Kate Meador continues the story of three estranged sisters who are brought together by their late father’s will. They are trying to keep a failing hockey team together and in their control. This book is about Isobel, who was a hockey star in her own right until a devastating injury crushed all her dreams. Now, she is a coaching consultant, working with her sisters, Harper and Violet.

Vadim is a Russian powerhouse on the ice, but a knee injury has sidelined him. He is traded to the struggling Chicago Rebels team. If that weren’t bad enough, the coach in charge of getting him in shape to take the ice again is none other than Isobel. The two share a past that ended in hurt, anger, and resentment. Yes, this pair heat up the ice even more than Harper and Remy in the first book, Irresistible You.

I always like meeting characters for the first time in a book, and Vadim definitely made an impression on me. He was beautiful, yes beautiful, but he exuded power and arrogance as well. He is known for his exploits both in and out of the bedroom. He isn’t called the Czar of Pleasure for nothing. Isobel wants nothing to do with that or so she tells herself, never mind that he sets her mind and body on fire. She has a lot riding on him getting better and taking the team to the play-offs. She knows her boundaries and how to stick to them, but Vadim sure does make it hard. He is busy crushing those walls she has built up. She doesn’t trust men because of her carousing father. I wanted her to see not all men were like that, Vadim especially. My initial thoughts about him were that he might hurt her because of his arrogance and resentment towards Isobel or Bella as he calls her. I soon discovered he wasn’t all that selfish at all, especially with Bella and his sister, Mia. I loved seeing that vulnerable and teddy bear side to him.

The characters were just aspect of the book that I loved. Meador was still building her secondary characters and her characters from the previous book, Remy and Harper. Even though the book was about Vadim and Isobel, I was still getting to know all the other characters. The attraction and relationship between them was steamy, but there was a sweetness and depth to it as well. No one understood what Isobel was going through more than Vadim. He is also an athlete and knows what an injury can cost you…not just physically but mentally as well. Poor Isobel was trying to figure out where she fit in concerning her professional life but also in getting to know her sisters. Meador continues to build on the budding relationship between the women, and she does it in a very realistic way. Towards the end of the book, I had tears in my eyes. Vadim also has dealt with an absent parent, his mother. He is trying to come to terms with his relationship with her and his sister. This was another book added to my favorites of 2017.

I highly recommend this series, and I would read them in order. As I wrote earlier, you will see the deepening bond between the sisters that, in my opinion, you would miss if you read this book before Irresistible You. It had everything I loved…friendship, family, loyalty, trust, and a second-chance romance that will surely melt your heart. Looking forward to more in the series. Meador leaves us with just enough information to whet your appetite for more!

This is the 2nd book in this series. The 2nd (half)sister's story.
Isobel is Clifford Chase's 2nd daughter. He left Harper's mom (Harper's book 1) for Isobel's mom when Harper was around 5 years old.
While Harper is all business and running the Hockey team, Isobel is focused on the actual sport of hockey. She'd silver metaled in the Sochi Olympics. Soon after, Isobel was injured in her first professional game & never played hockey again.
This is 3rd person POV, switching from Isobel to the H, Vadim.
The title is completely inaccurate. Neither Isobel, nor Vadim are over the other.
I read book 1, enjoyed it, but if you started with this one, I don't think that you'd be lost. I really do reco that you read book 1. This author really gets the Hero & heroine's chemistry. (Harper & Remy were great in Book 1)
Isobel was very young when she and Vadim met.
Isobel and Vadim meet again. They pretend to have moved on.
I absolutely loved how Isobel really dedicated she is to the Rebels. Vadim was recently traded and they are assigned to work together.
Isobel really holds her chin up and implies that maybe Vadim wasn't all that great when they knew each other before. It drives Vadim crazy.
Vadim is known as a lady's man with a lot of confidence & the looks to go with it.. He soon realizes that he has a lot to learn. On and off the ice, Isobel coaches Vadim. Vadim really does grow up in his attitude about being a giving lover.
I don't know why, but I love the part when they nap (hockey players need to nap before the big game!). It just struck me as so tender and warm and fuzzy.
There's some humor and sexy banter. Vadim's sister makes an appearance & another character (I won't say, but it's not an ow) from his past that makes Vadim grow even more empathy.
Isobel had been her (late) father's favorite. He had no sons. He pushed her to be a champion athlete. Isobel had not yet let go of her chance at a professional career.
I loved Isobel and Vadim's second chance at romance. They are older, both wiser and became friends and developed their relationship. I liked this book even more than book 1.
The 3rd book will be Violet's story. I will definitely read that one.
4.25-4.50 stars.

So Over You is the second book in Kate Meader's Chicago Rebels series, and it is a steamy, funny and entertaining second-chance romance between a sexy Russian hockey player and an incredibly talented and strong female hockey player.

Isobel Chase and Vadim Petrov’s were young lovers, who were forced apart when Isobel’s powerful father maneuvered Vadim out of the U.S. Hockey League and back to Russia. He’s been in the U.S. for years now and had significant success on the ice, and he’s just been traded to the team that Isobel co-owns with her two sisters. He’s not exactly excited to see her again, and he’s certainly not thrilled that she’s in a position of power over him, especially when she starts coaching him.

Isobel isn’t too happy about the situation either. He career as a hockey player was cut short due to injury, and she’s trying to make it as a coach in a world that isn’t friendly to female coaches. Vadim is particularly difficult, and the attraction between them that hasn’t died in their years apart makes things especially complicated.

Isobel and Vadim slowly come back together, and they have a sweet dynamic. Their chemistry is slow to ignite but potent when it does. Vadim takes some time to come around to being supportive of Isobel professionally, but when he does, he’s swoony and proves himself to be a great match for the strong-willed Isobel. So Over You is a charming and heated romance by the exceptional Kate Meader.

Title: So Over You

Author: Kate Meader
Genre: Sports Romance

*This story is for mature audiences only. Contains explicit scenes and language intended for adults 18+

Synopsis:
Three estranged sisters struggle to sustain their late father’s failing hockey franchise in Kate Meader’s sizzling Chicago Rebels series. In this second entry, middle sister Isobel is at a crossroads in her personal and professional lives. But both are about to get a significant boost with the addition of a domineering Russian powerhouse to the Rebels....

Isobel Chase knows hockey. She played NCAA, won Olympic silver, and made it thirty-seven minutes into the new National Women’s Hockey League before an injury sidelined her dreams. Those who can’t, coach, and a position as a skating consultant to her late father’s hockey franchise, the Chicago Rebels, seems like a perfect fit. Until she’s assigned her first job: the man who skated into her heart as a teen and relieved her of her pesky virginity. These days, left-winger Vadim Petrov is known as the Czar of Pleasure, a magnet for puck bunnies and the tabloids alike. But back then... let’s just say his inability to sink the puck left Isobel frustratingly scoreless.

Vadim has a first name that means “ruler,” and it doesn’t stop at his birth certificate. He dominates on the ice, the practice rink, and in the backseat of a limo. But a knee injury has produced a bad year, and bad years in the NHL don’t go unrewarded. His penance? To be traded to a troubled team where his personal coach is Isobel Chase, the woman who drove him wild years ago when they were hormonal teens. But apparently the feeling was not entirely mutual.

That Vadim might have failed to give Isobel the pleasure that was her right is intolerable, and he plans to make it up to her—one bone-melting orgasm at a time. After all, no player can perfect his game without a helluva lot of practice...

My Thoughts:
How did I miss the start of this series? I love sports romance and I am so glad I found another author that I enjoy. This is the first time I have read this author and I am going to be continuing with this series and I will be going back to check out her other material.

This is book two and this series is about three half sisters that inherit the Chicago Rebels, a troubled professional hockey team, from their philandering father after his death. Each sister has had a different relationship with their father as he went from woman to woman. The sisters had little or no relationship with each other until the will. Harper, the older sister, was ignored once he had Isobel. Now she is the most powerful woman in the NHL. Isobel followed in her father’s footsteps and played hockey. She played for Harvard, won the Silver in the Olympics and played pro hockey for a woman’s team until a career ending head injury ended her career. As her father told her, those who can’t, coach. So, Isobel is on contract to coach, having to prove herself to the GM, even though she is one-third owner of the Rebel’s. Violet, the youngest sister, never met her father or her sisters. She was nearly homeless and flat broke when she found out she inherited part of the franchise.

Isobel knows the new trade she is to work with is a sexy Russian player that she had a serious crush on when she was 18 and he was the man she chose to take her virginity. There were two problems with this. One, it was uneventful. Vadim failed to please her, and two, her father caught them and kicked Vadim out of the house chasing him with a hockey stick. He got Vadim’s passport pulled so he couldn’t try out for any US teams and ended up playing in Russia and Canada for 8 years.

So needless to say, Isobel was not thrilled to be his skating coach. He is coming off a knee injury and has lost his skating edge. Isobel is to put him through his paces and get him up to speed so he can he can help get the team to the playoffs. Oh yes, if the sisters don’t get the team into the playoffs, they have to sell the franchise, a stipulation in the will. So, they are bound and determined to get into the play0ffs and win the Stanley Cup.

The sparks fly and there is a lot of sexual tension during the skating sessions. Vadim gets told that he didn’t make Isobel’s first time as memorable as he had thought. This was told to him by his teammate that is a pain in the ass to Vadim and the sisters. This teammate was always complaining and stirring up trouble. Vadim vows to make things right with Isobel, especially since he is known as the Czar of Pleasure. The banter is terrific, not only between Isobel and Vadim, but also between the sisters and the teammates. I loved all the characters. Vadim was sexy broody and I loved how he butchered the English language at times. He and Isobel were great together.

There is a lot going on in this story, the start of a family relationship between the sisters, Harper’s relationship with Remy (a current player and their story is book 1), the dynamics between the sisters, the dynamics between the sisters and the GM (Dante), who happens to be the only openly gay GM in the NHL. There is something going on with him personally too. Vadim’s family story is a whole mess of itself. Isobel and Vadim’s growing feelings. Team dynamics. I was not bored! This story held my attention and had me flipping those pages faster then Vadim can shoot a puck! I hoovered right through it. I think the next book up is Dante’s. Squee! I can’t wait for more Rebels!

If you want a sweet, funny, and very sexy sports romance, then this is the book for you!

I love this series!

Isobel and Vadim's story drew me in from the very first page--and not just because a significant life event for both of them took place in my hometown. (Yes, Buffalo is a hockey town! Fictional characters saying it is all the validation I need--thanks, Kate Meader :)) Their past history was a great hook (Vadim trying to figure out what Isobel meant when she told Violet that their first encounter wasn't exactly--ahem, satisfying--was LOL funny) but it was their current drama that kept me turning the pages like a crazy person.

Would Isobel really risk her life to play hockey once again? Could Vadim's newly-discovered little sister bring him and his mother back together? Will coaching ever be enough for Isobel, and is coaching in the NHL even a possibility? Is Vad's knee good enough to get the team to the playoffs? Will the team stay in the Chase sisters' hands? Is Isobel or Vadim to blame for what happened the first time around, or were they just not meant to be? Can they start over again now? Should they?
And most importantly--is Little Vadim really his :most improved area" since they were last together? These questions and more needed to be answered!

Fortunately, they do get answered...eventually...and the ending of this book not only has me all but salivating for the next two, it also nearly had me clapping with glee. (Hard to do with just one hand while the other holds the ereader, though...)

Rating: 4 1/2 stars / A

Isobel is struggling in her life at the moment being stuck as a personal trainer when all she wants to do is play sucks. She finally gets the chance to play one more time even though the cost could be high.
Vadim was traded to the Rebels, he and Isobel has a past. He wants a future with her, and will do anything to have it.
I love this series and this book did not disappoint.

Super enjoyable hockey romance from Kate Meader. Isobel and Vadim had mad chemistry, and this second chance at romance checked off all the boxes for me. Definitely hooked me on wanting more from this Chicago Rebels Series!

This book was a playful, flirty, sweet sports romance, loaded with plenty of sexual tension. I just loved Isobel and Vadim’s interactions with each other. Isobel Chase is part owner of an NHL team. Her father was a hockey legend and left the team to his three daughters to jointly manage. Isobel had a strained relationship with her father. He expected great things from her, but she failed to make a hockey career after a bad injury forced her out of the game. Coaching is all she has left.

This time around, her job involves coaching the new player the team has recently traded in, Vadim Petrov, who also happens to be her teenage crush and a man who is as well known for his manwhoring ways as for his exploits on the ice. She has her work cut out for her, the sexy Russian is uncooperative and cocky. But they have to put aside their differences for the sake of the team. They butt heads more than once, but when it’s clear that Isobel is taking her role seriously, Vadim starts to cut her some slack. And he isn’t one to back down from what he wants. He cares about Isobel and wants to reconnect with her. He is supportive, but his underhanded attempts to protect her were rather ill-advised.

Although the beginning and the last part of the story were really excellent, the middle was just ok. Ultimately, this was an enjoyable, funny and heartwarming story, filled with a perfect blend of emotions and sexy romance.

I really had trouble getting into the book initially and getting caught up in the emotions of the characters. The storyline was good, but it just didn’t stand out in my mind amongst other books in the genre. The blurb was great, but overall the book just fell flat for me.

I've read a few of Kate Meader's novels and I think this is my favorite one to date. The characters had a nice balance of funny and romantic. There was plenty of chemistry and swoon between them and a good mix of plot and background with several other characters to keep it interesting and curious about what would be happening next with all of them.
Definitely a fun hockey romance that I'd recommend while you're enjoying the season.

Teenage lovers are reunited as adults years later in Kate Meader’s So Over You and the result is combative, explosive, revealing, and sexy as hell. I love when characters have history are forced together again and even more so when it is obvious that despite years apart there is something between them neither one can forget or deny.

For the past two years Isobel Chase’s life has been turned upside down repeatedly; thirty-seven minutes into her first came as a pro player in the National Women’s Hockey League a freak accident cost her an hope of playing professionally again, her father’s death forced her to deal with the older half-sister who can’t stand her and a younger half-sister she didn’t know she had, the terms of his will forced her to quit her minor league coaching job, and the icing on the cake the team she now co-owns with her sisters has just acquired Vadim Petrov, the man who took her virginity years ago and then her father made sure his career in the NHL was put on hold indefinitely and she has been tasked with coaching him to get him back on the roster following an injury.

I enjoyed the complexity of this story (as well as that of the first book in this series), there are no easy answers for these two and unfortunately for Isobel if she gets involved with Vadim again, any career hadn’t aspirations of being a full time coach for the Chicago Rebels will be out of the question. Isobel was so stoic at times it made my heart hurt, the expectations her father thrust on her to carry on the family name as a hockey star and her subsequent fall from grace due to her injury weighed heavily on her as evident by her father’s voice she often heard in her head. Add in Vad’s animosity towards her and the pressure of needing the team to make it to the playoffs add in the fact that she still come to terms with the loss of her hockey career and Isobel’s stress level was off the charts. I enjoyed watching Vadim’s cold exterior melt little by little as he worked to prove to Isobel that he was improved man on many levels and as he confronted his past thanks to some help from his younger sister.

The premise of this series makes for interesting reading and some revelations during this makes me excited about what is to come next. A strong heroine with something to prove, a brooding hero determined to win his spot on the team and the woman of his dreams, made So Over You highly entertaining, wonderfully touching, and as always from this author completely sexy!

Book two in Kate Meader's Chicago Rebels series, So Over you finds Isobel Chase dealing with her father's legacy, his floundering hockey franchise, while coming to terms with her tragically prematurely ended promising hockey career. Vadim Petrov has risen to hockey super stardom and not even a knee injury can hold him down. When Vadim finds himself traded to the Chicago Rebels he and Isobel are forced to deal with their unfinished past and the feelings they can no longer ignore for each other.

Kate Meader not only writes great characters she gets them. As she roots out Isobel and Vadim's deepest darkest secrets, fallible suddenly becomes the new "it" character trait. Reading this writer it is hard not to get caught up in her work as her leads encounter herculean moments of exasperation yet somehow find their way to resolution often with the help of some serious sexual tension. Finding love is often a complicated messy affair but this author narrows it down to the simple raw truth with humor, kindness and just the right amount of tragic moments in So Over You. Isobel and Vadim's past history makes their interactions intricate giving this story a substantial foundation coupled with lots of unexpected plot twist handled expertly by this author. With a gift for capturing her readers attention with her exceptionally insightful portrayals Ms. Meader brings a unique take to romance. Between her wonderful writing and approachable stories there is just no one quite like Kate Meader!

This is the second Kate Meader book that took me by surprise, snuck up on me and had me really liking it. And they're in the same series! How about that! When I started it, I wasn't sure I was going to like it. I mapped out in my head how the storyline was going to play out and I wasn't thrilled with my map... BUT Meader threw me for a loop and took the story in a different direction. I was sucked in and I really, really enjoyed it.

Hockey fans should enjoy this installment very much. Lots of ice time!

Sexy, surly, domineering and overprotective alpha males are my new catnip, especially ones with a delectable Russian accent. So Over You is such a delightfully swoony read with a great balance between heat, drama, and romance.

Harper was not the only Chase sister who tried and failed to prove herself to her hockey super star father. Middle daughter Isobel, was the son their father never had. The one who’d continue his legacy, but thirty-seven minutes into her first NWHL game a devastating injury ruined her dreams. There’s always plan B. She can still get a coaching job with her late father’s hockey team, she just has to prove herself. The only problem is that the man she needs to train is the one she long ago threw herself at as an infatuated teenager and right after they did the deed, her father banished him to the other side of the world.

He should hate her. She’s the reason why his NHL career took too many turns to reach. Many years have passed since Vadim had chased after Isobel though, and the Czar a Pleasure wants for nothing. He has fame, fortune, women who fawn over him. But a knee injury has led him straight into to the hands of Isobel Chase, co-owner of his new team the Chicago Rebels, his personal coach for the foreseeable future, and the only woman he’s ever loved. Can he convince to give them a second chance?

Sparks fly and the fun starts as soon as Vadim and Isobel reconnect. The attraction between the two is undeniable but it’s their initial reluctance to admit it that hooked me and the fact that Vadim is itching to rectify the fact that he failed in his manly duties to satisfy Isobel his one time with her all those years ago. I loved the push and pull between Vadim and Isobel, with his domineering personality and her very assertive one, they were sure to create delicious friction. They both needed to work on their relationship skills, since neither had any experience in the arena but I was a big fan of the couple whose heart and souls were destined to be together.

One of the things that made me smile with each page was Vadim’s laser focus on Isobel and his brooding, dominant, Russian ways. It was both infuriating to her and completely endearing, and comical as all get out. He just couldn’t help himself and it’s obvious it comes from his deep love for Isobel and it makes his alpha maleness sizzling and swoony.

Isobel is not just a talented athlete, she’s a powerful franchise owner but you would never know if from getting to know her. She never abuses her influence nor shoves her athletic credentials in your face. She’s just a normal, sometimes too stubborn for her own good, woman wanting to find her place with her sisters, career and man. I really enjoyed the banter and growing friendship between the sisters.

So Over You is book #2 of the Chicago Rebels series by Kate Meader. It is a standalone contemporary hockey romance. It is also a second chance romance with a fast pace told from both points of view and has a happy ending.

A powerful hockey team in the making! With the 2nd book in her Chicago Rebels hockey series, Kate Meader continues to bring us the story of three estranged sisters who have come together to take over the hockey team their father owned after his death. Each sister had her own issues to deal with regarding their father, and watching the fireworks surround them as they feel their way through being a family and trying to keep a sinking team afloat makes for a desirable read. Throw in a few sexy hockey studs and it’s even better! The brotherhood that is starting to build between this team is fun to watch and the chemistry off the ice is becoming explosive! Looking forward to more!

Isobel Chase had her small taste of hockey glory before it all came falling down around her in a career ending injury. Left to pick up the pieces of a life she had devoted to one thing and one thing only, she has her heart set on coaching the team she’s part owner of. While she waits to earn her dues, she finds herself being tasked with the job of working one on one with their latest acquisition … who just so happens to be her old teenage beau who tried to rock her world, but unknowingly failed!

Vadim Petrov is less than thrilled to find out that he’s going to be working with the woman who tied him up in knots all those years ago and then hung him out to dry. He just wants to recover from this knee injury that has had him sidelined and get on with playing the game, but when the word on the street is that he failed to please a woman, he will not stand for that! Bella might as well get it through her head right now … he wants a do-over!

I have to say that this series by Meader has to be my favorite. I just love these guys. The girls too, just not as much. Read the series and you'll get where I'm coming from. You learn about the sisters and their relationship in the first book so when you get into this one you already know that at times it's very toxic between them. All this is the fault of there father. But of course he's not around and he's making sure to mess with them from the beyond.

A real asshole. Sad that we can't pick our parents. So as much as we know Isobel from the prior book we learn so much more in this one. So Over You is a very layered story that in a way isn't really done yet. They have one more sister to go.

You only get a idea of Vadim from book one and in this one you learn so much. I really enjoyed how they learned to break down their past and see it for what it was and move on. It wasn't easy for either of them but they handled it.

Poor Isobel learn to let go some of the hurt and pain she held inside about her father and her past with Vadim. For me this book was very up and down emotionally. I really loved it. I can't wait for Violet's story. I noticed it's not next but since I want Dante's story I don't mind waiting.

I have a confession to make, from the way this one started, I wasn't sure I was going to like our hero. Vadim didn't make a great first impression, but the more time I spent with him, the more I understood why Isobel fell for him both as a teenager and as an adult.
In this second book of the series, Ms. Meader returns us to the world of the Chicago Rebels with middle sister Isobel's story of a second chance at love. Having read the series from the very beginning (Ford and Addison's novella) it was easy to slip into Isobel's story and I found her incredibly easy to relate to.
Isobel and Vadim don't have an easy road to love. They both come with loads of parental baggage, they have their own romantic history to deal with, and the complication of Isobel being Vadim's coach and part owner of the team. Watching them navigate the troubled waters was actually really sweet and Vadim ends up being a hero that you can't help but fall a little bit in love with right along with Isobel.
Well written and fun, So Over You is technically a stand alone, but I would recommend reading the series in order as there is back story in Harper's story that is impactful to the story line here, especially in regards to Isobel's relationship with her sisters (key secondary characters). I am definitely looking forward to seeing where Ms. Meader takes us next in the Rebel's story!

So Over You by Kate Meader is the second book in the Chicago Rebels series. This series is based around three estranged sisters, one hockey team, and one mission. To keep the hockey team, they must first save it.

This is Isobel Chase's story.

Isobel Chase is the most athletic of the three sisters. She once lived the hockey dream and even made it to the Olympics to win silver but after a horrible accident on the ice, Isobel was forced to hang her skates up or suffer the consequences of death, that one blow could bring her.

As the saying goes, those who can't do, coach.

Now Isobel is looking to gain a coaching position. But things aren't about to come easy, before she gets the job, she must first rehab and coach a broody Vadim Petrov. One small problem, Vadim and Isobel have a past.

Isobel and Vadim's story is filled with sexual tension and a few hilarious moments. I really enjoyed their connection in the beginning of the novel. One thing I wish was added a bit more would be more of the back story surrounding around Vadim and Isobel's past.

I loved Vadim's moodiness and his tenacity and stubbornness. The same goes for Isobel. these two characters are very similar. They both have the same drive when it comes to their dreams and the willingness to do whatever they can to accomplish their goals. When two people have the same drive and the same eagerness, Wires are bound to get crossed and connections are going to either get strong or completely dissipate. This was an interesting read.

Now onto the hockey portion of the novel. The first novel had a lot of game time in the pages. This novel however, there is more one on one ice time and not so much actual game play. THat is understandable due to the fact that Vadim is in the process of rehabilitating his knee. I was a little bummed. I loved the adrenaline from the previous book, I loved getting wrapped up in the hockey aspect. That is the only reason why I had to drop a star. I wanted more hockey.

Overall, I really enjoyed So Over You by Kate Meader.

4 stars. This was a good book! This is a second-chance love story for Isobel and Vadim. Isobel is the middle sister of the Chase sisters. She and her sisters recently inherited the Chicago Rebels professional hockey team. Isobel was raised by her father as a hockey prodigy until an injury ended her career. Vadim is a Russian hockey star. Years ago, at eighteen, Isobel and Vadim met at a hockey training program. They had a romance that was ended when Isobel's father caught them in bed and chased Vadim out of the house naked, and subsequently out of the country, to keep him from interfering with Isobel's career ambitions. Now, Vadim has been traded to the Rebels and Isobel has been assigned the job of getting him back in shape after an injury. The two both have resentment for each other because of the way things ended between them, but they are able to work things out. They both still care about each other, but both have reservations against getting involved. Isobel wants to prove herself as a coach with the hopes of one day taking over the head coach position for the Rebels and she feels the conflict of interest greatly. Still, the couple realizes they are meant to be together, is able to work things out between them, and get their careers in order.

I really liked this book. I think it is my favorite of the series so far. I really liked Isobel and Vadim. They were strong, mature characters. They both had a lot of past baggage to get over but it all worked out the way it was supposed to. Isobel was easy to relate to with her insecurities and in trying to figure out where she belongs in her career and family. Vadim had a reputation of being a womanizer in the tabloids but it isn't true. He is actually a strong silent type, loner. He had really cared about Isobel when they were younger and continued to care about her throughout the years from afar. It was very sweet the way he had secretly loved her all along. The two made a really good couple. Being together made them both stronger, better people. I definitely felt their connection. They were sexy and sweet together. I really enjoyed seeing their relationship develop. I also enjoyed the series arc as the sisters steer the Rebels into the playoffs.

Overall, I enjoyed Isobel and Vadim's journey to love! I look forward to more from the series and to the final Chase sister, Violet's book!

Isobel Chase was going places in the National Women's Hockey League until a horrible accident ended her career. Now though, she's determined to help her sisters lead the Chicago Rebels to the playoffs, even if it means giving extra coaching sessions to Vadim Petrov to whip him back into tip-top shape after his injury and bad season that ended with him being traded to a team in trouble. Will Vadim be able to win both the girl and help his new team get to where they need to be in the standings, or will one wrong move cause Isobel and Vadim to go their separate ways?

Having absolutely loved the first book of this series where Isobel was reunited with her two estranged sisters, I couldn't wait to dive into this book and it was everything I'd hoped for and more. Not only because it encompasses two incredible main characters that have powerful chemistry and are very deserving of their second chance at forever after; but because it had such compelling dialogue that was the perfect combination of intense moments due to the main characters back stories as well as past history and teasing banter that had me loving this couple's growing relationship, as they find their way back to each other despite the rocky start they have when they first come face-to-face.

The way this story started with the prologue sets the fast-pace of this story, as it had me sympathizing with what the heroine goes through and had me wanting to know what sort of effect what happened to Isobel had on her. How bad was her injury? However, it was from the moment the hero and heroine came face-to-face for the first time that made this story very intriguing, as this couple have a past that makes Vadim surly towards Isobel because of all that went wrong between them. Will Isobel be able to make things right with Vadim, so she can work with him without too much awkwardness?

As for the heroine, she's resilient and courageous with everything she's been through and I could understand why she was so stubborn when it came to her career goals and not wanting things to be over when things could be dangerous for her if she ever played professionally again. I also liked how she handled everything thrown at her and that the hero did everything he could to protect her honor. Yet, what I liked most of all about the heroine is the growing relationship she had with her sisters and that Harper and Violet weren't afraid to say whatever was on their minds to her, especially when it came to her relationship with Vadim.

While the hero, he has abandonment issues because of his mother and I could understand why he's not over it, even though the woman in question is back in his life. Will he ever learn the truth of why she left? Moreover, the hero is a great brother, which is proven by what he did for his sister that brought them together. I also liked his confidence when it came to his abilities as an ice hockey player and when it came to the heroine. How could she possibly say no to him? Yet, what I liked most of all about the hero was how protective he was of the heroine, even if it means protecting her from herself.

Overall, Ms. Meader has delivered an outstanding read in this book where the chemistry between this couple was wonderful; the romance nicely-detailed and sizzling; and the ending had me liking how the secondary characters encouraged the heroine to make things right with Vadim after how things go awry between them. Why does Isobel have to be so stubborn? However, it was the epilogue that wrapped this story up perfectly, as Isobel might not have fulfilled her dream of winning the elusive gold, but she certainly got the best prize of all -- a second chance with her Mr. Right. I would recommend So Over You by Kate Meader, if you enjoy second chance romances or books by authors Kimberly Kincaid, Kelly Jamieson, Lia Riley and Sawyer Bennett.
