Honestly, I tried so hard getting into this one after reading the fantastic review but it's just not for me! I don't prefer romantic suspense a lot of the times because I'm a guilty skim reader and I like to fast forward a bunch of pages when things slow down. Oops! This makes it harder for me to concentrate on the story.

Disavowed is the third novel in the NYPD Blue & Gold series, and the second book in the series I've read. I wish I could give it the same 5-star rating I gave to the first novel in the series, Burnout, but it just didn't live up to the standard set by that novel, or my expectations, and I can only give this one a 3 star rating.

The hero, Dom, is a detective with the NYPD, and he first meets Daisy, a flower shop owner, because their best friends (Alex and Gray) met and fell in love, and she and Dom fall into bed for some seriously steamy sex within hours of meeting each other and going on their first date, and when Daisy wakes up the next morning, Dom is gone--no goodbye kiss, no note, no Dom, and she's utterly crushed, and although the author makes it clear that Daisy has self-esteem issues, it seemed hard to believe that a beautiful woman would even entertain the possibility that a one-night stand would result in undying love.

One year later, Daisy and Dom are maid of honor and best man, respectively, at Alex and Gray's wedding, and, in that year, Daisy hasn't found anyone that lights her fire the way Dom did and remains celibate, while Dom has continued his string of one-and-dones, although we're supposed to believe that it's Daisy he really wants. While Daisy is avoiding Dom like the plague during the rehearsal and wedding, they practically have sex right before the wedding in a back dressing room, and, of course, they're interrupted. During the reception he's ultra-possessive of her, basically forcing her to dance with him, which, considering that he's about to go deep undercover in the hopes of infiltrating and bringing down an international ring of assassins known as The Pyramid, seemed cold and heartless to this reader, but that doesn't stop him-- Daisy does when she finally realizes where they are and what they're about to do.

Granted that Daisy has self-esteem issues, although we're not told why at the outset, but she certainly has enough men who are attracted to her. Dom has serious issues too--the first woman he loved was blown to pieces by terrorists in Afghanistan years ago, and he's vowed to never love another woman because he can't handle the pain of loss. It would have been nice to let Daisy know that up front. That being the case, his on-again, off-again behavior toward Daisy seemed unnecessarily cruel and heartless to this reader. Both characters behaved like teenagers rather than mature adults, and I'm sad to say, their behavior toward one another didn't endear me to either of them.

What did work well in this novel was the way the suspense overcame my annoyance over their non-relationship once Dom tries and succeeds to tarnish his own reputation at the NYPD, get fired, and then jump through the hoops necessary to join and infiltrate the terrorist organization, The Pyramid, which he does. There's a nefarious plot in the works that ties in to the re-opening of the newly refurbished luxury hotel, The Piazza (located in exactly the same location as the real Plaza Hotel on 5th Avenue in NYC), and Daisy has been hired to create and supply all the floral arrangements for the big grand opening gala. She's also hired a new driver to deliver these huge arrangements--Jack. When Dom first sees him, he realizes that not only is Jack one of the members of The Pyramid, the same man who once served with him, and he correctly guesses that Jack is using Daisy as a cover to get inside The Piazza. He soon learns that Jack is also attracted to Daisy, but Dom obviously can't warn her without giving himself away, and so the plot continues to unwind until the exciting and inevitable conclusion.

Even after the suspenseful part of the novel wraps up, Dom's behavior continued to totally tick me off. I kept wanting to shake him by the shoulders and yell, "Make up your mind already!" and "Get over it!". Daisy's belief that Dom is the only man for her also annoyed me, especially when the man dragged her close one minute and tossed her aside the next, disappearing without a word for months at a time. We do learn why Daisy has low self-esteem eventually, but since she and Dom do very little talking, invariably letting their sexual chemistry take over, their relationship made little sense to me. Love is more than a guy capable of giving you great orgasms, yet that seems to be the sum total of their relationship, and it's one of the many reasons for my 3-star rating.

This novel had a lot of promise, but in this reader's opinion, it failed to fulfill that promise. Perhaps if Dom hadn't continued to engage in one-nighters after falling in insta-love during his first night with Daisy he'd have been more a more admirable hero. A couple of intelligent conversations, some character development and relationship-building were desperately needed to make this romance and its characters both believable and sympathetic.

Dom Carew is ex-special forces and veteran cop. He has survived the loss of his great love, Anika, barely and he is never going to fall down that hole of despair again. He keeps all interactions with females light and even though he feels a tug towards the lovely Daisy, he leaves in the middle of the night. Best to leave her now than watch her get hurt when he commences his deep undercover role.

Daisy finally thought she had met a man worth her time. Her business is thriving but her love live...not so much. Dom is the best friend of her friends fiancee so the wedding is going to get a bit frosty when she and Dom are both in the wedding party.

But when Daisy gets involved in his undercover op, Dom finds himself falling for Daisy. But that not safe for him or her and even when saving her he is prepared to walk away. Poor Daisy is abandoned by Dom yet again!

Great suspense and I loved all the deep undercover work Dom does, even though it puts him at loggerheards with former friends and colleagues. I did relish it when Dom finally leaves his heart open and lets Daisy in!

When I first discovered this author with Burnout, I was instantly intrigued with this series. I love all things romantic suspense and this author knows how to write some great suspense.

Disavowed was definitely a great suspense story. I was riveted to the pages, anxious to see how everything unfolds. Where it lost me, unfortunately, was the romance. It fell completely flat. As much as I wanted to love Dom, his constant back and forth drove me nuts. I love a good tortured hero, but I simply had a hard time buying it here. Dom lost his first love in a terrible attack 15 years ago and since then has had a revolving door of women that he's unable to commit to even an entire night to. Leaving like a thief in the night is his MO and one he's not looking at changing, even for a woman that makes him question everything.

The epilogue that introduces the MC's meeting simply wasn't enough to hook me on their connection and so their constant back and forth that takes place a year later was an exercise in frustration for me. Daisy's celibacy during that year simply served as another irritant. I understood the why's of everything that happened between them, but because I never formed a connection to the couple, it only frustrated me. Dom's irrational jealousy when he sees potential competition for Daisy while still refusing to commit to her drove me nuts. Daisy giving into their "chemistry" so easily every time he came around was an additional irritant when she was so adamant in telling him how much she hates him.

The one solid constant that kept me reading was the suspense plot, which I enjoyed thoroughly.

Will I read other books by this author? Absolutely. She's clearly talented and my issues were personal pet peeves simply with the characters and you can't love them all. But just because I had these issues, doesn't mean you will. So if you're craving some undercover cops, sizzling suspense, and a steamy second chance romance, give it a go and judge for yourself.

I need to be having words with my book friends. Why has no one mentioned this author to me before? I have literally just finished this book, and I feel amped up on all of the adrenaline coursing through my system. What a heart-pounding romantic suspense/crime thriller.

Now, I have to confess that it was the cover that first drew me to the book *shrugs* Come on peeps, you all know me a little by now *smirks* I’m a sucker for a fine-looking man *snorts*, and I apologise for nothing, but I quickly became entangled in the suspense-filled story unfolding between the pages.

Detective Dom Carew is haunted by his time spent in the military and Afghanistan as a serving officer in the elite Delta Force. More importantly, the woman he loved who was so cruelly taken from him. Unable to commit emotionally with a woman since, how can I put this? *taps chin* he has become a bit of a playboy (that’s putting it politely!). Never making promises he doesn’t intend to keep. Only one night with Daisy Fowler rocks him to his very core. Scared by his feelings, he does a very ungentlemanly thing, and runs out on her during the night.

Fast forward a year, and he is about to embark on the most dangerous UC mission of his career. This one is personal, and the stakes are very high indeed. The last thing he needs is for Daisy to appear back in his life, or to become embroiled in his mission. But, fate has already deemed otherwise.

Once bitten, twice shy, as they say – Daisy has learnt her lesson where the very sexy Dom Carew is concerned. I loved all the police procedural elements of the story – trying to work out what was going on, and if my theories would pan out or not. Yes, there is a sense of predictability with the story, but this, by no means, detracted from my enjoyment of this book. What’s not to love about a sexy cop, and the feisty woman that, finally, brings him to his knees? It’s the stuff dreams are made of *giggles*

I’m off to download the first two books in the series, and I’m uber-excited about the author’s upcoming Federal K-9 romantic suspense series. I need all the words! Yup, I’m greedy like that.

This is the first book I’ve read from this author. I enjoyed the suspense the author gave us in this book. I couldn’t wait to see how everything would unfold. Unfortunately the author lost me with the romance between Dom and Daisy. I so wanted to like Dom but he was too back and forth for me. I kept yelling “make up your mind already”! I love a good tortured hero character, but I just had a hard time with this character. I also found myself a bit frustrated with Daisy; I felt she was a bit weak to me. Dom was confusing emotionally, and a girl should only have to take so much before she moves on. But this is just my feeling on the romance, that doesn’t mean the steamy sexy scene were lacking because they were not. I did enjoy the suspense the author gave us in this book, it kept me reading. If you like steamy second chance romance with suspense and undercover cops you should read and judge for yourself.

The character building in this book is so stunning that it was easy to believe in their story and in their situation.. Sitting on the edge of my seat while reading about Dom's past, their first passing in the night so to speak, their loss of one another and the winding way back to each other gave me serious reader anxiety. I liked Daisy and couldn't wait for the two of them to get together and make a go of it. The story did have other aspects that make it likable, Dom's career and his mission to make things right added to my feelings of love for this book.

Disavowed feels like it should have simply been a thriller/suspense novel with a nod to Dom's womanizing history, rather than a romantic suspense, because the romance part of Disavowed is seriously lacking, even though it's the whole point of the story.

Daisy's best friend is soon to marry Dom's partner and best friend and Daisy's not looking forward to seeing the best man again. About a year before the wedding, before the proposal even, Daisy and Dom hooked up for one steamy night. They connected on a physical, and more importantly, an emotional level while steaming up the sheets, and yet, Dom sneaked out in the middle of the night, leaving Daisy hurt and fuming that the man ran from the obvious connection they had shared. Dom is a messed up guy, we're hit over the head with that every other paragraph, and it got really old. I get it, the man's damaged by his time in Afghanistan and the love of his life dying, and now he needs the love of a good woman to heal him. That would be all fine and dandy, if he had actually allowed a good woman close enough to heal him. But no...he pushed Daisy away constantly, keeping a leash on her emotionally and mentally, that I wished she had just severed, for everyone's sake.

The suspense portion of Disavowed is what I enjoyed most. Dom's working undercover on a case, and when that case and Daisy intersect, that's when Dom and Daisy get involved again. Sigh...if only Tee had kept the suspense portion at the forefront, or had given the romance aspect a fine-tuning, allowing Dom to get his head out of his ass much sooner, then I might have rooted for them as a couple. As it's written, though, I just could not connect with them, either individually or as a couple. Dom's a douche, seriously, he allows his damage to control his actions and it was annoying and cruel to Daisy. Daisy was a doormat, unfortunately. She should have never allowed Dom back into her life time and again! Even toward the end, he ran AGAIN and Daisy took him back AGAIN! Just no is what Daisy should have said, many times, and it's what I say to the romance in Disavowed. The suspense/thriller aspect? Yes, definitely yes.

If you're looking for a well-balanced romantic suspense, you should look elsewhere. If you want a nicely suspenseful case with a clunky romance that doesn't work, Disavowed is what you're looking for.

This book had me hooked right from the start.I really liked Dom,that being said i spent half the book wanting to slap him but i did kind of understand him.Daisy i loved and could not help feeling for her this is a great addition to the series can't wait for more.

Couldn't finish this book. It was too focused on the crime and what was going on that I felt no connection to either character.

I have loved this series immensely from the first book and I've got to say, for a newbie, the author knows how to write really great suspense. In fact I enjoyed the previous book so much I couldn't wait to get my hands on this one and find out how the overarching story-line ends. And the author does not disappoint and keeps you turning the pages as quickly as you can.

However, while the suspense was great, the romance fell flat for me. Dom was too annoying with his flip-flopping when it came to Daisy and his general bed-hopping ways. People deal with grief in different ways, but he clearly used his grief as an opportunity to avoid any connections with women, even the one woman who made him feel again after losing a woman he loved so long ago.

Daisy wasn't any better unfortunately. By herself, she had a lot of potential, but paired with a damaged hero like Dom, she struck the wrong cord for me, like they both had too much baggage. Between both of them, I was over the romance very early on in the book, but I stuck around for the rest of it and it was enjoyable. I'm a little let down that I didn't enjoy this book as much as I did the last one, though

If you enjoy an engrossing suspense and a well-written story, then you may want to check this story out.

The feelings Dom Carew has had for Daisy Fowler ever since he met and then spent an incredible night with her have Dom running scared and uncertain whether he'll be able to do anything about said feelings, considering the last woman he loved died a horrible death. However, for the moment he needs to put his feelings on the back burner, if he's to successfully complete the dangerous undercover assignment he's agreed to take on. Infiltrating the Pyramid isn't going to be easy, but Dom's determined to take the group of assassins down once and for all. Yet, when things become too dangerous, will Dom be able to protect the one person he's fallen for, or will Daisy be another reminder of his failure to protect someone he loves?

Ms. O'Fallon has delivered a fantastic and mesmerizing read in this third book of her NYPD Blue and Gold series, which had plenty of twists and turns when it came to the suspense; plenty of obstacles for the incredible main characters to overcome to be together, especially since Daisy feels she can no longer trust Dom after what he did to her; and wonderful dialogue that made this story a total page turner, as Dom knows how to get under the heroine's skin. The way this story started with the prologue sets the fast pace of this story, as there's remarkable and powerful chemistry between this couple that had me determined to discover where Daisy and Dom would go from there. Will Dom be able to let go of the past to have a future with Daisy? Will Daisy give Dom a second chance?

Both the main characters were compelling and I loved how Dom teased the heroine to get her to talk to him, which isn't easy with her abandonment issues and her belief that they could have had something worthwhile, if he hadn't have done what he did a year ago. The heroine is also resilient, independent and I could sympathize with her when it came to her past, because of a tragedy that happened on a special day to her. I also liked the heroine's enthusiasm for her career as a florist and how she handled herself when it came to anyone determined to hurt her. Certainly, she's a fighter and doesn't give up, no matter how tough the odds are. While the hero, I couldn't help but empathize with him when it comes to his past. Will he be able to keep Daisy safe when he couldn't save another woman he loved years ago? However, he's confident, smart, a good detective and I liked his determination to take down the pyramid once and for all. I also liked how protective the hero was of Daisy and that he would do anything to keep her safe, especially in the moment when the odds aren't in his favor.

Overall, Ms. O'Fallon has penned another superb read for this series where the chemistry was strong between this couple; the romance hot and nicely-detailed in doing justice to this couple's chemistry; and the ending had me on the edge-of-my-seat because of what the hero and heroine face from the Pyramid. However, in saying that, I liked how Dom made things right between him and Daisy, as he realizes that he deserves a second chance at love and that there's no one more perfect for him than the heroine. I would recommend Disavowed by Tee O'Fallon, if you enjoy romantic suspense, the sexy protector trope or books by authors Katie Reus, Toni Anderson, Sheryl Nantus and Kat Martin.

Wow, I was hooked from beginning to end. The story is fast-paced with loads of suspense and drama. Dom and Daisy are great characters and the story really draws you in, the chemistry between Dom and Daisy is steamy. I really liked it!

I love a good romantic suspense and Tee O'Fallon is an author who knows how to write a good one. She had my heart racing with some twisty ups-and-downs. Still, that was not enough to make me love the story. As much as I wanted to like Dom, I just couldn't and that raised a red flag for me.

Disavowed didn't disappointed in the suspense department, but unfortunately, it fell flat in the romantic one. I didn't believe in their so called chemistry. Add to the mix that both characters, the hero and the heroine, frustrated the hell out of me and yeah, I was in trouble.

And you can't love them all. But of course these are my feelings-issues and it doesn't mean you are going to feel the same way, right? So if you're looking for a second chance romance with a sizzling dose of suspense, give this book a try.

Disavowed is one of those books that I started to read and was not sure if I was going to like it at first. Then the BOOM! The book clicked with me and I didn't put it down until I finished reading it. This is book 3 in the NYPD Blue & Gold series. This book can be read as a stand alone without any issues if this is the first book you pick up, but if you plan on going back for the first two be warned it does give away spoilers for the other two books. That said, it wasn't anything that would keep me from going back and reading them. Dom is one broken man and man do I love those guys. Daisy was a feisty woman and I really admired her. The book was full of suspense and high intrigue. The one thing that bothered me was at the end of the book. I wont give that tidbit away but I just had a hard time with that. I still enjoyed the book and would recommend it to anyone looking for some seriously sexy suspenseful romance.

In addition to being a second chance at love story it was also a exciting drama filled read.

I had to change the beginning of my review because my notes on the first pages weren’t exactly too nice.
ANYWAY, the book was a nice read overall, it had good potential, it just didn’t turn out the way it could have and the way I wished.

I thought there were some parts a bit too long-winded that could have been avoided (and wouldn’t have taken anything away from the story) and other parts a wee bit predictable.

I didn’t really like the insta love (especially when in the prologue they had just met and the female lead decided she was in love and he was the one, whatt?!) but that’s quite personal.
Although the story was really long I felt like at the end the two main characters didn’t really know each other since their time together seemed very little.

I’m giving this book 3 stars because it was a good read and well written but not one of my favourite and there were a bunch of things I didn’t like.

Disavowed is the first book of Tee O'Fallons that I have read. I enjoyed her characters and the storyline, but I felt both fell short. I liked each character on their own but other than the chemistry between the sheets I didn't think they worked together. The story itself was to predictable and felt rushed at the end since that is really the only place there was any action.

OMGoodness!!! I absolutely loved this book! Don had me hooked from the beginning & I loved Daisy. Their chemistry would melt the pages. The suspense in this book was great! I loved the writing.
This books is loaded with action that you don't want to miss out on! I've found me a new author to stalk! Loved it! It needs 10 stars!
