I usually enjoy books by the author but not so much this one. I found it difficult to relate to the characters, especially Mia and the ending was just too untrue. It was full of enough suspense to keep me interested however, as there were plenty of secrets to be unveiled. it was told from different perspectives which worked well, just not my favourite read. Thanks to Net Galley for my ARC.

Told by two different POV’s Silent Lies by Kathryn Croft has great characters , is an excellent psychological thriller with lots of secrets and twists and turns to discover that keeps misleading the reader and a totally unexpected ending . Thoroughly enjoyed this one!

I would like to thank Bookouture & NetGalley for providing an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest and fair review

Silent lies by Kathryn Croft.
Mia Hamilton lived the perfect life with her husband, university teacher Zach, and their two-year-old daughter, Freya. But everything changed when Zach committed suicide on the same night one of his students, Josie Carpenter, vanished.
A brilliant read. I loved the story and characters. Twisty and tense. 5*.

The book was slow and boring but at least I was able to finish it. But the whole ending was confusing. The "twist", albeit surprising, just didn't make sense.

Thank you to NetGalley, Bookouture and Kathryn Croft for a copy of "Silent Lies" in exchange of an honest review.

Who, exactly, is Alison and why has she appeared in Mia's life now? Did Mia's husband commit suicide five years ago or not? This is a well paced thriller with a good twist. No spoilers from me.

A jaw dropping psychological thriller that reeled me in from the very first page. Oh my word what an absolutely brilliant read this was. So much going on through the book and the ending was just fantastic.

Mia Hamilton had a beautiful life with her husband Zach and their daughter and the one night Zach commits suicide. Coincidently on the same night one of his students disappears.
Five years later Mia has finally gotten herself together and is finding her way in a new relationship and a new business counselling other struggling people. A new client should be routine but when Alison tells Mia that Zach did not kill himself, Mia’s world falls apart again.
Katheryn Crofts books are always a treat to read and this one was no different. A story that is so well developed you have no clue what’s unravelling in front of you. This book leaves you trusting no one and questioning everyone. At some stage throughout this book I suspected every single character! The final chapter is a head spinner! This is a fantastic read.

That thud you just heard was my jaw hitting the floor. EPIC twist, brilliantly written and completely devoured in a day. Can’t wait to read more by this amazing author.

Silent Lies by Kathryn Croft is a gripping psychological thriller. Two narrators, a clever plotline and an ending that I certainly didn't see coming.

I cant say this book gripped me from the very beginning but it was interesting enough to keep me going. I didnt overly like any of the characters so when something bad happened to them, I kind of liked it. But I was really happy with the ending and Kathryn Croft remains an author I keep my eye out for.

Thank you to Netgalley, the publisher and the author for the opportunity to read this book in return for my honest opinion.

I have read other books by this author and liked them, so I thought I would enjoy this one. I didn't really like it. I found the storyline predictable and I did not like the characters, Mia and Alison bothered me. I found the story dragged on and I just wanted to get to the point. I did finish it but it wasn't my cup of tea.

I've had great luck with mysteries lately. This was another good one that I read. It has definitely kept me up late tonight. This is told with dual pov's: Mia--who's is the wife of the suspect and Josie--the victim. Mia's world comes to a shocking stop when her new client, Alison, makes the claim that Mia's husband didn't commit suicide. Alison happens to be the ex- roommate of Josie's. Mia can't decide whether she trusts Alison claims but wants so desperately to have the answers about what happened between Luke and Josie. It's hard as the reader to trust Alison,as well, because you hear all about her from Josie's pov. Do we trust her? Or is there something else going on? I thought the writer did a great job of keeping you guessing throughout the novel. Through Mia's and Josie's journey, I hardly knew who to believe nor did I see the ending coming. That was a great surprise!

This is a good modern thriller with plenty of twists and turns. I enjoyed the story which held my interest to the last page.

A boring book about nothing, that could have been written in half the words. Rare is it that I really did not like the books I read

Gripping storyline, with plenty of twists to keep me guessing to the very end.

This book has the guessing that you see in "Gone Girl" and "The Girl on the Train."
