3.5 stars Some elements of the plot confuse me. Why is the partner who double crosses him is also cheating on his wife? I thought the partner might come back in a revenge twist but he is there then gone. I'm also not a fan of cheating and there was a lot of it.

The story was not what I was expecting. We meet Miles and the first 40% of the story seemed about his business partner cheating and scheming. Then we also have Lydia and her husband's story. While we do need a background for the characters, I am not sure why we had so much of Miles's partner and his issues. Lydia's could have been shorter. I would have liked to have had more time with Miles and Lydia. Miles and Lydia meet late in the story. Then there is instant love after 48 hours and cheating. They were together a week. They go their separate ways and then meet up again in the last 5% of the book. Not enough time to establish a relationship.

Honestly, I'm on the fence about this one. I wanted to find out what happened, so to me that speaks volumes, but I felt in some ways the story was a bit disorganized. We had Miles's POV from the start. And then I think a chapter from Weisner and Suzanne. And then a bit later Lydia. When Lydia came around, I couldn't figure out who she was or what she had to do with the story. It became apparent later, but initially I was confused about who this woman was who so desperately wanted a baby.
The Weisner and Suzanne element had no bearing because we never saw if Suzanne found real love. Maybe that comes in another book and I just don't know about it. I thought he really loved her, but then I wasn't sure? Overall, they confused me as to why their few chapters were in the book.
Once we got to where Lydia and Miles meet, things picked up. I'm all about insta-love, though I didn't really feel it with these two. I think it would have been better to see their relationship develop a little more.
And cheating abounded in this book. I wasn't ever okay with it, but it was tolerable when it seemed like Lydia's husband wasn't going to try for the baby or their relationship, but once he did, that was kind of a turnoff. These scenarios aren't always easy. It added a layer of depth to the book, but it also made it worse in some respects. I never really thought her husband seemed all that bad until he wouldn't speak to her, so I wish their would have been a more legitimate reason for the cheating. It's a tricky subject.
Overall, I'd recommend the book. The writing is good and I liked the characters.

This would have to be the weirdest and most ridiculous book I've ever read. I have no words to even write a review. I found myself shaking my head in disbelief on certain pages. What character, millionaire or not walks around naked in front of strangers? So many "who does that?" moments in this book that my head hurts. I'm sorry to have to leave a review like this, it actually pains me. I know how hard authors work to write a book. I've never read anything by this author before and to tell you the truth I'm too scared to read anything else.

'Tycoon' by Allegra Kane is the story of Miles Stanton and Lydia Heston.
This does have a cheating theme to the story.
Lydia and her husband Mark have been trying to have a baby for about a year, with no success. It has put a terrible strain on their relationship. So much so that they are hardly talking to each other an not longer sleeping together.
Miles has issues with the death of his wife and feels the guilt of her death. This has turned him into a man who sleeps around with not commitment or feeling for the women.
But when he meets Lydia at a conference she is attending and he is speaking out he has an instant attraction and feelings for her.
Lydia too finds Miles hard to resist and feels strongly for him.
But she is in a committed relationship and he is just a playboy...can there be something more?
"My honest review is for a special copy I voluntarily read."

Let me start by saying, if you don't enjoy books with cheating then this book is not for you because it is filled with it. This was an okay read for me. The story moved at a fast pace so it seemed like a short read. I was really interested to see how things would play out. I don't mind cheating in a book because after all, its a story and I take it as that. Miles knew what he wanted and went after it. However, I really didn't like how after 5 days him and Lydia professed their love for each other. Yes, she was hurting but so was Mark. She was all in her feelings, but did she really care that little for Mark after years together? He was hurt too. Mistakes happen, but to just throw everything away made her seem selfish and I can't put that blame Miles. There were other options to what she wanted. I knew how Mark, Miles and Lydia's story played out but it left me wondering what would happen between Suzanne, Weisner and Jane. The ending was wrapped up nicely but, it didn't leave me with a happy for the couple feeling. Would I recommend this book? Sure. I can honestly say I have never read a book quite like this, and that is what had me wanting to finish it. It definitely wasn't boring and I would give another book from this author a try. I didn't care for the characters actions but the story wasn't bad.

I had several challenges with the story. The whole Weisner/Suzanne story was unnecessary. I don't understand what it's purpose was. It was frustrating that we had to wait until 1/3 of the way through the book for the Lydia and Miles to meet. Then for them to declare their love for each other after 48 hours was ridiculous. Lastly, the old adage about show don't tell...the whole story was told.
