Back at the beach and it is fine!

There’s something about this author’s stories – the rich characters, the complicated situations, the humour, the love... All the elements come together into addictive morsels of reading goodness. I was hooked with the O’Brien Family series and Carolina Beach has become my new fascination...

Luci and Landon meet at a party where their courtship begins. Both are hiding things. Both are not looking, or expecting to find, a person they click with, are headlong attracted to, or discover they don’t want to leave... Their relationship was easy and difficult, hard and soft, and so easy to get lost in. I loved the main characters with their humour and drive, their basic human decency... Being surrounded by family and friends that were funny and ferocious, in turn, was icing on the cake.

If you have not read this author you are missing out on some of the best reads to hit my kindle. Ever...

I have to try this one again. I didn't connect right away and actually put it on the TBR shelf again. I wanted to connect and just found myself struggling with wanting to know more. Or maybe not really clicking with the situation as much as I typically want to. I will check it out again. Thank you for the opportunity to read and review.

Like the first book in the series, this was a fun read.

This time we meet Luci and Landon, they meet at a party that neither was too thrilled to attend, but they end up staying to spend time with each other. It’s days after that, they realized now they have to work together everyday. Talk about awkward, lol.

Anyway, now they have to work with this new reality, where they also have to work through their own troubles. I liked these two, I felt they were exactly what each other needed at the time. I also hated Luci’s ‘friend’, such a selfish character, I wanted to slap her silly.

All in all, an enjoyable read, with ups and downs and a bit of everything. Looking forward to reading the next in the series.

4.5 Stars!!

ARC kindly provided by publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Throughly enjoyed this book. Loved the chemistry and passion between Landon and Luci. Landon has been hurt in the past and it's hard for him to get over it but Luci has a way of helping him forget. Luci has been dealt a rough hand but Landon helps her leave her past behind, even if for a little while. Can these two break free from their pasts and find happiness in each other?

I really liked how this is set in both the city office setting as well as a beach, laid back setting. Also, loved being able to catch up with Trin and Callahan from the first book in the series, Inseverable. Hoping that there will be a 3rd book in the series to follow Becca and Hale. Really great read!

If you enjoyed Inseverable, the first book in Cecy Robson's Carolina Beach series, then you're going to love Eternal. This book was everything I loved about the first and then some, full of sweet romance, great characters, amusing situations and hot sex - a perfect pick me up! While you don't need to read this series in order I'm happy to recommend both books and if you are familiar with the series then you'll enjoy getting a chance to catch up with the previous couple Trinity and Callahan (Trinity is Landon's sister).

Landon has given up on the idea of love and romance after a disastrous marriage that ended in a bitter divorce. The last thing he wants is a new relationship so when his sister insists he goes to a friend's New Years Eve party he plans to have a few drinks and then head home as soon as possible. Those plans quickly change when he meets Luci though. Luci has bad taste in men (and friends!) so getting abandoned at a party where she doesn't know anyone is her worst nightmare. Luckily Landon comes to her rescue and she decides to throw caution to the wind and spend the night with a handsome stranger. That night turns into an incredible weekend but neither of them are at a point in their lives where they're ready for a new relationship so that was all it was ever supposed to be. Until Landon starts his first day in a new job and realises Luci is the office manager. Thrown together daily at work will they be able to resist the intense chemistry sparking between them?

This was such a fun book to read and wonderfully drama free for a contemporary romance. Don't get me wrong I love a bit of drama sometimes but it can get tiring fast when things are constantly thrown at a couple just to add tension to a story so I was glad that wasn't the case here. Both Landon and Luci have their issues thanks to events in their pasts but they're both fairly open about their feelings and willing to talk things out like adults. I liked how patient Landon was and the way he was willing to wait until Luci was ready to trust him before starting a relationship. It was also great to see Luci walk away from a toxic friendship that was hurting her, I've read far too many books that seem to justify a horrible relationship between two women so I appreciated Luci recognising that the friendship wasn't good for her and putting a stop to it. It wasn't the only friendship portrayed in the story either, she had much nicer friends and got on well with Landon's sister so this story definitely isn't about women hating on each other.

Landon and Luci had a brilliant relationship that started out fuelled by lust but grew stronger through mutual respect and friendship. It was easy to see what a strong bond they had and I enjoyed every minute of their courtship. I'm definitely looking forward to reading more in this series and as always Cecy Robson didn't disappoint with her wonderful story.

Life's been crazy this week. I had to push this book back because I knew when I start a Cecy Robson book I don't put it down. She sucks me in from the first page till the last. Oh my goodness Landon is everything you'd ever want in a hero. He's just broken enough with past betrayal that he's holding back mentally but physically and emotionally he grabbed hold of Luci from that first night. While he fought with his mind, his heart knew better. I connected with Luci a lot. My childhood was hard. I really felt so much for her situation. Landon didn't want to accept that what he felt for her in one weekend was more than he felt in years with his ex. It took time but his heart was truly melting and his mind caught up with his heart just in time.

I'd have never been able to finish this if he'd have pushed her away but while his mind was being unfair and stupid, his body, soul and heart never let Luci far from reach. He truly let out all of what he felt right when it counted the most.

What I loved was how these two really took a passionate start and began a beautiful friendship that blossoms into a soul deep love.

Cecy has a way with passion and sexual tension that ramps up your reading experience to a whole different level.

I loved every sexy second. I adored every laugh out moment. There's something I love about.. Laughing out loud when I am quietly reading a book and something funny just jumps right out and tickles me.
So many emotional moments made this a beautiful read. If I had to pick one downside it's that Cecy added some not so subtle political stabs that could have been left out. I get enough of that on the news and I read for pleasure, escape and the romance. But like the truly talented author that she is, even the bad adds to the beauty of the whole story. I'll never forget how I felt when Landon really accepted how he truly felt. I'll also never forget how much I cried when people stepped up to support Luci in her time of need. I really only wish I could gave seen a little rather into the future with some added little people. But I'm sure more is to come in Becca and Hale's story. I just really and scared that while they have been in love for years that they'll have been with other people and that's somehow something my heart can't take. Make it equal Cecy or make it none.. Or just don't bring it up.. I just want them to prove they really were faithful to their love.

Thank you for another wonderful story. Can't wait for more.

When Landon and Luci met at a New Year's Eve party, they never expected to meet their one. He because he was still getting over what his cheating ex-wife had done to him, and she because she had never let anyone into her life before. They spend two steamy, beautiful nights together and then walk away never expecting to see the other again. Until one day the new attorney at the law firm where she's the office manager, walks in and lo and behold it's Landon, the man Luci's still thinking of even though it's been weeks since they saw each other.

Landon has a savior complex, a hero complex if you will, it's why he was even with his ex-wife, and it's why Luci's determined to keep Landon at a distance when he first starts working at her law firm. Because she is most definitely a woman with baggage, a woman who could do with some rescuing, if she ever lets him in on her big secret. But, Landon's determined to at least be friends with Luci, and she's no match for his sweet charm. But, how will Landon react when he finds out her big secret? How will Luci react when he finds out? Will she believe he's only with her so he can save her from her baggage? Or will she let him love her? Will he ever allow himself to tell her how he feels, even though he had decided he'd never utter those words again to another woman.

I liked Eternal. Landon is a sweet, sexy, sometimes alpha man. Luci is sweet, too, but sometimes I wanted to shake her for her really stupid behavior. I felt for her, of course, but she acted really stupidly more than once, and put herself into danger all for someone who most certainly didn't deserve for her to even give them the time of day.

The only other thing I had a problem with in Eternal is that it was a little boring. Looking back on it, I realized that not a lot happened. There wasn't much going on other than Luci's sometimes stupid behavior and her keeping a big secret (which really wasn't a big thing at all) from Landon. I wished for something with a little more oomph, something a bit more exciting. Other than that, though, Eternal turned out to be a sweet, sexy romance. Landon and Luci had sexy chemistry and made for a sweet couple. And the hints about Becca and Hale had me really intrigued to read their story.

Eternal by Cecy Robson is a very enjoyable and entertaining read.
The writing is well done, the storyline easy to follow and I enjoyed watching Landon and Luci's relationship unfold.
This was one of those reads once you start you don't want to put down.

Another great read by the talented Cecy Robson.

In Eternal, Landon is still getting over a bad divorce and Luci is looking for a change. A chance meeting at a party leads to a weekend neither of the will ever forget. I thoroughly enjoyed this sweet romance. In fact, I read it in one sitting. It was so much fun to watch this couple fall in love. Their chemistry was off the charts. I will admit to having to warm up to Luci at first. She seemed a bit like a doormat, but she quickly got over that. I know I have found a new book boyfriend. I loved Landon. He really was the perfect guy. I was also happy to see there was a surprising lack of angst between the couple.

The other characters rounded out the story nicely. I loved Landon's family as well as the characters in the law office. I couldn't stop laughing at the scene in Luci's office after the big board meeting. That was too funny. This held up well as a stand alone. I am curious to go back and read the first book in the series. I also look forward to the next one. I hope it is Hade and Becca's book next! I definitely recommend this one!

Eternal is quite the story. It's second in the series and I have not read the first one. I had no problems reading it and following along. Landon has been through a horrible divorce and closed off. He is very wary about life now. However Luci has her own troubles. Her past isn't quite easy and simple and when these two stumble upon each other at a New Years Party, things are going to change for both of them.

It was a great story and I didn't want to put it down. I seriously enjoyed it.

There is just something about this Carolina Beach series that I can't get enough of. Right off the bat, I loved Luci and Landon. They were both unique characters who had some down their luck...well luck. I felt for both of them.

While the story was so simple, it was wonderfully written and I found myself thinking about the story when I wasn't reading it. Eternal was a "stay up well past bedtime to finish" kinda story. Plus, it's a standalone so you can jump right in. But I still suggest reading Inseverable.

It was a case of love at first sight with me and Eternal. The book cover drew my eye; I absolutely adored the colour scheme and title font, and the cover guy wasn’t too hard on the eye, either. I shamelessly admit I have a thing for guys with beards, haha. I was pleased to find myself immediately hooked to the story of Luci and Landon.

The story was super sweet, and Luci and Landon together made me go aww. I didn’t feel much for Luci at first because at first impression she seemed like a complete pushover, but I grew to love her as the story progressed. The situation with her mother was completely messed up, and I felt for her a lot. Landon is the star of the show for me. He was so easy to love, and he loved easily too. I was so sad to learn how his marriage ended, and at the same time I admired his courage to take a chance on love again with Luci. They were so good together. I love their strong chemistry and how easy their relationship was.

If I had to describe Eternal in one word, it’d be romantic. “Well, duh, Lisa! It’s a romance book, of course it’s going to be romantic!” Well, that too…but also, not really? The whole time I was reading it, it was like watching your favourite V-day movie. Eternal gave me the feels and a whole lot of butterfly flutters, and I love it.

Overall, Eternal is my first Cecy Robson book and it won’t be my last. Super excited to check out Trinity and Callahan’s book next! I’m also hoping that Becca and Hale will get their own book, I totally ship them together.

I'm thrilled to be reading another book, by the talented Cecy Robson, even though Cecy is a romance writer, don't expect her to write those light and airy, feel good books! Because that is not life! Cecy writes those, gritty, real life romances, that have you crying, in sympathy with the main characters, because they have gone through hell, and you were right there with them!

And never to shy away from tough subject, the author tackles abuse against men, and homeless family members, and drug abuse, in her new book Eternal. But for me, Eternal is by far, one of her best books she has ever written. It kept me gripped from the beginning, and had me in tears by the end.

Landon and Luci's character's were truly amazing, to be blunt, they felt like my friends, like they were real! But truly, I was invested in the story, from beginning to end, and even though I was heartbroken to say good-bye to their story, I hope we will hear much more about them in future books.

I give Eternal, 5 stars!

Both Luci and Landon were dragged to a New year’s Party by their friends who decided they needed to get out. Their hopes are for these two to get out of their miserable state and possibly meet someone new. They both have a baggages that they can’t seem to let go and this party will give them that jump start to their new beginnings.

I enjoyed Luci and Landon’s story. It’s about time they come out of their comfortable little holes and live their lives like they should. After what they have experienced; it’s definitely a well deserved HEA.

I thought long and hard on how I feel about Landon. He had a hero complex that was a bit much for my liking. He just tends to be attracted to women who needs saving. While I like my dose of a “knight and shining armor” hero, he has to be strong enough to want a woman who is also independent in her own way. Here’s my conflicted thought; I love that Landon is the saving kind of man. There‘s just something about a man who wants to take care of his woman…I love this trait very much. But some parts in this book focused too much on his “hero complex” and that was not attractive to me. In contrast, I did love his flirtatious ways, and I love that he gave her space when she asked for it. I swooned over his attempt to win Luci’s beart. So, as you can see. I’m all kinds of conflicted with how I feel about Landon. He’s not my favorite hero, but he is sweet overall.

I did however enjoyed the overall story. This novel had it’s classic Cecy novel which included funny characters, sexy scenes, and a very sweet love story. I’m excited to read more of her work.

An emotional rollercoaster of a return to Carolina Beach.
Both main characters have emotional baggage and turmoil to address and find comfort, friendship, love in each other.
A beautifully written story with angst, tears, laughter and joy intermingled throughout.
I look forward to the next story with anticipation.

"I know people...powerful people" "Oh my Gawd you're in the mafia??!!!!"
Luci- a strong young woman who comes from a difficult home life made something of herself but is still struggling with her past.
Landon- brother to Trin from book one in this series and is a bit of a Captain Save a Hoe, this comes back to bite him in the ass.

There are so many reasons to love this book, and so many reasons to rage at a certain character because they are dumber than a box of bricks at times. One of the many reasons I love this book is the familial relationships that are involved. Some of my favorite people are Trinity from book one, she's Landon's little sister who loves to meddle and be in everything, and his parents who are just so amazing int heir love for their children. They were so much fun and they were so down to earth that they because great anchors for their kids to help keep them from drowning in their pain.

As with so many of the books I read I went into this one simply because of the author, I love her works and just knew I needed to read this one as well. So I knew nothing about the synopsis or the characters and I just fell in love as the story unfolded. I kind of expected Becca's story to be honest and after the glimpses we got here I just know that when we finally do get it?? God it's going to slay me.

Landon had according to everyone done everything 'right' and still ended up being screwed over, and while he accepts that he has to move on, he's still a bit bitter about how things turned out. He goes to this New Year's Party because he promised his friends and his sister and he's planning to have one drink and dip, then his sister's family needs her and he has to step in to help and we just get one of the funniest scenes I've read in a while. I absolutely loved that we were back in Kiawah island, Cecy can write then heck out of a scene and just the description of it made it sound so amazing. The beach also played a big part in this novel just as it did in the first book.

This story that unfolds is fun, funny and at times dark and emotional. The book was very therapy positive even if the patient wasn't compliant. I loved that the book also owned the darker emotions and talked about taking the time needed to get them under control. While I personally didn't need some of the lessons within I certainly hope others realize that people have to want help for you to be able to save them. You can't make them want it.

One of my favorite scenes in the novel comes after Landon tries to help Luci and botches it, that conversation was so hilarious. I believe it's only outdone by the accidental dinner with the family back on Kiawah island when Landon went on a weekend vacation. It was so much fun to have the family together and the chaos that comes with that. I loved reading those moments.

My least favorite part of the book is Luci's secret. She's so insistent on being the person to 'rescue' this person that she ignores all the conventional wisdom and she also hides it from the person she claims to be falling in love with. She knows she's wrong for lying about it and still does it all the while hiding it. If there isn't a problem with what you are doing then you shouldn't have to hide it. This was my one con for the story, she was willfully stupid at times and while I understand the emotions behind it, you can't help someone if you yourself aren't safe.

Reading this I got so frustrated with her because I kept thinking to myself, what would have happened if she hadn't met Landon?? Or what would have happened if her staff didn't love her enough to know when something was wrong?? Her fate would have been terrible all because she can't separate her emotions enough to accept that she's done all she can, now it's up to them. Maybe because this is part of my career field I knew better & can separate the emotions out more, so to me her actions were reckless for no other reason than she's too emotional that she's not willing to seek the help she needs herself, because she knows what others would say.

All in all this was a wonderfully written story. It was emotional as all of Cecy's books are and it certainly kept me glued. I needed to know what her secret was, how they would work out their individual issues while working on become a duo. It was awesome to read and I can't wait for more from Cecy.

★★★★1/2☆
Happy Reading my loves,
