I loved the characters and the storyline development of this book. It was absolutely one of my favorites so far and I can't wait to delve in to the next one that this author writes. The storyline was simple, enjoyable, and entertaining.

A super cute romance that has passion and romance. The author did a great job covering serious subjects in this book and making the reader aware of the strength needed to listen and act. The connection between super star Briana and Gareth the regular guy makes the reader believe there should be things worth fighting for. This was the first book that I believe I have read by this author and I look forward to reading more. Thank you NetGalley and Kate J. "Falling Star" is everything you'd want from a summer romance read: complicated female protagonist, sensitive and ambitious male lead, and a beautiful setting. It's a story of finding yourself (again), redemption, and how love can change your life.

Briana Brite is a sassy pop star who has been sent by her record label to Star Island, an exclusive resort, to hide from the limelight following an incident with a late night tv host. Unbeknownst to them, the tv host attempted to assault Briana, and she punched him. But because Briana chooses to be completely silent except when performing, no one knows her side of the story, she has long ago severed ties with her family and has no real friends to share her exile with. After spotting massage therapist (referred to in this book as a "masseur"), Gareth, on the beach, she hires him for a massage. Briana and Gareth have an immediate physical and emotional/spiritual connection, so Briana hires him as her personal masseur for her 3 week stay in Star Island,

Gareth came to Star Island following his mother's death, and is the guardian of his 17-year old sister, Skye. He is passionate about holistic health and wellness, and has big dreams of opening his own wellness resort someday. In the meantime he is on Star Island to save enough money to pursue his dream.

Briana and Gareth connect emotionally, opening up to each other and sharing their woes, fears, and dreams. Briana actually speaks to him, the first person she has spoken to in 10 years. They manage to avoid physical contact.. for a while... because Gareth doesn't want to jeopardize the Island's strict policy against relationships with clients, But eventually they can't contain their sexual tension any longer and begin having sex in secret. Their sexual encounters are steamy and leave the reader reading along quickly in anticipation of the lovers next move.

What will happen when Briana leaves Star Island, and becomes a star again? Will their relationship survive? Is it love, or just lust? Briana and Gareth must navigate their budding romance in the wake of Briana's media makeover and star status, and Gareth's inability to leave Star Island.
