I like this story. I didn't know it was the fourth of the series when I requested to review it, but that's alright as I was thoroughly enjoying it. There were quite a few errors (editing wise) but overall it's a riveting story. Now i need to go back and read the prior books.

Tiia Quinn looked over Bailey’s shoulder glaring at the computer screen. Bailey said it was what she wasn’t finding that was interesting. Someone was working hard to cover their tracks. The comment someone had posted on “In Like Quinn” - Tia’s humble contribution to independent investigative journalism. The post had alarmed Tia so much she had called her friend an Underworld Council Member Scarlet Fontaine for advice, two hours later Bailey Brown- one of the world’s cyber security experts had knocked on Tia’s door. Tia had moved to sleepy Stillwater a couple of months ago. The post stated : Sebastiani Labs so-called board directors must be called to account for their illegal acts and for abandoning the Old Ways”. Bailey also read: If you don’t expose them, I will”. Sebastiani Labs were privately held and but still had a rabid fan base, was a wildly successful business that had its fingers in many pies. The company didn’t trade stocks, didn’t seek contracts, didn’t advertise its wares, its board of directors secretly dubbed as the governing body of Earth’s non- human species. Tia and Bailey decided to call Lucas before deleting the comment. Lukas was an incubus and and subsided on emotional energy he plucked out of the air like people needed food and vampires needed blood. Tia has been grappling with Jack who taught self defense annoyed Wyland who was the second over all the vampires. Jack was a managing partner of Sebastiani Security, too many women found him appealing. It had been a long time since Wyland had been attracted to a female but he was to Tia. Scarlet;s band had been famous but she had stopped performing publicly when Stephan had killed her sister Annika. But Scarlet still had a rabid fan base and the security problems that came with it. There was a piece of “fan mail” that had a tag on it - a word processed document which invoked the Old Ways against Scarlet;s and Lucas “unborn- half breed abomination”. The safety of their people depended on Wyland remembering his job. Bailey was a human and how to try to explain the Old Ways of their ancestors of euthanizing newborns who exhibited severe physical abnormalities. Being marooned on a inhospital planet with no chance of rescue , with little medicine and even fewer options, their ancestors had made unspeakably painful decisions for the good of the pride Bailey knew that their ancestors had crashed in northern Minnesota several millennia ago, marooning the passengers and forcing the surviving incubi, succubi, vampires, valkyrie, were- shifters, sirens, and faeries to fight for survival in the dead of winter. The Old Ways used wringing necks and smothering the preferred method of dispatch but rarely did one's own family do the grisly task. Valerian/Val was the world's oldest living vampire. Bailey said she couldn’t really help with the archives and Tia offered to help. Wyland tried to turn her down but Val said it was an excellent idea. Tia and Wyland become lovers.
I loved this book. I enjoyed the relationship between Val and Wyland and Thane so very close. I also loved how Thane just loved taking care of everyone and done such a good job. I loved the intrigue, and suspense in this book. I loved the pace and the plot. I loved Wyland and Tia’s relationship and I loved how Tai would not back down from Wyland even if she did compromise with him at times. I loved the characters and the ins and outs of this book and I highly recommend.

Wow, I joined this series wayyyyyyy after I should have. There is a very detailed and comprehensive world already built and set up for this story, but I managed to muddle through. The author certainly does a good job of catching up even the most uniformed reader (like me).

This book follows the blissfully beautiful romance between Tia and Wyland. Tia is a young vampire, an investigative journalist, and a friend to most of the higher up muckidy mucks of the Underworld Council. In this universe there are all sorts of paranormals and each of them have representation on the council by a first and second. For vampires, the second is Wyland. That means he’s responsible for representing and governing the vampire race and also being super-duper old and powerful. This, for Wyland, also comes with crippling guilt over perceived faults and overworking himself to Dresden-like levels of fatigue.

So how do these two manage to get into a relationship? Well it certainly wasn’t Wyland’s preference to bring such a young and seemingly fragile woman into his life. If he had his way, he’d be brooding, alone, and sleep deprived for the rest of his never-ending life. Tia, however, has a way of shaking things up. After ending up on the short list of people granted access to the archives, she starts to become a close friend to the vampire first, putting her square in Wyland’s line of sight. It seems impossible, the amount of work he takes on, but he somehow manages to add a simmering obsession with Tia to the mix rather quickly.

The blend of these two characters was one I really enjoy. Tia’s “live life to the fullest” attitude constantly forcing Wyland to push outside is comfort zone was really great to watch. Oh, and the sizzle between these two was great, too! Even if you’re not familiar with the world (like I was), I still recommend this book as a solid paranormal romance read with oodles of mystery and action thrown in, too!

This is book four in the "Underbelly Chronicles" and whilst it can be read as a standalone , reading the previous books in the series gives you a better idea of the people and their places in the Supernatural Community .
These books make me laugh out loud with the banter between characters , the hot sex scenes and the storylines complex enough to reel you in .... leads to an addictive series .

Vampire journalist Tia Quinn is young by vamp standards , full of curiosity about the world around her both Supernatural and Mortal . She comes into information that could destroy the world she knows and feels honour bound to inform the Underworld Council's 300yr old Vampire second , Wyland .
Finding herself the target of attacks she is instructed to move into Wyland's secure home which he shares with the Vampire first Val and Thane .
Wyland does not know what to make of Tia , she makes him burn , makes him come alive much against his will ...... he has lived in a cold emotional world for decades ..... she is turning his world upside down .
The sparks flow both ways , conflicts occur ............but it will take them working together to defeat the threat to their very way of life and bring them closer together .

I enjoyed this book so much I went out and bought the previous books in the series and now await the next with impatience .

Tia Quinn young journalist who it seem someone has been leaving comments on her site that need to be looked into. Wyland is the second in commend and when he feels things are very series he has Tia move in with him. This starts that battle over love and keeping Tia safe.

4 1/2 Star Review.....

Tamara Hogan has finally returned with the fourth instalment in her fabulously delicious Underbelly Chronicles. I loved this series when it first hit the shelves back in 2011 and have wondered what happened to this fabulous author. Well she’s back with a vengeance and reminding readers why this series was such an absolute hit!

Jam-packed with the same laugh out loud, sassy banter we’ve come to expect from these intriguing tales, Tia and Wyland are set to have readers just as addicted as we were whe the series began.

Great world building, extraordinary characters and a fast-paced exceptionally written tale, Enthrall Me does that and so much more. I hope we aren’t waiting another four years for the next gripping instalment.

Unusual take on the vampire-styled novel. This paranormal story is full of numerous characters that it is often difficult to remember who is who until about halfway through it. Love the chemistry between Tia and Wyland, just wish there was more of it.

ENTHRALL ME, Tamara Hogan

Review from Jeannie Zelos book reviews

Genre: sci-fi and fantasy, Romance

Stupidly I just looked at description, thought it sounded fun and requested...so it wasn't until I started to read I realised it was 4th in a series...doh. My bad, again.

Still, I did find it relatively easy to keep up, though I needed to back track a few times to check on who people were and how they fit the story.
I'd rather do that though, its my fault, than have authors bore established followers of a series with info they already know. I've found that in a few series I follow and to be frank its irritating. I always feel valuable story telling time is taken up that way, and if readers don't know then they need to go back and read earlier books, or at least the samples so they get that info.

Its a fun story, one where the supernatural world is still hidden from humans but where they all interact, sometimes reluctantly, with each other, and where modern technology has meant they have to embrace it to keep themsleves hidden.
Its very sensual at times but sex that doesn't dominate, fits the story-line. for me many promising books are let down when the sex overtakes the story, becomes the main them and I want story first, sex second.

I liked Tia, though she was very self confident at times, especially in the way she pushed Wyland. Its clear there's a strong attraction between them, but they move in different circles and are hundreds of years apart. I found it a bit odd that she was never awed by what he'd seen and done, but just very interested in learning more. I don't think I could help being a bit awed by him, but then Val and Thane are older than Wyland, and she's the same with them.
Its that freshness, that taking them at face value that makes her so likable, and makes her fit in so well. That's a good job because owing to the current danger surrounding her she's had to move in to their household for a bit.....Wyland, watch out, she's determined to open what you have - and she does. Poor guy doesn't stand a chance.
There's one bit I book marked that made me snigger ( there were a few but this one deserves retelling.) Tia has just got out a condom, "…. he smelled latex, and chemicals - odd but not off-putting, especially compared to sheep intestine...." That really sums up his age to me.

Its a fun story, plenty of action, lots of viewpoints, which I love, makes me understand characters better.
Its got a solid story-line too, and brings in characters from earlier books, which made me want to read their stories too.
I could see the differing arguments between the modernisers and the purists as being very real, there are always people with opposing views, and with a supernatural society there is plenty of space for revel/stay hidden, mix with others, stay within own species arguments and I really want to read further books in this series.

Stars: 4.5, a story I enjoyed even though I didn't know the background having missed first three books ( bad Jeannie!)

Tia doesn't mind stating her thoughts, “the fact that you put your tongue in my mouth, and that you liked it.” She pointed to his necktie. “And the fact that you just put your goddarn armor back on.” I loved the attitude Wyland had when he was with Tia, "he gave her butt cheek a smart little tap. “I wish I could turn you over my knee and give you the spanking you so dearly deserve —” i liked this book, I loved Wyland.
