The story was sweet and charming, but not especially original. However, the illustrations really make this book. Green has created a beautifully detailed world with her felt animals. I read this with my girls and we were all charmed, going back over the story for another look at the illustrations. They are simply gorgeous. I look forward to purchasing this book for my library, and I hope there will be more Juniper Hollow books to come.

Fox and Raccoon was such a lovely story of friendship and kindness. The two friends loved having fun together but this particular day was different. While Fox was busy working hard on projects, Raccoon was incredibly helpful, running errands, gathering flowers and doing all he could so that the friends could play together again. The surprise at the end of the book was somewhat expected as you continued reading, but it didn't change the love that was felt throughout the book.
