I've been binge reading the Comfort Food Café series (is that a thing, it is now!) after having this and the first book for a while through NetGalley. I have obtained ad read the in between books from other sources, as I have got so involved with the Community of Budbury and the Comfort Food Café.

Willow's story was a great one, giving her insight into living with and dealing with her Mum's Alzheimer's. It's so lovely to see how the Community all come together when someone needs it and how they all help and support each other. It was great to be introduced to Willow's siblings and also that she found her own happiness by the end of the story.

I'm looking forward to reading the remaining books in the series. I also really wish a place like this really did exist. As a walker, I would love to come across this little Café while out with friends, as is mentioned in the books the amount of walkers that stop by the Café.

I absolutely adore this series . Yet again I loved everything about this book which is the fourth book in this heartwarming book series. We are back again in Budbury and this time we are with Willow who shares her story with us. A fabulous read that after I’ve finished reading I just wanted to read more about the residents of Budbury. Cannot wait for book 6.

The warmth they convey make it so easy to read these fabulous books and I even have my daughter reading them now especially on holiday when you are lying in the sun it takes you to the Beach near the cafe

I really enjoyed reading this book. Even though it is about a terrible illness it's also very uplifting. Beautifully written, as normal your pull into the plot and very well written book

This was an enjoyable read that brought me back to the familiar world and characters I enjoyed from the previous book. I liked the characters, though it did take me quite a few sittings to get through this as I’m accustomed to faster paced reads. With that said, it was perfect for sunny, poolside reading and relaxation. and I would read more by Debbie Johnson.

I am no longer interested in reading this book as I am currently reading more fantasy then romance or chick lit

I love Debbie Johnson's Comfort Food Cafe series - while they've always got some really sad bits (and are quite formulaic with that aspect) they're real celebrations of found-family and how communities can come together. Willow has been in the series from the beginning, a young woman who spends most of the time caring for her mother who has Alzheimers. I was pleased to hear that she was a main character in this book, because we've seen her as a continual side character, and I was eager to find out more about her. Also, she's younger than some of the main characters have been, and at a more similar stage of life to me, so I thought I might relate to her situations more than I have with the characters who already have kids, for example.

When she's not looking after her mum, Willow works as a cleaner, with a business she set up and runs by herself. She's been employed to clean up a big local house, which used to be a children's home, and soon meets her employer, who turns out to be surprisingly handsome and surprisingly young. I loved that Tom was a bit of a geek, interested in sci fi & fantasy and how to survive a zombie apocalypse - a man after my own heart!

They have the usual mix of ups and downs, and deal with problems like Willow's strained relationship with her siblings, the trials of looking after her mum, and the interference of well-meaning neighbours who have seen her work so hard & just want her to be able to have some nice things for herself sometimes. It's an emotional ride in places, but as with the rest of the series, very uplifting and - as you might guess from the name - comforting. I love this series as a quick read to perk up a weekend. Overall, I'm giving it 8/10.

Perched on a windswept cliff on the stunning Dorset coast at what feels like the edge of the world, the café and its warm-hearted community are a haven for lost souls who happen to wander by with a heavy heart and a story to tell.

Serving up the most delicious cream teas; beautifully baked breads, and carefully crafted cupcakes, there’s nothing a cup of tea and a delicious treat won’t fix. For tourists and locals alike, the ramshackle cafe overlooking the beach is a beacon of laughter, companionship, and security – a place like no other; a place that offers friendship as a daily special, and where a hearty welcome is always on the menu.

I really enjoyed the earlier Comfort Food Cafe books and was really looking forward to catching up with the characters. Unfortunately, I didn't enjoy this one quite as much as the previous books in the series. I think this was because I don’t think there was enough in it about the other characters, so I didn’t feel like there was much catching up with them. It just seemed to revolve entirely around Willow and I just found it a little slow and a little whiney and although Willow was perfectly nice as a character, I found Tom to be a bit wet.

This book appears to be a sequel, or at least in a series. However, it reads perfectly well as a standalone.

There's a lot of pop culture references in here, and I really loved this. It connected my world to the book world fantastically.

It's a very sweet and sunny book, super fast paced, and perfect for a summer's day of reading on the park bench.

This is another excellent addition to the Comfort Food Cafe series, I've been speed reading through them to get myself up to speed before reaching this one (very easy when you are night feedin your newborn!).
We return to the cafe to follow the story of Willow, her mother and the family wrapped around it. I loved the story and characters, I love how this series takes a background character and gives you there background story or another prespective. An excellent read that can be read as part of the series, but does explain enough if you read it on it's own.

The brilliant next instalment for the cafe. I love all of these books. And it’s great that each book takes the view of a different character, but you still get to know how all the others are getting on

A really enjoyable series of books. I'd definitely recommend. Heartwarming and funny - (though a little sad in places) - it's one to let yourself get lost in. I enjoyed getting to know Willow and her family, and of course the quirky seaside town. Debbie Johnson's characterisation is very good - you never feel like characters are one dimensional - they're all well rounded and well thought out.
I'd heartily recommend.

Although this is part of a series, I read it as a stand-alone, which works fine.

The heroine of the take is Willow and her mum Lynnie, who has dementia. We see the local community in Dorset pull together to support them both, and also the heavy burden Willow takes on herself in terms of responsibility for her mum. There’s a romance too, but I found the story of Willow and Lynnie to be more interesting.
