Kill Shot is another riveting suspense novel by Susan Sleeman. The action starts on the first page and never lets up. It kept me guessing and reading to the end. The main characters, FBI task force member Rick Cannon and Olivia Dobbs, a psychologist who treats PTSD patients, complement each other well and are engaging and multi-layered. The other members of the White Knights are also interesting, and I’m anxious to hear their stories.

I’m always amazed at the technical detail Susan Sleeman includes in her books. She obviously does much research about her subjects to get them as correct and plausible as possible.

Kill Shot is the second book in Ms. Sleeman’s White Knights series. It can be read as a standalone story but some of the characters carry over from book one, so it’s a little more enjoyable if you read them in order. I’d recommend this to those who enjoy suspense, intrigue, and romance with some faith elements.

I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy from the publisher/NetGalley. All opinions are my own.

Susan Sleeman writes gripping romantic suspense on the cutting edge. I wish I could say this story, Kill Shot, by Sleeman is entirely impossible. Yet just the other day an army mom told myself and others about a gun that only has to be sighted to hit its target.

Our reading trauma starts when Dr. Olivia Dobbs, a psychotherapist, witnesses the murder of her PTSD client Ace. Rick, the White Knights ballistic expert, is lead on this case in his former home city of Atlanta.

Sleeman's novels are always full of fast-paced action, tension, and romance. The subject of a stolen shipment of "smart-bullets" moves her fiction from romantic suspense into the "thriller" category for me. What a ride!

I received a copy of this book from the author. This in no way affected my opinions, which are solely my own, voluntarily submitted.

Kill Shot by Susan Sleeman is a FBI thriller. When FBI agents are called into a case due to dangerous new smart technology, agent Cannon is called back to his hometown of Atlanta, Georgia. Here he meets eyewitness Dr Olivia Dobbs who makes him confront his estrangement from his family. He really enjoyed the beginning of this book. It was full of action and interesting characters. Later on, the book really began to drag and I felt that it did not deliver as I had expected. I received a digital copy from the publisher. These opinions are my own.

This exciting thriller will grab readers’ interest as they join the search for a deadly sniper. Some of Psychologist Olivia Dobbs’ clients seem to be targeted—they just happen to be veterans. What else could they have in common, and why would anyone want to kill them? Now her life is also in danger. A special FBI team has been called in, but can they trust her or could she be in on the plot? There’s more at stake than meets the eye. Susan Sleeman knows how to pen a book with deadly aim. It will zero in on readers’ attention and keep their adrenaline racing until the last page.

Kill Shot is the second book in the White Knight series by Susan Sleeman, but it can be read as a stand alone novel. FBI special agent Nick Cannon is called into investigate the shooting of a homeless man that took place in front of his therapist, Olivia Dobbs. On the surface, the involvement of the FBI in such a case seems overkill, but the case is much more complex. The bullet involved the shooting was a smart bullet that was stolen from a defense contractor lab and now the race is on to find both the killer and the rest of the stolen smart bullets. As the death toll rises, the victims were all patients of therapist Olivia Dobbs. What she behind these deaths? Delve into the investigation led by Nick Cannon and the rest of the White Knights in this fast paced cop thriller.

I am reviewing a copy of Kill Shot through Faithworks and Netgalley:

A killer with a deadly new weapon, a smart bullet.

The kind of fear that can haunt you forever, especially if you are a member of the White Knight's experts of the FBI's special task force. Rick Cannon has known the department of defense was developing a self steering bullet a smart bullet, a bullet that can turn a novice into a lethal sniper!

And now the smart bullets have fallen into the hands of a murderer!

A homeless vet is killed with this new technology, leaving Rick Cannon to wonder how many more murders until these so called Smart bullets are taken off the street, these bullets with their 100 percent accuracy.

It is not only the White Knight's hunting for whoever took the Smart Bullets, Therapist Olivia Dobbs finds one of her clients right after they are murdered so she fast becomes not only a witness but a suspect as well.

Rick Cannon has an immediate attraction with Olivia Dobbs but he won't let that interfere with his investigation , but soon the sniper trains his rifle on her, Rick must remember what he learned as a Marine sniper to save Olivia? Will he be able to do it?

I give Kill Shot five out of five stars!

Happy Reading!

This was such a good book. Sleeman had me on the edge of my seat and I had no clue what would happen next. Unraveling the tangled web of murders and thefts kept me turning page after page until I was up too late. Kill Shot is the second book in the White Knights Series. I knew after reading the first book that I had to read them all. I love getting to know the White Knights more, and can’t wait to see who’s in the next book. The White Knights are a group of teammates that specialize in the tough cases. In this book they are brought in to find out who stole a top secret weapon, and to do so before more people are killed with it.

Rick is the ballistics expert, and what he’s seeing is a nightmare come true. Self steering sniper bullets can make anyone an expert marksman. If this technology gets into the wrong hands it could mean the end of nations. The first victim was a veteran, which shows that the killer isn’t all that patriotic. The team must race against time to stop this crime spree before it’s too late. Olivia gets under Ricks skin, and he doesn’t want that to happen. Not only is he not ready for a relationship, but the timing couldn’t be worse. Is she connected to the killer? Is she now a target because of those connections?

I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys romantic suspense. There was just the right amount of each in this book, and I couldn’t put it down. I found myself questioning motives, and who could do such a thing. I received a copy of this book from FaithWords publishing and was in no way forced to post a review. All opinions expressed are my own.

Love the mystery, suspense and surprises found in this book. This is book two in the White Knights series. Even though it is a stand alone book, you miss some of the information on sub characters if you jump right into this one, but you can.

Rick Cannon is a tough former (if there really is such a thing) Marine. He is part of the elite White Knights crew. He likes to keep his personal life to himself and hide any feelings he may have from everyone, even if that mean he does not have many close friends.

Oliva Dobbs is a loving psychologist, even though she has issues with her family she must deal with, she is a great psychologist. When she suddenly becomes a suspect/target to a crime Rick must protect her, interrogate her and try not to fall in love with her.

If you enjoy FBI type suspenseful mysteries with added romance you will love this book. Sleeman is one of my favorite suspense romance writers.

Four stars....not quite as much of a favorite as the first in the series (which was a really good thriller), but still a solid story. The plot didn't allow for instant action, which made the story realistic but not as gripping. :) That changed at the halfway point, and the action was nonstop—I couldn't put it down.

I really enjoyed how the characters' occupations weren't just a word on a page; Rick really did use his sniper background and Olivia was a practicing psychologist. It added a nice touch of relevance to the story.

I didn't care for the situation where Olivia decides to stay alone overnight at Rick's house.

I'm definitely looking forward to the next book in the series!

This is a voluntary review of an advanced copy.

Wow! What an action filled romance, as we go through the book with Rick and Olivia. There are some twists and turns and lots and lots of emotional baggage that they must deal with along the way.

There is the main story of the stolen smart bullets, and several side stories that keep you involved and engrossed in the book! I just could not put it down, as I wanted to get to the conclusion and find out who was behind the killings.

I did suspect the mastermind behind the identity theft but the secondary gun sales was unexpected and glad for the twist on that story line!

I enjoyed the faith filled dialogue and encouragement and soul searching that Olivia and Rick went through. It was also nice to have a romance grow as the character spent time with each other and not have a physical relationship.

This is book 2 in the series but can easily be understood and read as a stand alone. I will have to look for book 1 in the series and see how Cal met his wife, and hope that there will be more books coming so we can see the rest of the group find someone to love. Great HEA!!

Kill Shot is a book in the White Knights series by Susan Sleeman. I can attest to the fact that it is very hard to put down. I stayed up till midnight last night to finish it on a work night! It is loaded with suspense, smart characters and a frightening storyline; self-steering bulllets. I don’t even want to know if they really exist.

Olivia is a psychologist who has focused on helping military personnel with PTSD. When one of her clients is murdered almost in front of her it starts a wicked chase to find the killer. The storyline is one fascinating puzzle as the author doling out clues one tantalizing morsel at a time. Olivia knows something is really bad when the FBI special team; White Knights is called in. Olivia is an enjoyable character dealing with her own struggles from her past and current family situation. Rick is a stoic character that the author was able to make likeable. He has some serious issues to overcome. The entire team is so talented and the author drops just enough information about them that you cannot wait for them to get their own book.
Sexual content - kissing, chemistry
Violence - snipers, self-steering bullets,

Susan Sleeman is an expert at putting readers in the center of an investigation and keeping them guessing until the end of the story.
In Kill Shot, book two of the White Knights series, weapons expert and former sniper Rick Cannon takes the lead on the investigation into stolen self-steering bullets, which gives anyone with a rifle a threat.
Olivia Dobbs witnessed someone standing over the body of one of her clients. She is the only one who can identify the killer the White Knights are hunting. As a psychologist to veterans with PTSD, Olivia understands more than others how the human mind works—and the cocky FBI agent who keeps turning up is a puzzle for her to solve.
High action, tension, and suspense playout like scenes from a movie, yet it’s the humanness of the characters—their doubts, their fears, their actions and reactions—that make Sleeman’s stories ones shouldn’t miss.

Ms Sleeman once again gives us a story that grabs you from the start. This is a Christian suspense romance, with the emphasis on the suspense.
The main characters are FBI weapons expert, Rick Cannon and Olivia Dobbs, a therapist specializing in vets with PTSD. Both are strong, independent individuals. The plot is engaging and it’s obvious that the author did extensive research on self-steering bullets. That alone was an education.
As others review the plot extensively, I will go a different route.
What I appreciated most was the author’s insightfulness in the fact that our experiences as children and how we are treated by the adults we trust will in fact affect who we become as adults. Those past experiences, hurts, lack of attention , feelings of worthlessness, are ingrained in our personalities. Invisible walls are built to protect ourselves, and only we can take them down , become happy, and lead a peaceful life.
I also appreciated the fact that Ms Sleeman highlights the recurrence of PTSD on the returning troops. We , as a society, need to do more to help those brave men and women who sacrifice their lives to keep us safe. A need also exist to support their families.
So, kudos to the author . I was gifted a copy of this book by Netgalley. The opinions expressed are solely my own.

Christian romantic suspense is one of my favourite genres, so I was lookng forward to reading Killl Shot by new-to-me author Susan Sleeman.

Unfortunately, I wasn't impressed.

This might be because I read Kill Shot right after If I Live by Terri Blackstock (which I've been anxiously anticipating for a year, and which more than met expectations) and Oath of Honor by Lynette Eason (a brilliant start to a new must-read series).

Or it might be for some other reason.

Whatever the reason, Kill Shot didn't grab me. It should have. It ticked all the boxes for Christian romantic suspense. But there was no zing, no wow! factor. It felt tired, same old. The plot was solid, but the writing didn't sparkle, which meant the romance was less than convincing. And what's a romantic suspense novel without a great romance?

Another thrill ride in the second book of the White Knights series.

Dr. Olivia Dobbs seems to have what it takes as a psychologist to deal with military PTSD, but not so much when it comes to her own family. When Olivia witnesses a crime that brings the FBI to investigate, she realizes that her clients may have been involved in a very deadly game. Agent Rick Cannon has had too many bad experiences with psychologists in the past to even consider being open to trust one again. Olivia may be the key witness to help Rick's team solve this case, but as more connections continue to lead back to Olivia she also becomes a prime suspect.

This was a great suspense with many twists and turns that keep you guessing. We see the main characters not only dealing with professional work related problems, but also being forced to face some of their own personal life issues as well. I also appreciate the strong emphasis of trusting in God instead of trying to do things on our own.

*I received an ARC of this book. All opinions are my own.

“Kill Shot” by Susan Sleeman was an action-packed romantic suspense-filled novel. This was the 2nd book in the White Knight series, but you don’t have to read the 1st book to understand what is happening. I haven’t read the 1st book yet.

I was amazed at how knowledgeable Susan Sleeman was with all the details in this FBI novel. When a client of Dr. Dodds is murdered by a sniper, the FBI gets called in on the case. Dr. Dodds ends up being a victim and suspect at the same time. It was very difficult to figure out who the murderer was. There are a few twists and turns along the way with a little bit of romance thrown in.

If you enjoy a good, clean romantic suspense book, then this book is for you. I received this book from the publisher through NetGalley for my honest opinion.

I did NOT want this book to end! All I can say is that the book is amazing! No surprise when the author is Susan Sleeman but her White Knight series just keeps get better! The attention to detail in Kill Shot is mind boggling! I can't imagine the research she did for this story! Page after page is just SO good and so realistic! A homeless military veteran gets shot and killed by a "smart" bullet that was part of stolen technology from a company developing the cutting edge technology and the FBI team called the "White Knights" is called in to quietly solve the case so word doesn't get out about this super secret technology that is out there "on the streets" somewhere in the hands of a ruthless killer. When the killings continue, the race is on to find the killer and get these bullets off the streets before they are sold to some foreign country or terrorist group. Rick is the lead on the case this time and he wants to catch the killer while shutting down his emotions because the scene of the crime is in Atlanta where he grew up and he is estranged from his family. The psychiatrist who was working with the homeless vet who was shot, and actually found his body, was Dr. Olivia Dodds and she must work with the FBI team to help find the killer because all the killing become related, plus the killer starts coming after her! She starts to "analyze" Rick about his estrangement to his family, which he doesn't like but she has big family issues of her own. Like I said, a FANTASTIC book and one I couldn't put down! The twists and turns and suspense leave you wanting to find out how everything will turn out so you have to read faster! Ms. Sleeman is a master at this genre and I highly recommend this book!

As the ballistics and weapon's expert for the FBI's special task force nicknamed the White Knights, Rick Cannon has known the Department of Defense was developing self-steering bullets. Rick feared these smart bullets--which have one hundred percent accuracy that can turn even a novice into a lethal sniper--would eventually end up in the hands of the wrong people. But since the ammunition was still in the development stage, he figured they had plenty of time before that happened. He was wrong. Dead wrong.

Until they become reality.

When a homeless vet is killed with a smart bullet, it's clear that the ammunition has been stolen, and the Knights are called in to find the thief and stop the killings. But they aren't the only ones desperate to find the killer. Therapist Olivia Dobbs is well known for her success in counseling military veterans with PTSD. When she discovers one of her clients moments after he is murdered, she becomes both the FBI's prime witness, and suspect.

Despite the mutual attraction that immediately sparks between them, Rick can't--no he won't--let Olivia interfere with his investigation. But when the sniper trains his rifle on her, Rick must recall all the skills he learned as a Marine sniper to make sure the next bullet fired isn't a kill shot that takes Olivia out.

What a great book. There were twist and turns everywhere. I had a lot of trouble putting it down. I enjoyed it so much that I bought the first book in the series. I didn't feel it was necessary to read the first book to understand the second book. I just wanted to read it as Kill Shot was such a good book. I look forward to reading more books by Susan Sleeman.

I was given this book by Net Galley in exchange for an honest review. I was not compensated in any way.
