of the story around certain areas. I wanted to put this book down sometimes which wasn't too good of a sign... I would have enjoyed the story more if it hadn't been so repetitive. Though it isn't a huge problem, many times I found myself reading the same lines or very similar lines at the very least. Both these problems are what made me lose interest at some points in the story. Also, I felt like there was a certain unbelievable quality at times regarding either the characters relationship and how quickly it developed or just in the plot. It wasn't a big disadvantage but it was something I noticed. I think I would've enjoyed a romance that was more realistic but this one was still enjoyable regardless.

Keep in mind...

This book is Adult and features mature themes. It isn't over the top in the sexual department but it is a steamy read! Also, this is the third book in a series and I read it without having read the previous two. The characters in those two books were mentioned but my not having read them didn't have an effect while reading Drakon's Plunder. It can definitely be read as a standalone!

Where the book redeemed itself...

I especially enjoyed the paranormal aspect of this novel. It was well developed in my opinion and was easy to understand. I could really imagine the world which made it all the more interesting to read. It felt real as if dragons could actually live amongst us and I loved that! I do enjoy a good dragon themed story and was very interested in this book for that reason. Concerning the dragon aspect, I was very pleased! The biggest appeal for me was actually the originality of the story. I haven't ever read a book quite like this one and the uniqueness really captivated me. The romance was good and strong. Ezra and Sam were very passionate and even though there was a tad of insta-love, their relationship was real and sweet with the occasional hot scenes sprinkled in.

It was good, but not great...

Overall, this was a good read. In my opinion, it wasn't one of my favorites because it did drag on at times and got repetitive but it did have a strong romance, great characters, and a very original plot. In the end, it was quite enjoyable! I am giving Drakon's Plunder a solid 3.5 stars and would recommend it to fans of paranormal romance that is quick and light!

Happy Reading!

"He’d protect his brothers with his life. And nothing and no one would be allowed to harm Sam, not as long as there was breath in his body."

I absolutely love this series!! It's amazing how you can fall in love with each brother but can't pick who you like the best. This book centers around Sam Bellamy and Ezra Easton.

Sam just wants justice for her murdered mentor by a secret society, The Knights of the Dragon. She is an archaeologist of mythological items, a profession her peers scoff at, but she has an affinity for those items of power. She is tasked with unearthing the contents of a sunken ship, the Reliant. It has great significance to The Knights of the Dragon, because their leader thinks there are items/books of use to capture and enslave the drakons. If she can stop The Knights of the Dragon from getting their hands on anything of power she will do that in the name of justice for her mentor. She doesn't believe in dragons, she believes all myths are based in fact but that doesn't mean dragons walked the earth. When she finds a sacred artifact pulsing with power she just knows she has to get it off the boat and hope she doesn't get captured or killed.

Ezra is content just running his salvaged ship company and swimming in the ocean in dragon form. He likes his solitude even going so far as to live on an isolated island by himself. Then when his brothers here chatter of a ship looking for artifacts off the coast of his island they task him with going to check it out. But what he doesn't count on is finding a woman sneaking about the ship trying to escape and then getting shot at. His dragon half just wants to protect the woman but his man half doesn't feel the same compulsion. After he rescues her and gets her to his island there is an instant connection between her and both of his halves. When she finds out his true nature she will do anything to protect him even if that means leaving and pulling the Knights away from his Island. Can you expect a 4,000 year old drakon to give up the treasure he has salvage from the ocean especially a sexy, sassy redheaded woman?

This is the 3rd book in the Blood of the Drakon series, and so far each book has concentrated on a different one of the four brothers this series surrounds - this is Ezra's story!

Ezra is a water drakon (half human half dragon), we didn't really know much about him from the other books except his love of the sea, keeps himself away on his own island, didn't really talk a lot - so I was looking forward to finding out more about him.

Sam is an archaeologist on a ship looking for lost treasure, supposedly working for the The Knights, when she's really after revenge for the murder of her friend by the Knights. Her plan is to steal any found artifacts away from the Knights. But they are on to her and her life becomes very dangerous.

Ezra has been watching the ship and its divers bringing up 'treasure', and has witnessed the woman trying to sneak off the ship and the man who is on the ship threatening her life.

Ezra and Sam are just perfect for each other, tailor made in every way! She's a little spitfire but her loyalty and love for Ezra just screams at you from off the page. Ezra can't believe his feelings for this woman in such a short space of time and is fiercely protective. Their sexual chemistry is sizzlingly hot!!

This is a great series, and I have enjoyed each one, all very different characters and different personalities. I can't wait for book 4 to find out about the final brother, Nic, the socialite, but who is losing the will to live after being alive for a few thousand years. Bring it on!!!

I love this Drakon PNR series! It's so interesting how all the Drakon's are finding their mates--especially Ezra and Sam! They're so perfect for each other with their love of history and artifacts. Now finally Nic's story is next!

Ezra. Ezra. Ezra. This time around Ezra gets his mate. He gets to be the one that goes all protective, alpha, he-man, or he-drakon. Up to this point he was more of the strong silent type. There has been something about Ezra through the other books that drew me to him. Now, I have him and his story.

Here we have yet another four-thousand-year-old dragon that has had limited outside contact. But there was just something that he could not deny in the frail, wet, beauty that he plucked from the waters, Sam. Sam has her own mission and that was one of revenge. She wanted to make those that killed her mentor pay. She just did not expect it may cost her, her life in the process.

When Ezra and Sam finally have that face-to-face, her concise and all, sparks fly. Ezra was aware of what was happening. Poor Sam was not sure but felt the pull all the same.

With each new addition to the series I fall more in love with the Blood of the Drakon. I am a bit sadden that there is only one brother left yet to go. I suggest you begin at the beginning and work your way to this point. It’s not required to understand this read but it will help you with some of the small glimpses you get throughout.

Who are Ezra, Nicodemus, Tarrant, and Darius? Who are the Knights of the Dragon and the Dragon Guard? Who are Valeriya and Sarah? Where are all these people? What has happened with Sam Bellamy, a doctor and archeologist, that has put everyone on alert? What was Dr. Bellamy hired for? Who hired her? What does she find? After her find, she takes some drastic measures. What happens and where does she go? Why did she take the measures she took? What is the outcome? This book is full of suspense, paranormal, fantasy, romance, thrills, love, and more. I cannot wait for the next book of the series to come out! I know that if I say too much about this book that I had a really hard time putting down, that I will give away spoilers and the plot of the book. Enjoy the read. I sure did!

RC from NetGalley.

This is the third book of the series. It revolves around Ezra, a water dragon.

This was a really good story. From the start to the finish, it has certain coherence. Most especially, Sam. From the very beginning of the book, we see her as someone who will do everything to acquire the relic in the ocean to destroy it. She does not know what she had entered; all she knows is that she needs to avenge her mentor’s death.

Along came Ezra.

I love how she tried her best to protect him, even though he is has been doing it far longer than she have known him. I cannot call it love at first sight, lust, yes, but the love came from the constant worry of hers. Well, the dragon half of him knows from the beginning, but that is given. It’s the man that has to come to a realization.

It’s a book that would satisfy your love for treasures and love. how a drakon, finds his other half and does everything to protect the person who is more important than the richest he had amassed for a hundred years.

He now has what two of his brother’s holds dear…

A mate.

I look forward to reading the last brother’s story.

DRAKON'S PLUNDER is book three, but it seemed to follow the same timeline as the previous two books in the series.

Although Ezra and Sam have just as strong of a connection and the bedroom scenes are just as hot as the previous two couples, I will admit that I got bored more than once while reading. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy the couples of this series, but I would love to see more outside interaction. Besides book one, the couples are always on their own in a little bubble having lots of sex with little outside interaction except for one, maybe two, action scenes. I would like to see some more relationship development to go with the insta-lust the couples all seem to have had. I would like to see some more action with the Knights of the Dragon. Besides one big conflict that is always instigated by the Knights, I would like to see some development in the Drakons beating them back. I really just need more at this point in the series to keep reading.

From the ending of DRAKON'S PLUNDER I have high hopes that book 4 will have two of the brothers together again in the same book for more than a chapter which I am hoping will heat the series back up for me. Fingers crossed.

Sam Bellamy is on an archaeologist, stuck on a ship with people who want her dead. She’s determined to find the object the Knights of the Dragon want so she can keep it from them – she knows they were responsible for killing her mentor. And while she doesn’t believe in dragons, they do. But when Ezra rescues her from the ocean, she finds everything she ever believed in changing.

While this is the third book in the series, it is not strictly necessary to have read the previous books in the series and Ms. Walters provides enough information about the world to inform a new reader without making them feel lost. However, you will likely get more enjoyment from reading the previous books first.

Ms. Walters has written a well-paced adventure full of romance and intrigue and suspense. Sam and Ezra work together really well and while I found some of Sam’s actions to be a bit short-sighted, I can still respect why she made the decisions she did. The world of the Drakons is a rich one and this is a fun series. Drakon’s Plunder” is a worthy entry into this verse and Ezra and Sam are a fun couple.

5 stars.

Water Drakon, Treasure, Steamy Scenes and Humor, Oh My!

I generously received this book in exchange for an honest review. This book was a pleasure to read and kept me on the edge of my seat.
Sam is a human determined to that the Knights of the Dragon for killing her mentor/father figure and then disappearing but she's way in over her head.
Ezra is a four thousand year old Water Drakon (part human, part water dragon) who lives on his own island off the coast of Maine, owns a successful marine salvage company and generally keeps to himself other than maintaining contact with his brothers.

He is out keeping an eye on a boat when he happens to see a woman in a dinghy being shot. He rams the boat in his water dragon form which causes it to sink though the humans survive and he rescues the mysterious woman, bringing her to his home. He's leery of her because she could be the enemy but he does what he can to nurse her back to health.

Sam is leery of Ezra at first despite him saving her life because he's a stranger and she's not sure if he might have ill intentions which is perfectly understandable and realistic.

Eventually these two unlikely people learn to trust neither of them is the enemy which grows into a friendship and then a bond that happens only once in a drakon's lifetime.

Danger is just on the horizon though and both will have to make decisions that will either strengthen the bond they have formed or tear it to pieces.

This book was an interesting mix of magic, myth, adventure, steaminess, humor, and a few twists. I'm glad that I read this book and look forward to reading more in this series. With Drakons in the mix, how could I not want to read more and hopefully find out if there's more in this particular world than the four brothers?!

I've been dying to get my hands on Ezra's book ever since I finished Drakon's Prey in April! And I'm really glad I didn't have to wait too long!
This is the third book in the Blood of the Drakon series and it features Ezra, the third of the four brothers who is a water drakon. Both Darius and Tarrant have found their mates and Ezra is starting to feel the pangs of loneliness. In the previous books we only get to see glimpses of the quiet Ezra which had me really curious to learn more about him.And I got my fill in this one!

Sam is an archaeologist with a gift for finding artifacts. But that's not the only reason she's on a salvage boat working for the Knights. She wants revenge since they killed her mentor. And if being able to just steal away atleast one of the artifacts that they're searching for is something she can do, she's ready to do it.But she's surrounded by danger and she knows it.

After taking the artifact, getting shot and almost drowning she's saved by a man who seems to have appeared out of nowhere. But there is this undeniable connection between them..

Ezra doesn't know why he saved Sam, but he knows he isn't ready to let her go just yet.She maybe working for the Knights, but her stories say otherwise. And the drakon within him knows that she is his.But will they be able to survive the storm that is heading their way?

The relationship between Ezra and Sam developed quite quickly, even faster than the ones in the previous books. But it was done in a completely believable manner!I could feel the connection and the chemistry between them and also could understand the reasoning behind the decisions that they made.Ezra and Sam were great main characters! But I think Sam was my favorite. The way she was level headed, independent but not hasty and, fiercely protective made me love her just as much as Ezra did.Ezra was so amazing! The drakon brothers have such different personalities and temperaments, but have a connection and few similarities too!

The action and the way the author built up and kept expanding the plot had me on the edge of my seat!By the end, I was left feeling even more curious than I was before!
And the next book is going to be Nic's!!Can I just say how excited I am for it!It's so sad to see him all alone when all his brothers have been paired up!But he'll be meeting his girl soon! And I think I might have a few guesses on who it could be!But who knows I could be completely wrong as well!

I have been reading Ms. Walters books for a while and haven't had the pleasure of reading this series. Not sure how I missed it since I like her books and I love dragons. These dragons are not your normal dragons and have an interesting back story. Of course since I started reading this series in the middle I am going to have go read the first two. Good thing I already have one of them in my to be read pile.

Sam was my kind of heroine. She is intelligent, brave and a take no crap kind of girl. I liked her a lot She would make a great bestie. And Ezra even though he older than dirt lol he is not caveman kind of guy. He is protective and alpha to the bone but he's not an asshole about it. I did like his powers He can fly and he can swim. Man can he swim. I believe this is first time I've read a book about a water drakon and I liked it.

My only issue with this book was that it kind of ended abruptly. It had a happy for now with Sam and Ezra but kind of left the story hanging. You don't know what the Knights were doing and Sam was kind of left in limbo what with them hunting her. I'll definitely be reading the next book to see the resolution. I give this book 4 stars and was given this book via Netgalley in consideration of a review which in no way influenced my opinion.

Okay somewhere along the line I missed the second book in this series but I think I did well catching up in this third book.

This time we get to learn more about Ezra and I think I fell in love almost immediately. Even though his is unlike his brothers, he trusts his instincts and goes with it without giving up his alpha status. With this book it circled more around Ezra than the knights. It was a surprise and appreciated. I think the author did a wonderful job with his story and I can't wait to see what's next. But, I will have to backtrack and read the second book to see what exactly I missed.

Sam Bellamy is an archaeologist with a special gift for relics with a touch of magic. She knows the people she is working for on this exhibition are bad guys, but she needs to steal or destroy whatever it is they are after.
Ezra Easton is a drakon (water dragon shifter) . There is a ship owned by their enemies the knights of the dragon that is looking for something near his home. He must make sure it's not something that could hurt him or his brothers. He will investigate.
An action packed story with lots of sexy fun and wonderful characters. This is part of a series that is better read in order to follow the back story about the enemies. I have read all of this series so far and it is great. I look forward to the next book. It will probably be set in a hot desert somewhere.

Drakon’s Prey was just as good as I thought it was going to be, the characters were well written and really easy to “connect” with.

The book isn’t page after page of on-the-edge-of-your-seat action, now for some people that might be a let-down but for me? I was so glad! There are SO many supernatural books out there that are exactly that (page after page of just action), that this was a refreshing change, not to mention that I wasn’t mentally exhausted after reading it - like I tend to be with other similar books 😂

The only problem I had was that the characters were professing feelings for each other in (what was mentioned to be) 24 hours. But on the plus side, so much happened in those 24 hours it honestly didn't feel like just a day had passed so I was able to overlook that.

I thought this was going to be the last book in the Drakon's series but I COMPLETELY forgot about Nic (Oops!) I have a feeling though that his book will end up being the best of the bunch!

I really enjoyed this book. It was a good twist to the dragon myth we all know. It also left the door open for more to follow. The connections were great and immediate.

*voluntarily and honestly reviewed the ARC I received from IndieSage PR*

LOOOVED this latest installment in the Blood of the Drakon series. Ezra has always been an interesting character from the first book because he was a water drakon with his own island, and the hermit mentality to pair well with his one-man adventures involving treasure and artifacts under the sea. Like, he's every mermaid's dream. And I enjoyed Sam a lot! It was almost hilarious though with how often he had to save her from getting hypothermia, like... yikes. It's almost like the gods gave her that one thing because of how hot and passionate she was about everything else. This was a lighter read to me, it felt like. More laughter, more feel-good vibes. It almost scares me with what Nic may have to deal with lol. An overall enjoyable, beautiful feel-good-yes-please story that I won't be getting over anytime soon.

I was really excited for the third installment in the Blood of the Drakon series. I fell in love with Tarrant in book two and the brief glimpses of Ezra, the water drakon, captured my interest and had me breathlessly anticipating this one. I was disappointed to find that Drakon's Plunder fell flat for me.

Here's what I did like. I enjoyed Sam Bellamy, our archeologist. She has a passion for her job and in myths and legends, and to find out that perhaps there's truth to the myths? Perfection! The Knights of the Dragon subplot also plays a huge role throughout the series and it adds a good dose of tension.

Here's what didn't work for me. If you've read some of my other reviews, you'll know I'm not a fan of insta-love. I like angst-ridden, push/pull storylines where the characters have to work for their connection. This book was definitely insta-love. Ezra and Sam don't have time to really talk or develop a connection before falling for each other, and I didn't believe in them as a couple. I was hoping the plot would push forward, but it didn't happen for me.

I think anyone who enjoys insta-love would definitely find this much to their liking! Unfortunately, it just didn't work for me.
