This was a good and helpful read. It wasn't quite what I expected it to be, but it has some good information and is a good resource to reference back to for specific issues and it has decent recommendations.

Great companion for everyone who seriously treats her or his health. It can surprise but most often educate and edify anyone interested in holistic approach. Necessary as a reference book for every environmentalist and progressive.

I have mixed feelings about this book. It wasn’t quite what I expected for an “Encyclopedia of Natural Healing” since much of the text was about drugs. That said, some of the information was interesting. I learned quite a bit about the use of stem cells, and there was some information about Vitamin D that I wasn’t familiar with.

The author does provide some specific suggestions, such as recommending specific brands of nutritional supplements or homeopathic remedies that he recommends. And I liked the section where he discussed thinking of food in terms of how much exercise it would take to burn the calories consumed, and he gave some examples of foods and equivalent exercises.

I did notice a few mistakes in areas where I have some knowledge. For example, in a section on arthritis, the author stated that “Osteoarthritis isn’t a wear-and-tear disease.” Actually, it is. Mr. Tate had just been writing about rheumatoid arthritis, which is an autoimmune condition, so perhaps he just referred to the wrong type of arthritis and his editor missed it (or perhaps it has been corrected in the final published edition). However, there were a few times when I suspect the author may have been writing about topics that he doesn’t actually understand very well, so it is hard for me to trust what he writes.

I think people who like to learn about health but don’t have any medical training and don't want to research things on their own, or are at least looking for someplace simple to start their research, might enjoy this. If you’ve already read widely on these topics, you may not learn enough for this to be worth your time.

I was provided an ARC through NetGalley that I volunteered to review. Because I have not seen the final published version, I cannot comment on the final editing and formatting.

Every time I view ads for medications to treat various diseases or illnesses and hear or read about the side effects these medications have, I become more and more grateful for the authors who take the time to research and write books like this one. This book provides a wealth of information to assist the reader with treating different health issues. Furthermore, the information is presented in an easy to follow, balanced way, discussing what works and what doesn’t, so the reader is able to make an informed decision as well as do more research on areas where there may be more questions.

I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book that was provided by the publisher through Net Galley. However, the thoughts presented here are my own.

This is a definitive health care book that everyone can benefit from. The author has complied a body of work from articles on subjects such as nutrition, exercise, stress relief and preventing disease as well as disease prevention. I enjoyed it very much and will put many practices into play. This would be a excellent guide to health to gift to someone and to buy in hardcover for your own use time and time again.
I found it very well organized, easy to follow and tremendously helpful .

Thank you for the ARC which does not influence my private review. I appreciate receiving this book for review .

This book is a great resource! It is set up in a way that you can read straight through or you can pick and choose applicable chapters. Tate covers the basics well for anybody who is not familiar with the subject and really provides a great outline for living a better and healthier life naturally. He has really done his research for this book! While I have already adapted a healthier style of living for my own family, I was still able to learn new things from this book and be refreshed on great old advice as well. I especially enjoyed the study of healthier populations and how they improve their longevity and quality of life. I definitely recommend if you are trying to make healthier changes in your life!

Always a fan of Natural Remedy Encyclopedias as this one was a wonderful find! Not only a great encyclopedia of specific diseases and remedies but I also very much enjoyed the early chapters that have a brief breakdown on topics such as Genetics, Immunotherapy, and homeopathy, to name a few. Especially appreciated the chapter on off-the-grid healthcare having been a traveler myself, living on the road for months at a time. Part 2, the Disease Directory is, in my opinion, a must-have for every household! Great book for every home and wish more people would start looking into natural & alternative therapies!

I would like to thank the publisher, Humanix Books, and netgalley for providing me with an ARC of this marvelous book.

I really like this book, with great information about medical treatments but also about non- conventional treatments like foods that we can eat to prevent illnesses such as cancer, diabetes and arthritis. I also like the information on supplements and vitamins.

This book, contains information that you nay find in difffpubkicstions or websites, but it is all in one place for you.

A must for every home!

I liked how Tate broke down the vitamins and minerals in an easy to follow manner and he makes daily dosage recommendations for maintenance or to ward off certain health conditions that are known to be influenced by nutritional deficiencies. The writing is clear without being to jargony. I would recommend it for people who want more information about vitamins and minerals and their effects on the human body.

Basically what the title says: a large collection of articles about prevention and treatment of various ailments, with a bent toward non-chemical solutions.
The good news is that this book is a lot more conversational and citizen friendly than most in this genre. Unfortunately there’s a lot of repeating. Every disease has its section, and every time something like acupuncture or turmeric is indicated, it’ll say the whole thing again. Makes this a reference book, not something to read cover to cover, but I suppose the title already explains that. Still, it’s well worth reading the info at least one time.

I love this handy guide! It is well-organized, comprehensive and informative. Health Radar’s Encyclopedia of Natural Healing is more in-depth than many books devoted to this topic. It is well-researched and I most appreciated the helpful lists of which supplements NOT to take. The book covers helpful tips from allergies, to thyroid issues to cancer and so much in between. Such a convenient reference book for those of us who endeavor to stay healthy in order to avoid the need for various medications!
