I am so happy that this book came about. I have to admit after falling hard for Lost Rider and then feeling a little disappointed in Kiss My Boots I was really worried about how Cowboy Up would go for me. I can't say it was the same for me as Lost Rider but Cowboy up was a total five star read for me and hear are just a few reasons why:

1. I read this entire book in an afternoon.
2. Clay, uhm...swoon
3. ROMANCE!!
4. Caroline, such a sweet heart!
5. Luke and Lucy.
6. Maverick!!!!

So yea, this was totally a couldn't put it down book for me. I sat down on a quiet day in teh late morning and had finished the book by mid-afternoon, I could not walk away from it. I loved the suspense aspect, I swooned over the relationship between the two main characters, and I adored the brother and sister bond between the Davis family. I'd say that Clay is every cowgirls dream but that would be a lie, Clay is EVERY girl's (and a few guys, I am sure) dream. He is dedicated to his family, he is compassionate, he is hard working, he is driven, he is passionate with a capital P...basically Clay Davis is smoking hot in all ways!

The romance is Cowboy Up is beyond swoon-worthy and I loved the mature aspect to it. Are there some anxiety inducing issues, sure, but in general it was wonderful having a couple old enough to be past playing games with each other, to put it all out there on the table. Clay Davis is a good guy, a really good guy, but he's got bad boy streak to him and it comes out in the best place of all...the bedroom. *fans face*

Caroline, man she is such a sweetheart and for a woman who has gone through what she did it is amazing but completely believable that she kept that sweetness around her. She is an amazingly strong character, coming back from a terrible situation and making the life she wanted for her self on her own. I loved her sweetness, he determination, her drive...she was truly the perfect compliment to Clay. I loved the the could tuck that sweetness away and be a 'dragon' when she needed to. She got 'run over' in life once and no one will do that to her again, if she doesn't make you proud while you read this book then we need an intervention!

Let's talk#5 Luke and Lucy....Harper Sloan, I need these two to have their own books. I need a spin off and these two need to be the Heroes! I want more of this world and I feel like you gave me a little taste of what more would be like so I am begging you to not let it end here. I think Luke and Lucy could take this little world and stand it on it's head and be just the most fun books to read. These two are secondary characters that really shine and deserve to be the main character in their own book. Okay Harper, I'll stop...harping (like you'e never heard that one before right *rolls eyes at myself*) on it and let you get to work, writing books for Luke and Lucy. *grins*

And finally #6....MAVERICK. Really do I need to say much more? It was so wonderful to see him again, to see how he has continued to evolve, to see how his relationships have grown, to see the man he has become that he was always meant to be. He will always be my first love in this book series so getting as much of him as we did in this book made my heart soar!

If you love contemporary romances that are truly heartfelt and full of beautiful relationships do not hesitate to pick up this series. Can you read this as a standalone, I'dsay Cowboy Up less so than Kiss My Boots, but technically yes you could. Some things will get a tad bit spoiled for you by reading out of order but we all know these are HEA's so you aren't going to ruin any huge surprise factor, just one of the little elements that might be nice to discover individually in each book. Regardless of how you read them you will want to read the entire series, trust me. I could seriously gush about these books for days but instead I am just going to leave you with a buy this book and...

I have been impatiently waiting for this book since the beginning and let me tell you, it lives up to each and every one of my wishes!! I knew Clay would be the one to rock my world and he did not disappoint! I loved every minute of this book and it has become one of my top re-reads.

Clay didn't think love and marriage was something that he would have, he was resigned to being alone and running the ranch. The last thing he expected was to fall for his recent one night stand. He didn't know if he would ever see her again, but he knew she was special and if ever given the chance, he was going to make her his.

Caroline just got out of a horrible relationship and wasn't looking for her white knight. But she was looking for someone to help her live again and make her feel like a woman. When she spends the most wonderful night of her life with a sexy stranger, she knows she will never be the same. Since she didn't know who he was, she knew she would probably never see him again.

When the stars (or baby showers) align and she literally runs into Clay, she can't believe her luck. He makes her feel safe and loved for the first time in her life. Now that Clay has the woman who has haunted his dreams back in his arms, he is never letting go.

I honestly could not put this book down. I loved every single word and I still want more. This book is probably my favorite in this series. Clay and Caroline were truly made for each other. He is the bad to her good and has no problem giving her what she needs. If you are in the mood for a dirty talkin' cowboy, make sure you pick up your copy of this book today. I PROMISE you will not be disappointed! Great job Harper! I can only hope that we get a check-in from these two at some point in time!

HOLY WOW. Clayton really stepped up and surprised me in Cowboy Up. His character was able to shine in this book, showing he had really been suppressed in the previous two. While I thought the drama for the couple was a bit over the top at times, I really liked the way the two characters were a team and faced things together. The emotions in their relationship sprang to life and were really felt throughout the book. I felt this was a fitting ending to this trilogy, and overall I really enjoyed the series.

I love a good cowboy story! I don't know what it is about cowboys but they make me smile...

This book is very well written, the story is engaging, the couple is terribly hot and super cowboy way.

Clayton and Caroline have their stories connected from several years, since she was one of his sister's friends from school. However, she drifted apart from her hometown and got herself involved in an abusive relationship. He is the older brother and responsible for his siblings, they had a rough life and now they are finding their way as a family, but Clayton has never had a really serious relationship with a woman until now...

This is the third book of a series, but can be read as a stand alone. I will look for the other books, because this one is really good and I want to know more about this cowboy family!

I love this author. And I love the dirty talking heroes she creates.
I enjoyed Clay and Caroline's book. They were a pretty cute couple together. Clay was a dirty talking alpha cowboy, and Caroline was your average innocent pretty girl who had a crush on the hero during high school.

OMFG MY HEART IS BROKEN NOW THAT THIS SERIES IS OVER.

Harper Sloan is fantastic as always. This series was out of this world kinda fantastic. These characters and side characters just become ppl you adore and wanna get more and more of. This ending was bitter sweet.
Hands Down Favourite book in the series....

So if you have read this series you know this book is about the eldest Brother Clayton. We have all fallen So madly and deeply inlove with him. He is exactly what we all need as a Bigger Brother.
Clayton really stole my heart with how caring and giving he was. When it comes to his family he has been dealt many blows but his siblings and him have such an amazing bond.
I loved seeing that Unselfish and Beautiful Brotherly Love from his POV. Watching him fall was like Heaven really. Cos I feel nobody deserved it more than him.

Caroline was no doubt the best Girl for Clayton. She was just what he needed and what he deserved. Loyal, shy, quiet and Loving. Not a doormat or someone you could walk over. Yet because of her past she was abit broken, watching her heal and fight and move on was inspiring.

Watching their chemistry and then that change into feelings, feelings turn into love, it was electrifying and mesmerising. They together cast a spell on you from page one and you can't leave this book for a second.
Their dialogue and banter with each other or with side characters will have you Gigglingly most times or wanting to throttle but what Won't happen is you being bored. Nothing is dragged out and there is absolutely no games played. I Fucking love that.
I was in awe of how their love and care healed each other. I smiled big and swooned hard when they Protected and cared for each other. I also blushed like a school girl when these two got Hot and heavy. Let me tell you about how you will need a Fan and a change of clean underwear. Cos these Two set the screens on fire.

Everything about this story and Writing is enthralled. This book hands down gets 5+ Stars.

Ohhhh and the Epilogue was out of this world.
Enjoy this ladies.!!!!

This is my first review in 2018 and I must say that it started on a sweet note. Cowboy Up is the third installment in the Coming home series and it follows Clayton, the third and eldest sibling to Quinn and Maverick. We get small doses of Clayton throughout the series and I was intrigued with his character, so I jumped out of my boots when this book was released. Clayton is portrayed as the head of the family, loves to maintain control, and broody, but here comes timid Caroline and she makes him lose all of his control. When poor Caroline falls on hard times, Clayton and his large…cowboy boots comes to the rescue and one of the most sappiest couples that I have ever seen or read happens and flourish.

Now I absolutely loved Clayton and his cowboy mannerisms and he most definitely made me swoon. ;) He developed as a character and I loved him with Caroline and his cute nickname for her. Their chemistry was off the charts and the sex was hotter. Caroline started off as a timid, scared girl ready to crawl back into her shell, but throughout the book, she continued to grow and I really dug it. This book kept me entertained and it made me chuckle as well. The cowboy metaphors used in this book was funny. I am not sure if the author did this on purpose, but it was hilarious.

The down turn of this story is the sappiness and the over cheesiness of the dialogue and monologue. For someone as closed off as Clayton, he sure did pour on the sappiness real heavy like. I had to skip some of it because it was so cheesy and repetitive

Other than the sappiness of the cowboy, the book was solid and I couldn't have asked for a better conclusion for a great series. Pick this one up for sure.

Cowboy Up, by Harper Sloan is an emotional and dramatic contemporary romance, and it's the third book in the Coming Home series.

Caroline Michaels is a delightfully quirky bookshop owner with two highly entertaining best friends. One evening, she steps outside her normally quiet and shy comfort zone, as she pursues a one-night stand with a stranger.

A few months later, Caroline encounters her one-night stand at a local party, and she discovers that he's actually Clayton Davis, a childhood acquaintance and her former childhood crush. After their re-acquaintance, Caroline and Clayton continue their romantic relationship in an emotional and dramatic fashion.

The story is focused on family and relationships with drama and suspense intermixed, as well as a primary emphasis on the secondary characters of Caroline's best friends and Clayton's family. Due to the extensive secondary characters, it's recommended to start with the first book in the Coming Home series, yet it's not necessary to read the books in order.

Cowboy Up is geared towards those who enjoy reading contemporary romances.

It's probably my bad that I keep on jumping in mid series why I have a hard time getting into it. I do like cowboy and ranch settings and the author's other stuff so I gave it a shot. This may not be completely standalone I realize early in, perhaps interconnected. I'm kind of lost at the start, a bit confused on Caroline and her whole issue from before. I'm not sure if these characters were established beforehand if anything but I felt lost. Then the sudden insta lust one night stand, screamed stranger danger to me but I guess worked for them.

Mystery guy turns out to be an old friend's brother. That she knows but doesn't seem to recognize at the time. When they meet again some spark of sorts makes it known to them both. It's something like lots of chemistry that makes Clayton realize he wants more. For them to take a chance on that if a relationship is worth exploring. Both have been burned before in different ways and for some reason they gravitate towards the other.

It took a while to get what's going on and became easier when I did it flowed ok. I just found the it hard to feel the connection between Caroline and Clayton the steam very much there but the other stuff

This is why I love Harper Sloan! This book was everything I'd hoped for and more.
After reading Maverick and Quinn's stories, I was eager for more of Clayton. You know from the other books that he is the most amazing big brother; caring, protective, driven, and wise. It was also easy to see that, while he supported his siblings and their relationships, he wasn't really someone who wanted that for himself. I couldn't wait to see who would come along and challenge his plan.
Caroline certainly knocked Clay on his rear. She was such a fantastic character. I've really loved all of the people in this series and Sloan keeps delivering with strong, multidimensional, evolving characters.
From almost the beginning we are set up for a bit of mystery. I felt this aspect, along with the tension and suspense it created, gave this book a different feel from the others in the series. I was enthralled and eager to see how things would play out and how far she would go with it.
In addition to the amazing characters and excitement surrounding the suspense, Sloan gives us a story packed full of emotion, laughs, and love. A story of healing and finding a life you never dreamed of. I loved every bit of it.

Cowboy Up is the third installment in the Coming Home series. I personally feel it has to be read in order to understand and appreciate each Davis story.

Cowboy Up is Clayton Davis’ story. He's the oldest Davis child and the most anti-relationship in the group. It's been a long time since he's thought about his own loneliness, but a one-night stand with an unknown woman has him questioning everything. He never planned on searching out the woman who gave him an amazing night of pleasure but if fate throws them together, he knows he can't walk away again.

Caroline hasn't been with anyone since she's gotten out of her abusive relationship. One night with a sexy cowboy has her feeling sexier than she thought possible and questioning her solitary life. Can the sexy cowboy bring out the bad in her?

This really was the perfect ending to this series. I loved seeing the sweet, sexy side of Clay, and him finding his happily ever after. I enjoyed seeing the progression of the relationships of Maverick and Leighton and Tate and Quinn. Ms. Harper's knack for writing the sexy alpha has expanded to the sexy cowboy. Cowboy Up is syrupy sweet and brought rounds of tears to my eyes. So worth the read!

Cowboy Up is the third instalment in the Coming Home series and gives us the story of Clayton, the oldest of the Davis siblings. Clayton is serious, focused only on work and his ranch. He has no desire for love and a family like his siblings, Quinn and Maverick. When Caroline enters his life, he starts to want things he never imaged he would. Shy Caroline starts to come out of her shell with the support of a strong man like Clay.

Caroline and Clay are a very sexy couple with great chemistry. But there is more to this story than their romance and relationship. Caroline and Clay each have a crazy ex, someone sets fire to Caroline's book shop and Caroline's nutcase of a mother all add trouble to their lives. On the plus side, the life they are building together is beautiful, and Quinn and Leighton (heroines from the previous books) are both pregnant and about to make Clay an uncle for the first time.

There was plenty going on in and around our couple’s lives, which kept me engaged with the story. The romance between good people who deserve something good together is heartwarming. The epilogue is lovely and an excellent end to the story of the Davis siblings.

Audiobook Review: 5+++ Stars

If you could sum up Cowboy Up in three words, what would they be?

Sexiest cowboy ever!!

What did you love best about this story?

I loved everything about Cowboy Up. I loved how Clayton and Caroline’s relationship developed. It felt so real and solid. I loved Caroline’s relationship with her best friends, they were very protective of her. I loved Clayton’s unconditional love for his brother and sister. I loved the drama in the story. And most of all, I loved the ending. It was perfect.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Clayton for sure. Reading him from his siblings’ POV showed a great brother but also a serious and private person. Reading him from his own POV was simply the best. He’s my favorite of the Davises. I’ve always thought that when you meet the right person, your life changes forever and that’s what happened to Clayton. Well, he was awesome before meeting Caroline, but Clayton in love is the perfect kind of book boyfriend for me. He was caring, romantic, strong, and sexy as hell. Can I have a Clayton for me, please?

What about Elizabeth Louise & Jason Carpenter’s performance did you like?

Jason Carpenter has the sexiest voice in the world. Period! And his performance as Clayton and the whole audiobook in general was pure perfection. I loved his accent, his inflections and most of all how sexy and he made sound my beloved Clayton. Elizabeth Louise’s narration was great too. She transmitted Caroline’s personality flawlessly. I could feel the character’s strength, passion and love in Elizabeth’s performance.

Any additional comments?

Cowboy Up was the perfect ending for the Coming Home Series. Harper Sloan saved the best Davis sibling for the end. The last chapter of the book was the kind of chapters I always want in books. It was seriously amazing.

100% recommended.

This was my favorite book of the series by far and the only reason it isn't getting five stars is because of the unrealistic dialogue. It was just too sickly sweet for me, but other than that this is a really solid romance. It's super sexy for one thing and the added element of suspense made this a well-rounded, entertaining read. I do love the bond that the Davis siblings have and thought it was really cohesive throughout the series. The epilogue was great and finished out the series nicely.

Fantastic book. What a great ending to this trilogy. This story focuses on Clay, the oldest sibling, and this is the one I have been waiting for the most. It was super sweet, hot to trot, and had suspense. It doesn't get better than that. The writing was amazing, I love revisiting old characters from other books in the trilogy. Highly recommend this book. Told in dual POV.

Harper Sloan has been a long time favorite author of mine. While I really enjoyed the first two books, Lost Rider and Kiss My Boots, they felt "tamer" than her past books. But Cowboy Up is now up there with my other favorites of hers from the past.

Clay is definitely the strong, alpha male of this family. With his younger siblings happily married, now he can focus on his own love life. Only he doesn't believe that's in store for himself. Caroline is the perfect match for him. These two are about as opposite as can be, and how does that saying go? Opposites attract.

Cowboy Up is without a doubt my favorite out of the Coming Home Series.

This Texas girl loves a good cowboy story… and when said cowboy story includes a HOT as HELL one like Clayton Davis, I am for sure all in! Cowboy Up is the latest installment in the Coming Home series by author Harper Sloan, and it felt like just that… coming home. At this point, I am fully invested in this series, in these characters, and in this small town world of ranches, horses, sexy cowboys, and the women who fall for them. With that said though, Cowboy Up can be read and enjoyed as a complete standalone just like its predecessors.

A sexy encounter that leads to more is always a winner, however, this sexy encounter is like no other… the mystery that surrounds their initial encounter is electric! Clayton and Caroline steam up the pages from the get go and it is a wild way to start but honestly, I’m not sure how else it would have worked. The chemistry between these two is crazy good. What starts off hot and heavy turns into a slow churning build towards an inevitable relationship. And once Caroline says she is in, Clayton is more than ready to make her his… the alpha, protective, and yes, possessive, man shines through

I enjoyed the push and pull of Clayton and Caroline’s story… the heavy moments, the sweet moments, and for sure the steamy moments. It is a story that you can’t help but fall for, even the Texas twang that rings throughout, grows on you by the end. A great installment to a great series!
