A lovely story about a grandfather and grandson relationship. Made me miss my grandfather and wish I heard more of his stories and wrote down the ones he did tell.

The idea behind this story seemed so cute. The cover also is very sweet looking. I liked the pictures inside, but the story left something to be desired. I did like the way they used imagination and how the story ended. I just feel like it was missing something. The writing style felt off to me.

It felt like each of grandpa's stories stopped right when they were getting somewhere and that was annoying. So maybe if this were longer, it would have been better at least for this adult who still loves children books. :) But hey, this could be perfect for grandparents to read to their grandchildren.

Lovely artwork accompanies this simple plea to use our imagination, as a grandfather dazzles his grandson with tales of strange derring-do. It might be a bit too simple, but it's got a basic and warm appeal for the young.

This is a wonderful story about the time a boy spends with his grandfather. He used to be a magician and has a trunk in the attic. Everyday, he pulls something from the trunk and takes Charlie on a journey somewhere on earth or somewhere in time. It is a beautifully illustrated story about the power of imagination. Charlie is treated to a different story that he shares with his father, until his father tells him that they are all tall tales. Charlie and his grandfather talk about the magic in the world unleashed by imagination and that night he unleashes the power of his own imagination and shows up in one of grandfather's adventures just in time to save him. A great story for sharing with little ones or with school children to help them use their imagination.

This story is simply wonderful. It’s full of imagination and care. The illustrations are also top notch and help progress the tale. The best way to describe it is to say it's like a non-Christmas Polar Express. You just have to believe. We all have magic inside of us, you just have to believe it exists. Absolutely wonderful.

ARC Copy...very much a depiction of the magical moments with a grand parent with active imagination plus the wonders/powers of imagination to metaphorically take you places while being open minded and child-like about it. The rich illustrations doesn't hurt too.

The Magician's Secret is another children's book that teaches kids about the power of imagination and believing; even though others are not favorable or encouraging, one should be confident that he can do and achieve anything. A great book that is highly recommended to young kids and perhaps — even adult readers that were currently feeling discouraged or despair in their life could obtain hope once they read this.

A beautifully illustrated story about the power of imagination. Charlie loves staying with his grandfather, who used to be a magician. In the attic, his grandfather has a large story chest that has objects taken from his many adventures. Every time he stays, Charlie is treated to a different story until he unleashes the power of his own imagination and tags along in the adventures. A delightful book that my grandson enjoyed getting read to him.
