Judging by the first few chapters, this sequel to The War That Saved My Life will be just as compelling to read. The story begins as the main character is awaiting surgery in a hospital during World War II.. The events in this book immediately follow the events of the previous book, so if readers have not read the first book, they might be confused. Since this was just a preview of the first few chapters, it's difficult to compose a thorough review, but I will eagerly await the rest of the book, which I currently have on order at my local public library.

I've been eagerly awaiting this book after reading a preview on NetGalley. Bradley does not disappoint in this follow up to Ada's story. Now that Ada is no longer "lame" she finally has the chance to be a kid. But what does that mean? Ada is learning to adjust to her new role, figuring out how be a part of a loving family, but most importantly trying to find out who she is. All of my favorite characters are back in this sequel and we learn more about many of them and their lives.

My students are fighting over who gets to read the book first when I am finished. I can't wait to hand it to the first classroom reader on Monday! This book does not disappoint.

This book continues the story of two siblings, Ada and Jamie, who are sent away to a small rural town to escape the dangers of London during World War II. They have become comfortable with their temporary guardian, Susan, but many more trial face these two young people. I really enjoyed the characters, especially the brave and resilliant Ada, and I am looking forward to seeing the outcome of her future experiences.

The excerpt looks to me a promising historical fiction for readers of all age with the engaging pace and plot.
Looking forward to read the finished product. I just realized this title is the second installment in the series. A copy of the first book has been placed and I can't wait to read both the first book and the second one. Thanks Netgallery for opening up new options for me to read and my appreciation to Penguin Group for the opportunity to preview the title.

Chapters 1-3 were shared by the publisher as a sneak-peek. Judging by these first few chapters, the sequel will be every bit as wonderful as the first book.

The Sneak Peek that I received from NetGalley of "The War I Finally Won" was a great teaser! It reminded me of how much I liked Ada in "The War That Saved My Life". I was thrilled when I found out that there was a sequel to that original book and I’m really looking forward to reading "The War I Finally Won" in its entirety.

This short and sweet sneak peek into the followup of "The War That Saved My Life" is a great teaser. I cannot wait to read the whole thing-it picks up shortly after the events of TWTSML. Looking forward to reading more.

I LOVED the first book and was thrilled that a second book was coming. I received a short sampler of this 2nd book - I CANNOT wait to read the rest! The miscommunication continues between an adult who knows everything she is talking about, and a little girl who was shut away from everything and is assuming the worst! "What's a funeral?" I anticipate the rest of the book narrowing that gap, helping little Ada come to finally have confidence that she is truly wanted, and where she will stay for the rest of her childhood! The fear of displacement, of rejection, of aching loneliness that she continually lives with is heartbreaking! Waiting anxiously...!

The War I Finally Won starts a week after The War That Saved My Life ends. Ada is in the hospital under Susan's care. She's just had surgery to fix her twisted foot. Something her mother would never approve of. Ada's mother always told her she was damaged, but she's not anymore. Ada's also just lost her mother to a bombing, and though she never had a good relationship with her mother, it's still her mother. As Ada and Jamie start their life with Susan seeking legal guardianship of them, the three chapter Sneak Peek ends! I can't wait to read the whole novel. October 3rd can't get here soon enough!

Loved this book! It picked up where the last one left off, with the same intensity. If you haven't read the first book, "The War That Saved My Life," you should and be ready when "The War I Finally One" is released! The books are wonderfully written stories that follow the traumatic life of a young boy and his older, physically impaired sister during World War II.

This is a review of the sneak peak of The War I Finally Won so this won't be a full review:

Ada was born with clubfoot but when it is surgically fixed she knows that she is not damaged or deranged as her Mother had told her. But she soon finds out she is not a daughter anymore either because her Mother is killed in a factory.

She and her brother are staying with their legal guardian Lady Thorton will not be able to keep them, the Cottage is often overcrowded and tense but when a Jewish girl from Germany moves in the occupants of the house are horrified.

Five out of five stars

Happy Reading!

A gripping introduction to the sequel to How the War Saved My Life. In just a few chapters the scene is set for a powerful continuation of a story that presents the moral complexities of this terrible world conflict. I can't wait to read the rest of the story!

I was given the opportunity via Netgalley.com to have a sneek-peak read of this book. It was definitely interesting and I will no doubt look up the book to read further.

Thank you to the author, publisher and Netgalley.com for this opportunity.
