Zafir is handsome, rich, sexy and a king, what can I say he's hot. He's also arrogant, and stubborn which took me a few pages to get past. Kat is beautiful and she had been engaged to this man before and it almost destroyed her. Now a year later he's back looking for her, but she's not the same person- she's been in a terrible accident and lost her foot. So her modeling career was gone, the man she loved gone and pretty much everything she knew-Gone! I really don't think that she needed to be crippled to make this story good, and I really hate too much real life in my romance. I still enjoyed this book and recommend it. I have already posted my review on Amazon and on Goodreads, I was just too late for the deadline on Netgalley but I'm retired now so this won't be happening much.

Sheikh Zafir Al-Noury is now king of Jandor and is trying be creative and find a way to induce investors into his Kingdom. He decides on an idea of a tour of legendary Heart of Jandor diamond. And he has just the model to help display the beautiful diamond. Kit Winter a beautiful model he had a hot and passionate affair with. Kit broke off their affair (the had also just become engaged) when a major scandal broke and Zafir is still struggling to forget the beautiful and passionate Kit.

Kit stepped away from modeling. Her heart broken after she ended things with Zafir. She never explained the photo's of her youth (the scandal). She had intended to after some thought and reflecting, but the day she was going to meet him to explain she was struck by a vehicle and also lost a part of her let. Enduring heartbreak and the physical pain of rehabilitation was excruciating. She never went back to modeling, she did learn to walk fairly well (slight limp)with a prosthetic. She is working as a waitress when Zafir offers he the job. He has no idea about her accident and ramifications from it and she will do all in her power to make sure he doesn't. She accepts his offer and will intern use the monies to help the rehab center she was at as well and return money to her friend who helped her financially.

The two then embark or a business relationship at first. But of course that wasn't possible to maintain as past hurts, unresolved feeling and issues start surfacing. The two embark on rediscovery on who they were and who they have become. So much depth of emotion and character in this love story. I found myself in tears a few times.

A well written love story of tragedy and yet second a true love. Lots of depth to each character and a well developed story as well.

This was a very good read and it's a start to a new series. You have King Zafir a man that could have had a wonderful life but instead he let go of the person that could have made that happen. Then you have Kat Winters a woman that had a rough upbringing and chose to keep somethings to herself. But by keeping things to herself and not tell her fiancé about them cost her her happiness and that night when she left it changed her life forever. In their journey back together Zafir is going to have to listen to her and hear what happened before she met him. They have this instant chemistry and they should be together but they both need to talk about what is going on and settle the misunderstanding. Once they talk and come to the understanding that they love each other then they can finally live happily ever after.

I totally recommend this read!

This is a great story and I enjoyed it very much. Both Kat and Zafir are great role models.

Kat grew up in poverty with a drug addict mother. Fortunately or unfortunately her beauty catapults her into overcoming adversity to become a very successful model. Zafir falls for her when he sees her on the cat walk and will not take no for an answer. Poor Kat keeps her crappy growing years a secret because she's ashamed and not sure of Zafir's reaction.

When pictures of her surface along with an expose of her early years Zafir walks. He can't forget Kat however and decides that a fine exorcism is due that will allow him to purge her from his system and move on and marry a suitable woman to be his Queen.

Of course these plans don't quite materialize in the way Zafir anticipates. Kat has changed significantly and as we'll find Zafir for his wealth and haughtiness is quite the hero as well. A nice gem that I enjoyed very much.

What I loved most about this story is that H stayed true during their separation. There were no OW for him and that is what made the story interesting & entertaining for me! Thank you Ms Green!

Zafir and Kat's story is emotional because of Kat's story. I have always said Abby Green is a fashion-forward writer and always tries to step outside of the box for the reader. A Diamond for the Sheikh's Mistress is no different. Not going to mention Kat's story just in case it's a spoiler but I have to say I really, really enjoyed how she was portrayed, the little incidents along the way and Zafir's handling of it all. Another heartfelt winner by one of my fave authors!

A Diamond for the Sheikh's Mistress is just amazing! This is the story of Kat and Zafir, they both meet when Kat was a world famous model and Zafir the heir to his fathers throne. Kat falls hard for Zafir but due to a tragedy in his family Zafir has closed himself of when it comes to the possibility of falling in love. Kat knows nothing of Zafir's tragedy and falls hard for him and she is so excited when he asks her to marry him, because she believes that he returns her love, but Kat's tragic past is revealed and Zafir feels used and betrayed by Kat and when he confronts Kat is very hurt as she feels that the cycle of her past is repeating itself and that because she is not perfect, that she can not be loved. Kat ends up walking out and tragedy strikes her, but Zafir knows nothing of it. 18 months later Zafir has become king, but he can not forget Kat and comes up with a plan to use her to promote good relations with his country and he also plans on getting her out of her system, so that he can find the perfect wife and make her his Queen, but things don't quite work as Zafir plans and he learns that he mistakenly judged Kat and that she is and amazing woman and that without his realizing it he has fallen for her. Now Zafir has to fight to keep Kat while showing her how precious she is to him! Abby Green is a great writer and I can wait for the next book in this series.

This was a very pleasant read and I would love to read it again in the future. Zafir and Kat were a happy couple just about to get married but they were not entirely committed (or ready) to make this important step. They were holding back information from each other and that set the premises for this story which is full of misunderstandings, love, anguish, sweet moments, and beautiful redemption. Zafir is a great hero; though at the beginning he made a mistake (a mistake with consequences) he’s actually an honorable and understanding guy. Kat has had a very difficult life and has taken some hard choices, but she is also strong and proud, and I admired that from her. Someone in the story has a physical disability due to a horrific accident, and I think that Abby Green did a good job of incorporating this situation into the plot. Overall, this is a wonderful romance and I really think Ms. Green’s fans will want to re-read this book many more times.

This book was one of the more interesting I have read. I loved the perspective of an amputee. It added another dimension of realness to the story.

When you read books by Abby Green you always know it will be enjoyable. This time she has outdone herself. The subject doesn't come up too often in romance novels where everyone perfect. I think she handled it just right. The characters were very likeable and the story moved at a good pace. I wish the story was longer.

Zafir is a man who does not like the word no, 'Zafir’s smile faded and those unusual dark grey eyes flashed. ‘You refused to engage with my offer, which I do not accept.’ Zafir is one protective man, '...being held in Zafir’s arms as he strode through the crowd, saying angrily, ‘Where the hell were you, Noor? Those people were all over her…’ I liked this book, Zafir was a very dominant, alpha man.
